  1. My best guess at the next 5: Rod Trafford Jasen Esposito Kevin Thompson Lawrence Richardson Evan Oglesby Cieslek is showing some ability to get open, keep him around another week and ditch Trafford. Esposito hasnt shown a thing. If Woodbury couldnt take the 3rd QB job from Matthews, Thompson sure as heck wont. Oglesby hasnt done much...and it was a toss-up between who goes between Richardson and Fontenot, but I thought Fonny was having a stronger camp.
  2. So how many more players need to go to get down to 65? And is it at ALL possible to cut some of the bums on IR? I know it doesnt count towards getting down to 65, and I'd keep Lawrence Smith on the squad for next season, but come on...Sobieski, Vann and Bentley havent shown anything, there is no reason to pay them. Injury settlements for all and then boot them out.
  3. I was at a Finish Line store here at the Crossgates Mall in Albany and I saw this guy in front of me buying a throwback McGahee jersey. I was surprised, mainly because I thought that our throwbacks were far too specific to be sold in a mainly Giants fanbase. I talked to the clerk and he said that they got 10 of the McGahee throwbacks on Monday, and 9 of them had been sold as of the Thrusday afternoon when I was there.
  4. .........*an audible discharge of intestinal gas*........... Thats MUCH more polite on my part.
  5. The Bears seem pretty damn confident coming into tonight's game, with Chad Hutchinson really trying to show that he can lead this team to victory in 2005. My guess is that we'll lose because even though its still preseason, this game means MUCH more to the Bears in terms of trying to show the NFL that they wont just roll over now that Grossman is out for 2-3 months. I also think Losman struggles BIG TIME against the Bears starting Defense.
  6. Not from VA it isnt...lately he's been downright Rudyish.
  7. Over the last five years, on average there are 7 teams that finish 5-11 or worse per year. So I'll pick seven teams for 2005 that'll finish 5-11 or worse. They are: Miami San Francisco Cleveland Chicago San Diego (I got a feeling they are going to drop BIG TIME) Dallas New Orleans (this team has the potential to be the worst in the NFL...there is no leadership on that squad at all)
  8. Here is the blip on Parrish in case it doesnt show up: News Roscoe Parrish, who had surgery to repair an injured right wrist on August 12, is expected to miss the first month of the regular season, according to the Associated Press. Parrish is out of the sling he's been wearing for 10 days, but is still wearing a cast on his right arm. Views The rookie from Miami was very impressive early in camp, and had the inside track on the No. 3 receiver gig in Buffalo. In his absence, veteran Josh Reed will likely keep his slot receiver job by default, but once Parrish returns it shouldn't take long for him to see significant playing time.
  9. *Gets out the world's smallest violin and starts playing for Drew*
  10. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=fanb...nball&type=lgns One month...I can deal with that.
  11. God forbid we expected a 12-year veteran ex-Pro Bowl QB to actually lead this team.
  12. Come on...who can deny Mortiis this honor? http://www.darkness.de/images/product_imag...is_stargate.jpg Thats the album cover to "The Stargate" which I found when I was working as a DJ for my college station. General Rule: You cannot look cool wearing a skull codpiece.
  13. Thats weird because two days ago on NFL Live, Golic blasted Drew Bledsoe and claimed that he would never start 16 games in Dallas, either due to injury or poor talent on his part. Said that his skills were so limited now and Parcells was going to regret bringing him in. So apparently, according to ESPN: Drew Bledsoe is an aging statue who could never win the important games...but gosh darnit, without him the Bills are screwed!
  14. Makes you wonder if Thurman or Andre even gets in this year...personally, I think Andre is going to have to wait a few years before he gets his ticket to Canton (although any wait longer than 2010 is very, very wrong). Thurman SHOULD be a first-ballot HOFer though. I think this is a year where we get the full 6-member class for the Hall. My early prediction is: Troy Aikman, Reggie White, Thurman Thomas, Michael Irvin, John Madden (because one of the old-time choices ALWAYS makes it) and Bruce Armstrong. Although I might add there is a good chance Irvin doesnt make it again...not only for his poor attitude when he was a player, but also because lately the Hall doesnt seem to like putting in HOF members who played on the same teams during an induction year. So it wouldnt surprise me if Irvin got dropped.
  15. I'm impressed...someone who actually looks at the team instead of the "Well...I've HEARD of Drew Bledsoe...so releasing him must have killed their season" ESPN way of covering Bills football.
  16. Actually, Keyshawn is right. In Buffalo, Bledsoe had productive and talented receivers...which happens to be two descriptions that havent been associated with Keyshawn for the last 6 years.
  17. Marcus Spears hasnt looked that great in preseason...its DeMarcus Ware thats lighting it up.
  18. BB.com has a reputation for doing the EXACT same thing by making it seem that everything the Bills do is great. In fact, I'd say that Bears press release is pretty tame compared to the happy sunshine crap that BB.com throws at us when things go bad. And the Bears have been looking somewhat decent in their last two preseason games...Chad Hutchinson is terrible, but Kyle Orton looks like he could tear our backup Defense to shreds and they just signed Jeff Blake. Wouldnt surprise me at all to see them hang a bunch of points on us on Friday and get a preseason win to boost their confidence heading into the season.
  19. That is one flexible gymnast's split he has going on there...sign him up for the Olympics!
  20. You want him back, VA?
  21. TD for Bledsoe...oh baby, you cant stop him!
  22. It is kinda funny to see another #21 make up for Bledsoe's inability to energize a team.
  23. I love hearing Wyche interviews. He always comes off as having this "I cant believe they actually pay me to do this" feeling in terms of his love for the game. Plus...come on...he called the old Bucs logo gay. You have to love that honesty.
  24. If Bledsoe does well tonight, I wonder how long it'll take people to do a "Losman/Bledsoe" comparison thread. The Seahawks Defense has been pretty craptacular lately, I bet Bledsoe looks good tonight...and he'll lure Cowboys fans into a false sense of confidence.
