What next? Fat Mike Williams Retires?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Kultarr's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doesnt Big Mike have to play at an NFL level first for him to retire from pro football? Wouldnt that be like me announcing my retirement from Major League Baseball? -
Bills Press Conference Friday at 11am

Say goodnight, the party is over for Mularkey. -
Marv: "Look Mike, a shiny piece of paper...go in the corner and play with it" Tice: "Ooooooooooooooo...purdy...I will love it and pet it and call it George" Marv: "Now, is there any possible way I can bring in Keith McKellar to run the offense...kid's got moxy!"

Oh god...if Meathead 2.0 leaves the Bills, does that leave the door open for Meathead 1.0 to come in and take his place? Ralph is a cheap bastard when it comes to hiring head coaches...he could EASILY see Mike Tice as the best available (and cheapest) HC canidate.
-
Maybe Mularkey's pregnant? He did look like he gained some chunkatude this season.
-
I heard there is no way that Ferentz would ever want to leave Iowa. Teams have contacted him already, and he's refused every interview, citing that he doesnt want to uproot his family. So methinks if Mularkey does quit (I doubt we'd be that lucky), Marv will be looking elsewhere...how about the Mooch?
-
Mort had TD plant a microphone in a ficus plant before he left...
-
Ralph was pretty cheap with his salary...wasnt it basically a million per year for 5 years? Heck, Rian Lindell makes more than that.
-
We really can only hope...Come on though Mularkey, EVERY SINGLE HEAD COACH faces criticism. Is it often too harsh and undeserved? You damn right...the media and NFL fans are arrogant dicks sometimes...but that is the same for every NFL team. Okay...except for maybe in Jacksonville where the fans seem to be saying "Whoa, whoa...wait a second Buckaroo...we have a team here? Stop lying, we do not!"

For awhile it was every time the Bills refused to run on first down, I threatened to eat a puppy. But after the puppy-eating got to about 20 puppies a game, I decided to quit that little practice. -
Seems an odd time to bring it up, but am I the only one thinking that Reggie Bush cant carry a starting RB's workload in the NFL? I mean, wasnt that the whole reason USC had to use LenDale White in the first place because Bush couldnt stand up to the beatings? I think Reggie Bush is about as close to being a Gale Sayers close as you can possibly get, but maybe his style wont suit the NFL very well.

A division rival would rape us for much more than just a 3rd rounder.

Breaking news: #34 finalist for Canton
BillsGuyInMalta replied to l< j's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just cant figure out why Monk is on the finalist list and not Andre Reed. Monk was a 3-time Pro Bowler in a 16 year career. As a WR, he only had 68 TDs. With that small amount of TDs, that puts him around #30 on the all-time WR list. In fact, if you compare Monk to Reed, Andre has him beat in every single vital category. Both played 16 seasons so its easy to compare. Pro Bowls: Monk: 3 Reed: 7 Receptions: Monk: 940 Reed: 951 Receiving Yards: Monk: 12,721 Reed: 13,198 Yards Per Catch: Monk: 13.5 Reed: 14.0 TDs: Monk: 68 Reed: 88 Soooooooooooooooo...why is Monk on the finalist list and Reed is not? I will really be insulted if Monk gets in before Reed does, it just doesnt make sense any way you look at it. The only thing I can think of is that Monk was on a team that won the SB...but Reed did have better playoff stats, so that should also count for something. I guess I dont have a big problem with Monk making the Hall...but not before someone more deserving than him, thats all. -

No love for Andre huh? So let me get this straight...Warren Moon, the Ultimate fancy passer who never won a damn thing in his life (and I'm not talking Superbowl here, I think he won what...2 playoff games in his entire career?) makes the finalist list but Andre doesnt? And Art Monk DOES NOT belong in the Hall of Fame...he belongs in the Hall of Very Good. Monk played for a long time and padded his stats, but never really dominated IMO. He was just...there. Sure, you'd have to gameplan for him, but the guy just never struck me as elite. Same with Warren Moon...neither belong in the HOF. Out of that list, my best guess for the 2006 HOF Class is... Thurman Thomas Troy Aikman John Madden Reggie White L.C. Greenwood -
I'm really starting to think Buffalo

Well the thing is Green Bay has lost a lot of O-Lineman...but they've all been interior guys...Rivera, Wahle, etc...all guards. Their starting OTs are Tauscher and Clifton, both started 16 games at their positions this year. Their Defense on the other hand is absolutely horrible and looks to be the main focus of their offseason. While it wouldnt surprise me for GB to draft D'Brickashaw, they have a lot more pressing needs on Defense to address. It would be like if we decided to improve our Safety position in the first round over LT or DT...yes, we will probably need new starters there sooner rather than later...but we have MUCH more serious needs at this point. -

It all comes down to when the Bills will stop dicking around their O-line problems and actually go out and fix them. I've watched D'Brickashaw very closely the last two years, in my opinion he would have been the first O-Lineman off the boards last year too. This guy is an anchor, an immediate upgrade rookie like Orlando Pace or Jonathan Ogden...the Bills need this guy so they can keep their QBs upright. Will it cost us our second rounder to move up to GB's spot? Probably...but if that means we dont have to worry about the LT position for the next decade, wouldnt it be worth it? D'Brickashaw dominates at that position, he's not a Mike Williams who has never played LT before...or a fat slob like McKinnie who cant keep his head on straight...this guy is going to be a huge force in the NFL and I really hope its in a Bills uniform. He's big enough to over power DEs and quick enough to stop the speed rushers or pick up blitzing OLBs. Totally worth giving up our second rounder for, IMO. I'm tired of hearing how most people want our O-Line to improve, but not wanting to give up anything to MAKE it happen. And dont get me wrong, say if D'Brickashaw gets taken in the top 4 or GB refuses to trade and we lose out on him...fine, then go ahead and take Mario Williams or Haloti Ngata or Jimmy Williams. But if he falls out of the top 4 and GB is interested...we have to pull the trigger, we cant let a team like San Franciso swoop in and take him a pick before we do and just throw up our hands again and say "Oh gosh darn it, we have the worst luck". -

BillsGuyInMalta replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is almost a non-issue at this point because its SO obvious the Bills are going to tag him. If he were say a LT or a QB then we'd have something to talk about because the numbers would be insanely high to franchise him, but being a CB it only costs us 5.1 million on the cap if we go into next season with him on our squad. For a starting "elite" CB (although that is definitely up for debate...I wouldnt even have Nate in the Top 10 CB category) its almost nothing. Nate definitely gets franchised and probably whored off to the highest bidder...I like some of the vet CBs on the market actually and think if we trade Nate, we could replace his production with some decent FA additions. Plus, we might even snag another first rounder...hell, we managed to do it with Peerless *snicker* -

Clements will be franchised considering it only costs 5.1 million bucks to do it. Worse comes to worse, we cant work out a long-term deal and we trade him like we did with Peerless to a team of our choosing. Especially with how crummy Nate played at times during this season, we hold a lot of cards in terms of dealing with him. -
I thought that was a fantastic commercial...shows how dedicated we Bills fans are to the team. Good to know we have that reputation.

Seriously, shouldnt they have accidently won one in that span, like what we did this year in Cincy?
