Willis made the "Worst List" of 2005
BillsGuyInMalta replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if his agent Rosey-boy will try to make the Bills rework his deal this offseason? "Hey, my client under-performed drastically and was a drain on the team with his outrageously arrogant comments. More money! Gimme Gimme Gimme!" -
Herm Edwards, new KC HC!
BillsGuyInMalta replied to The Quebecer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reaaallly? Because I heard the NFL Countdown crew just last week talking about how the Jets were clearly going to fire Edwards and he would more than likely make his way to KC. I think about halfway through this season it was pretty apparent he was gone. I think the Jets just tried to downplay everything in order to snooker a draft pick out of KC. It worked. But I dont think there was a chance in hell that the Jets were seriously considering keeping Edwards if they couldnt work out a trade with KC. That would have been like if we kept Williams for a 4th season, the fans would have turned into the proverbial angry mob. Jets fans definitely were hating on Edwards big time this season. -

Can someone explain to me why the Chiefs just didnt...you know...wait until Edwards got fired from the Jets this offseason? Good move by the Jets, got an extra 4th rounder for someone they were going to fire anyways. -
Damn you Terrence McGee!

Being at #8, we'll still get a shot at some damn good players. Honestly the best thing that could happen for the Bills is if Vince Young enters the draft...talent gets pushed further down to us. IN FACT, I read some mock drafts this morning over on NFLDraftCountdown.com and with Young entering the draft, some have D'Brickshaw falling to us. Now I doubt that happens because some team will trade up to get him, but still...definitely would help us. -
Jason Spitz, Offensive Guard. Very strong, great run blocker...smart kid. All of those are good reasons to use our 2nd or 3rd rounders on him...but his bio picture puts him waaaaaay over the edge in my books. http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/school...spitz_jason.jpg GIT ER DONE MARV!

Rodrique Wright had better NOT be
BillsGuyInMalta replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can find a single crappy game for each of the top 10 projected draft picks and base my entire analysis on that one terrible game. That type of thinking makes you lose out on the Ngatas of the world and draft the Erik Flowers of the world. -
Weirdest OC/DC combo you can come up with

Rob Johnson and Doug Flutie -
Just for reference, it looks like cutting the following players has this effect on our cap: Sam Adams: $2,125,000 Eric Moulds: $5,522,333 Mike Williams: $4,907,098 Total: $12,554,431 Of course they'll all have some dead cap space to deal with for future years...but that is, as they say in prison, indeed a lot of "grip" to have tied up in 3 players. Honestly, I'm in the camp that says Eric Moulds is worth keeping on this team, even at his current outrageous contract. I think just cutting Mike Williams and Sam Adams could give us breathing room to franchise NC (we have it now, but always good to have more room) and then bring in some solid O-Line help through FA.

I'm actually kinda hoping the Bills take two DTs in their first four picks. Keep an eye out on Dusty Dvoracek, kid from Oklahoma. He's got an issue with anger management and alcohol...just the kind of guy Marv loves! -
Over on Billszone, Clumpy & Company have the cap figured out at 11 million dollars under...but thats without RFA tenders or escalators that kick in at the end of the season (thats what killed us last year in terms of the cap...that and Mike Williams' Burger King salary). So it'll probably be more like 9 million under...but cutting Williams and Moulds will free up substantial cash. I say keep Moulds, can Williams. I dont really know about Sam Adams contract and how it effects the team though...very confoosin' to me.

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/rankings/dt.html This is the website I've used for the past 3 years in looking at the draft, and I really do swear by it. I'm not insulting Wright, I think he will be good...but a lot of other DTs seem to have oodles more upside than he does. If he was there when we pick in the 2nd (even if we take Ngata with the first), I think I'd jump on him. Might as well just settle the DT problem in one draft by getting two starters, ya know? -
Mario Williams is for real, this kid just absolutely reeks of Julius Peppers...just without the need for nose candy (or whatever the hell Peppers got suspended for...I'll pretend it was nose candy for my own amusement). Honestly...Mario Williams, Haloti Ngata, Jimmy Williams, Eric Winston, Winston Justice...any of those guys would be fine and dandy as our first round pick. Keep an eye on Winston Justice, he was the ONLY player holding his blocks last night on USC's line.

I dont think that Clements will leave now. I think he gets franchised for sure. Even though Clumpy's numbers arent completely accurate, they are usually in the ballpark and he has the Bills at 12 million under the cap right now. Putting a franchise tag on a CB will cost us roughly 5 million...I say tag him to keep him off the market, work out a new long-term deal or trade him for picks like we did with Peerless. If we do end up trading him, we could probably go out and sign someone like Will Allen from the Giants, who is also a UFA. Much better and younger...with no past spitting problems.

BillsGuyInMalta replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uhhm...pretty sure Rodrique Wright is carrying a 2nd round grade right now, at the very best he'll be a LATE 1st rounder. The way I see it, the ONLY DT the Bills will take in the first round is Ngata. If he's not there at pick #8, the Bills will go O-Line with Winston Justice or Eric Winston (one of those Winstons) or Secondary help with Jimmy Williams. -

Maybe Marv will hire Clumpy to work the numbers for him. -

OC, Sam Wyche DC, Jim Haslett
BillsGuyInMalta replied to JStranger76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt we'll learn that quick...honestly Wyche handling the offense is okay in my books and could happen soon, but I really do think the Bills will look outside the team for a new Defensive coordinator. And that interview process usually takes weeks. -
I'm a big Fonuti fan, not many people know about him but that guy is a beast on the O-Line. Instant upgrade at LG.

BillsGuyInMalta replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In terms of finding new coordinators, its going to be decided by Mularkey & Marv, with Modrak and Wilson at least sitting in and meeting the new coaches. Bills will be aggressive in free agency, right up to the cap limits. The future is now for the Buffalo Bills. -
