  1. Like I said in my last post, I dont think I'd be so angry if he got in later. But first ballot? With that record and lack of accomplishments? No way. I'll remember Warren Moon for never being able to even get to the big game, let alone win it, but hell apparently that was enough to send him to Canton. Go figure.
  2. We said he was definitely going to go in this year...and he didnt. Makes me think we might be in for a LONG wait.
  3. He played for 17 friggin seasons! Its called padding your stats, the guy does not belong. How about we put in Dave Krieg next? Get this, Krieg actually has a BETTER playoff record than Warren Moon does. 5-7! Won two more games than Moon did. 10th all time in pass attempts. 10th all time in completions. 11th all time in passing yards. 9th in Passing TDs. Does Krieg get in next because of his stats? He even made the Pro Bowl a couple of times too. The HOF committee dropped the ball on this one...maybe I wouldnt be too upset if Moon got in 5 years down the line, but when I think of first-ballot HOFers, I want that player to be iconic with that position. Warren Moon does not spring to mind when I think of the best QBs to play the position. If this were backyard football, the NFL HOF committee would have to call a do-over.
  4. I really dont like Warren Moon getting in...he was never elite in my mind. The guy played forever but never dominated...out of his 17-year career, he only threw more TDs than INTs seven times. Thats ten years of average play. 3-7 in the playoffs. Very streaky player who had flashes of solid play and then crapped out the next week. Or hell, sometimes the 2nd half (Comeback Game ring a bell?). Never played in a Superbowl. He has lots of stats because the guy played forever, but does not deserve a HOF nod in my opinion. He belongs in the Hall of Very Good, not to have his bust next to other QBs like Montana and Unitas.
  5. Its NOT the Pro Football Hall of Fame though, anyone who has been there can tell you that the CFL stats are not included. Putting Moon in, who won...what...2 NFL playoff games his entire career over Thurman really is insulting to me.
  6. COME ON!!!! This sucks. What a load of crap. Thurman left off the list.
  7. Yesterday afternoon they were talking about this on ESPNews, and all of them agreed it was just Tags trying to kick the players union in the butt. They all agreed that a deal would be reached, saying that both sides are just trying to see if they can make the other blink...but when time starts to run out, they'll cram out a new deal for sure. Too much at stake for them not to, right now they are just trying to see who can get the best deal. Nowhere near the NHL or MLB situations of the last few years. Think about it, its not just Buffalo who'd go down if there is no salary cap...the NFL would watch Buffalo, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Baltimore and Tampa Bay just die. There is no way that Tags wants his lasting memory to be the man who killed off those great teams.
  8. AJ would have to be huffing white-out in order for that trade to make sense to him.
  9. Pittsburgh 30 Seattle 21
  10. First pick with the Packers was improving the Defense, now time to replace the holes on the O-Line. The Green Bay Packers select Max Jean-Gilles, OG from Georgia
  11. The Tennessee Titans, after taking the #1 rated QB on the board, gleefully take the #1 rated ILB on the board to improve their interior Defense. The Titans select D'Qwell Jackson, ILB from Maryland
  12. With what cash? NY Jets $-29 M Over the Cap Obviously the Jets are really in bad shape here. If the team elects to keep Chad Pennington, they will have to fork over a $3M roster bonus. With a $6 M base salary -- and nearly $4M in this year's bonus proration -- they clearly cannot afford to keep him under the existing contract. However, it will cost them (cap-wise) about $10 M just to cut him. And they can forget about franchising John Abraham again. Expect the cost-cutting to begin soon. No wonder Herm Edwards wants to head to Kansas City!
  13. Him and Corey Dillon can get into knife fights.
  14. Its all about the money...the Colts tied a lot up a lot of cash in Peyton and Marvin, and basically made their decision to move on without Edge a year or so ago. Lets hope he gets out of the AFC...luckily we're pretty set in the division with RBs so there is little chance of him hitting the AFC East again. Sure the Jets need a RB, but they are also 30 million dollars OVER the cap...so hoorah for their screw-ups!
  15. Not really, Jimmy Williams' stock is falling fast in the last month. Poor attitude, plus the fact he was ejected from his last college game because he couldnt control his temper has sent up red flags over whether this kid can handle the NFL game.
  16. I'll be back online at 10am tomorrow for my early 2nd round choices.
  17. The POM!
  18. Uh oh...here come the Flyers.
  19. Why would that stop New Orleans from tagging him? Tag him and trade him, like we did with Peerless.
  20. The AskTheCommish numbers of 8 million that some people were quoting were the 2005 numbers. I remember ESPN making a big deal that the CB numbers were dropping in 2006, but we probably wont know for sure until the 2006 salary cap limit is announced.
  21. We really should keep all three of them. I really want to see Moulds end his career in Buffalo, and he's still the best WR we have. At this point, I'd dump Adams and Mike Williams though...doing that frees up roughly 7.2 million dollars. Add that to the 10 million we are under the cap right now. Franchise Nate for 6 million, leaving us with about 9 million to play with in free agency (2-3 million set aside for signing rookies and RFAs). Thats still enough for 3 new starters right there...AND we get to keep Moulds and Nate. Seems reasonable to me.
  22. Ngata. Or Jesus. Although there is definitely concern with Jesus' size and ability to play in a 4-3 Defense.
  23. We can cross Tom Nalen off the list of potential FA pickups...just re-signed with Denver.
  24. Mike Williams needs to go...in fact, cutting him is probably the only way we can afford a stud like Bentley and still pick up another O-Line starter and DT in free agency. The Duke can move to guard if we somehow manage to get LeCharles, sign Jeff Backus to man our LT spot and get another OT and OG in the Draft to solidify the line. Then we'd be cooking.
  25. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3588 http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3589 Johnny Holland for LB coach and George Catavolos as DB coach. Oh baby, we're finally getting a piece of that sweet Detroit Lions coaching staff pie
