Astro's 3rd Annual Draft Game, ROUND 3a
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So who did we pick in the first and second again? Ngata and...? -
Salary cap Update 2/24
BillsGuyInMalta replied to clumping platelets's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just using my own jugement here, 4.7 is probably only enough to tender our free agents, re-sign our RFAs and get our draft picks under contract. So basically more cutting has to go if we want to make any FA splash. -

Not nearly enough. Methinks Moulds is going bye-bye. -

Bills cap situation not as good as thought
BillsGuyInMalta replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ESPN has never gotten our salary cap right though. Remember last year where Clayton came out and said we were only 400,000 under the cap? Then THAT VERY DAY we went out and signed Kelly Holcomb? The national media just guesstimates. -
For The Super-Hero Movie Lovers Out There
BillsGuyInMalta replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Venom character is indeed one of the best characters ever created. They always did a good job in the comic books of showing how Venom was the darker side of human nature while Spider-Man was his opposite. As for this movie, my best guess is that they'll explain Venom two ways. Either they'll say the living suit hitched a ride with Jameson's son the astronaut (who was introduced in the 2nd one) from the moon...and then BAM...its on Earth, you can write out the rest how it attaches itself to Spidey, then to Eddie Brock (Venom). Or, you could just have it be created in a lab as a weapon of some kind. Should be interesting to see what they do with it...still, I'm happy the V-Man is in this. As part of the younger generation, he was always my favorite when I grew up reading the spidey comics. -
http://www.superherohype.com/images/spidey3.jpg Now I'll admit, I do kind of keep up with all of the movie news because I'm a crazy person...but I got excited when I saw this poster since I've thought the Spider-Man movies have been damn impressive. Plus, anyone who was a fan of the comics can tell you who the villian is just by checking out the picture (if you're not a fan, it'll probably come off as pretty boring ). I heard they're going with two villians this time, with the other being the Sandman. One old villian. One new.

The Nerd Takes More Shots At Us
BillsGuyInMalta replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh, maybe I'm just a little overly sensitive when it comes to Clayton lately. Guy had himself a freak-out when Donahoe was fired, said he was going to get signed later that week by another team's front office...and then nothing. Plus, the fact that Clayton ALWAYS gets things wrong really pisses me off. I know thats his job over at E$PN, but its still a kick in the crotch to see him with his success rate when it comes to accurate stories slightly above ProFootballTalk.com Makes me think any one of us could do his job. -
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/colu...john&id=2342210 Honestly, a majority of it deals with the CBA problems, but dont you love his little condescending attitude towards us?

NFL.com: Vic's blog 610052[/snapback] See! Marv took a crack at it! Who knows, he could have caught Polian in the middle of a drunken binge and might have pulled it off.

It's Official....Bills Release OT Mike Williams!
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
4.6 for this season? Sure. In fact, thats actually pretty high for Year One of an O-Lineman contract. BUT signing Bentley means mucho backloading contracts, no matter what team gets him. -

Isn't Jason Peters our Right Tackle though? Seems to me the Bills need a LT. -
It's Official....Bills Release OT Mike Williams!
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bryant McKinnie shouldnt be laughing at all, rumors are he also might get released this offseason because of his inconsistent play (not to mention the whole Love Boat incident that he was a key figure in.) But, thank GOD Mike Williams got released. Think about this...we could get TWO quality O-Lineman for the price of Mike Williams inept talent. Good move by Marv, keep chopping away...there are others who need to go as well. -
Lions Franchise Jeff Backus

Shaffer is my top choice, but there are other guys with good LT experience like LJ Shelton or Matt Lepsis. Even Tom Ashworth from the Patriots has some experience at it. -

BillsGuyInMalta replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The key word is "potentially" though. You're right, he could come out and be our answer at LT...but what if the guy just flops badly? By the time we find that out, it'll be training camp and all of the serious LT options will be gone...and we'll be stuck with Mike F'N Gandy as our LT again. To me, the risks are just far too great...bring in an LT, keep Peters at RT. Much better that way. -
Rams Fans think they are getting Ngata
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The good news is the guys with a lot of hype around them (Cutler, DeAngelo Williams, Lendale White) are surging up the draft boards...give it a month and Ngata could easily drop into our laps. Plus since we dont need any of those 3 guys, it also helps our chances at getting a trade down if thats the route Marv wants to take. Maybe even another unexpected surprise could happen, you never really know with the Draft. -
Bills Bringing in 3rd QB Option
BillsGuyInMalta replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its time to play "Who's the most hilarious option we could possibly bring in that would piss off the entire Wall?" Anthony Wright UFA Ravens Charlie Batch UFA Steelers Chris Simms RFA Buccaneers Chris Weinke UFA Panthers Craig Nall UFA Packers Damon Huard UFA Chiefs Dave Ragone RFA Texans Doug Flutie UFA Patriots Drew Brees UFA Chargers Jamie Martin UFA Rams Jay Fiedler UFA Dolphins Jeff Blake UFA Bears Jeff Garcia UFA Lions Jesse Palmer UFA 49ers Jon Kitna UFA Bengals Josh McCown UFA Cardinals Ken Dorsey RFA 49ers Kliff Kingsbury RFA Jets Sage Rosenfels UFA Dolphins Seneca Wallace RFA Seahawks Shane Matthews UFA Bills Shaun Hill UFA Vikings Tim Hasselbeck UFA Giants Todd Collins UFA Chiefs Ty Detmer UFA Falcons Vinny Testaverde UFA Jets Come on Doug Flutie or Todd Collins...we know that Marv has a connection with Collins! -
Lions Franchise Jeff Backus

For this offseason, what I'd like to see is 2 FA starters be brought in. Even if they end up being the only FAs we sign, I think it would be worth it. A new LT, a new LG and a new Center. Whichever position is not filled through FA, we should make our first or 2nd round pick. -

The love of Peters playing LT next season truly amazes me. He's started what...8 games in his entire NFL career? And now we want to toss a converted TE to the most important position on the O-Line? Now that being said, I DO think Peters is a capable starter, but I have nightmares about him trying to protect Losman's blindside. Kepp him at RT where he was solid, and lets bring in a FA to man the LT spot. I still have my fingers crossed that Kevin Shaffer makes it to free agency. He's the guy I want, and would let us have more versatility with our Offensive Line. -

Astro's 3rd Annual Draft Game, ROUND 1
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Ngata is there, I think you have to take him in order to solve our D-Line problems. Not a flashy pick, but will stop the 5-6 yard bursts up the middle we saw last season. However, say Ngata gets picked and our options are Huff or Winston Justice...I think you got to go with Huff, even though Safety technically isnt that big of a need compared to O-Line or D-Line. I'm a big fan of Huff and think he will truly excel at the NFL level...and I'm somewhat reserved on Justice considering he's only played RT in his career and if I remember correctly, got suspended for all of 2004. I'd take Huff and see what the ballhawk can do in our secondary. -

It is Official....Bills Tag Clements!
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Mike32282's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dont worry, we're only a few days away from the start of free agency...5 minutes into March 1st we'll have our standard-issued The Wall freak-out over the lack of activity from Marv. Then it'll be back to its gloomy self. -

NFL Draft Countdown, which is IMO the best draft site out there, projects him as a 3rd to 4th rounder. Thats what I used in my mock. -

Considering Option B would be having Eric King as our 2nd CB...and Option C is going out and signing the defensive megastars that are UFAs like...R.W. McQuarters or Terry Fair...I'm happy with the franchise move.
