  1. By the way, that big fat D-Lineman is up for free agency this year...you gotta love them German/Hawaiian players. Go Kimo!
  2. I just said I'd pass on Ted Washington, I never said anything about ignoring the lines. In fact, I've said in a bunch of posts I want to see most of our FA attention be spent on signing one solid DT (coupled with drafting Ngata) and bringing in at least two new starters for the O-Line. I'm just not a fan of bringing in Ted Washington at his age.
  3. We had a couple of posters claim the same thing.
  4. Despite my brain-fart doing simple subtraction, the fact still remains...37 is insanely old for a grunt O-Line/D-Line player. Now I know all Ted really has to do is take up space, but unless he comes uber-cheap, I'd pass on him.
  5. Damn subtraction throwing me off by a year. Stupid New York education!
  6. According to NFL.com, he was born in April of 1968...wouldnt that mean he's 38 now and will be 39 in April? The fact still remains...he is OLD.
  7. Ted will be 39 in April.
  8. Here is the problem with both LeCharles Bentley and Hutchinson. Every other single NFL team will be gunning for them as well. I dont think we stand a chance to land either one of them. HOWEVER...there are some very good O-Lineman available who may not be as well-known as those two, but who could step right up and solidify our O-Line. I'm talking about guys like Jeff Backus of course who, if he does make it to FA, I think we have an excellent shot at him considering the Jauron connection. Definitely can't hurt. But with tackles like Jeff Backus, Ephraim Salaam, Jon Runyan, Kevin Shaffer, Tom Ashworth, LJ Shelton and Victor Riley... Along with guards like Stephen Neal, Tutan Reyes, Tom Nutten, Terrence Metcalf and Kyle Kosier... We have oodles of options. Honestly, I'd love to see Jeff Backus and Kevin Shaffer come to Buffalo in free agency...instand upgrades on the bookends of our O-Line.
  9. Here is some info Ryan O'Callaghan, who I'm convinced is going to be an Alan Faneca clone for some lucky team...lets hope its us! http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...ocallaghan.html From About.com's NFL Draft Preview Positives: Ryan O'Callaghan is a great All-American offensive tackle that dominates defenders. He led the way for one of the best rushing attacks in college football. He can make all the blocks, pushing defensive lineman into the secondary. Has great technique and adequate athleticism for his size. Will help any teams rushing attack and can start right away in the NFL. He is the new breed of offensive lineman in the NFL; Big! Negatives: There are not many negatives with Ryan's game. He is a little slow and unathletic at times. You will almost never see him pull because he lacks speed and athleticism. He can dominate defenders strictly with size in college, but will not be able to rely solely on his size in the NFL. Overview: He is a huge force that will translate well into the NFL. His great size matched with his even better technique makes him one of the best tackles in the draft. Look for him to be a second-round draft pick and starting right away in the NFL. The team that lands this massive offensive tackle will be very happy with what they get. NFL Comparison: Mark Tauscher Ryan O'Callaghan has really come on the last two years. Even though he played early on in his career, he truly began to shine as a junior in 2004. He earned All Pac 10 honors on the season. He entered this season with 23 consecutive starts on Cal's offensive line. --Once O'Callaghan locks on to you, it's all over. With his massive frame and strength, he has the ability to dominate at the point of attack. He is a mauler in every sense of the word. He combines his size advantage with excellent toughness, and he just continues to fight and claw even if he does not lock on off the snap. He will also bring some versatility to his NFL team, as he has a ton of experience at tackle, but projects more to guard at the next level.-- Come on guys...this guy looks like he was BORN to be a Buffalo Bill. http://www.sfgate.com/chronicle/pictures/2...-ocallaghan.jpg
  10. I agree, I'm a big fan of the Bills drafting Mr. O'Callaghan myself...I think he is dripping with NFL potential, especially if he switches to Guard. I'm just saying someone will take Scott by the end of the second, for sure.
  11. Jonathon Scott is interesting...his draft status is going to completely depend on how he performs at the Combine and his pro days. He wont drop out of the 2nd round no matter how badly he does, but he could surge into the mid 1st round, the guy does have the talent.
  12. Who can resist a picture like this? http://i12.ebayimg.com/01/i/05/e7/e4/df_1_b.JPG In case you want to buy it (and I know you do...) http://cgi.ebay.com/DICK-JAURON-Detroit-Li...bayphotohosting
  13. So does that mean you'll be donning the orange and teal?
  14. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I get it. Dick means penis, doesn't it?
  15. Like...Mike Mularkey?
  16. Both guys say Marv should be the head coach. So much for an actual analysis.
  17. "I am Bizarro Stormy" "I'm regular Stormy..."
  18. They cut to commercial saying "Does Dick Jauron deserve a THIRD Head Coaching job?" Uhhmm...he was kind of thrown into the last one, not like he was interviewed to be HC there, Mooch just bailed.
  19. Yeah because we all know McGahee LOVED Mike Mularkey's offense.
  20. Well we know, because of that terrible joke that Ralph told to kick off the press conference, that Sam Wyche was in the building and obviously on great terms with both Marv and Ralph. Methinks that joke would have made sense with Wyche telling it. But, I wouldnt be surprised at all if Wyche gets promoted to OC...I bet its already been discussed with Jauron (and lets face it, would Dick turn down a chance to have an ex-Coach of the Year and offensive mastermind run the offense for him? The guy went to Yale! He aint no dummy!)
  21. Whoa, whoa, whoa...all I heard was a reporter asking him if he learned anything in terms of hiring guys like Schoop (which I took it as saying how much of a failure Schoop was) and Jauron said "Yes". NOTHING about bringing Schoop in, if anything he acknowledged hiring Schoop was a mistake in Chicago.
  22. True...but our last two coaches came out and were overflowing with that "GO TEAM!" crap during their first press conferences, and look how they turned out. Maybe having a reserved head coach isn't such a bad thing.
  23. Dick Jauron turned me into a newt.
  24. I still feel pretty bad, I wont lie. BUT he didnt seem to be bothered at all by the criticism the fans and the press have dumped on him in just the last 24 hours since the news broke...I have to respect that about him that he wont tuck tail and run like Mularkey when the going gets tough.
