I like the move...the backups for Favre have done pretty well, and the kid does have great poise in the pocket. At the very least, he'll be interesting to watch in the preseason. Also, here is the KFFL report on this: Bills | Team agrees to terms with Nall Sun, 19 Mar 2006 21:53:43 -0800 Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports the Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with free agent QB Craig Nall (Packers) on a three-year contract. Financial terms were not released. In Buffalo, Nall will be behind QB J.P. Losman, who was supposed to be the team's franchise quarterback, and QB Kelly Holcomb. However, it's thought the Bills could part with one of the two quarterbacks and Nall will have a chance to fight for the starting job this summer.

Bills | Chicago thinking over Idonije offer sheet Sun, 19 Mar 2006 21:32:49 -0800 John Mullin and K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, report the Chicago Bears will have further internal discussions Monday, March 20, on whether to match the four-year, $8.2 million offer sheet that restricted free agent DL Israel Idonije signed with the Buffalo Bills. The Bears are leaning toward doing so. -

Yeah, they'd be all over Mario like stank on a monkey if they stay at #2.

Kiwi can easily drop to the 2nd round, in fact most mocks I'm seeing have him lasting until the early to mid 2nd round.

Very nice Bills picks, although If we are going to go after a FB in the later rounds, I'd rather see us snagging a guy like Matt Bernstein in the sixth round instead. Guy is like a young version of Lorenzo Neal and can be lead-blocking for McGahee for the next few years. I especially like the Boothe pick, I think that kid is going to be a stud on someone's O-Line for the next decade. Plus, who better to draft the Ivy Leaguer than our own Ivy Leaguers?

Minnesota, Baltimore, Arizona, Oakland, and Tenn will be looking at QBs in the Draft. As it stands now (because I keep hearing the Jets trading up for Leinart is a possibility as well, but no reason to speculate until it happens), I see the Titans taking Leinart, the Raiders taking Young...which leaves three teams gunning for Cutler. One of them will panic and at least attempt to trade up, I truly believe that.

Sabres at Senators March 18th
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is the silver lining to this game. The Sabres were on the road, they were missing two of their top scorers and were just outplayed in every aspect of the game (except goaltending)...and they only lost by one goal. I'm hoping that this game will quiet the people who think the Sabres are the best team in the NHL. They still have a lot of work to do, and it was clear tonight they still cant hang with the Sens. We'll see how they respond now, the next 3 games are huge. Hopefully against Atlanta they'll get their confidence back, and they hopefully can take it to both Carolina and Ottawa at home. -

Sadly, its just not our night. Still, you have to feel somewhat good that considering just how bad the Sabres have been outplayed in this game, they're still only a goal down. -

Not falling on the sword at all, from what I've seen in this game so far I'm simply stating they are looking pretty craptacular. I think the Sabres will use this game as a great learning tool...but its not looking good tonight, thats for sure. You can just tell sometimes when your team is off their game, and its painfully obvious the Sabres are elsewhere tonight. -

Eh, at least they avoid being shut out. And they give the Sens a HUGE powerplay right after the goal. -

3-0 now. Its ovah rock, stay down! Sabres came in completely unprepared for this one...lets just hope it doesnt kill their confidence completely. Sabres arent tops in the NHL, they are just a good team who have a LOT to learn to hang with the big boys. -

And to think, people were actually hyping the Sabres up as the BEST team in the NHL. Clearly someone forgot to tell the Sens that -

Oy...Sabres getting a red-ass beatdown so far. 2-0 already, and its just in the first period. They are getting an INSANE amount of shots on us, and we cant get anything on their net. Sabres look like a bunch of amateurs out there tonight. Methinks the Cup talk was just a smidge premature. -
Bears DE Idonije signs offer sheet with Bills
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Spanky46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was almost as confusing as the original ESPN article! To me, coming out saying that the Bears are EXPECTED to do something means they've given an indication they are going to go and match the offer. Clearly, Clayton feels strongly enough in his own assertions by claiming the Bears will match...and yet then the very next sentence he states that the Bears arent making it known what they are going to do...so is Clayton just guessing here? I see your point that he could be referring to the Bears not showing their hand, but to me it seems poorly written and confusing. His first sentence makes it sound like he's completely confident, then he immediately seems to give himself an escape route in case the Bears dont match it so he can just say "Oh well, I said they weren't sure! Cant blame me!". Very wishy-washy if you ask me, but thats how The Nerd writes. I know, I know...I'm being a journalist Nazi here, but I'd like to think the national media has some standards for reporting here. By the way, if he is just guessing at this point...how can I get under an ESPN contract and just guesstimate my way to a weekly paycheck? -
Bears DE Idonije signs offer sheet with Bills
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Spanky46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bears will have seven days to match, and with $9.6 million of cap room, they are expected to do so. The Bears aren't saying exactly what they are going to do. New Bills coach Dick Jauron has enough knowledge from his days as the Bears' coach to project how Idonije will fit into Buffalo's new defense. So let me get this straight Clayton...The Bears are expected to match the offer, but you arent sure what they are going to do? Does anyone at ESPN proof-read these things? -

Sweet, Brady Quinn throwing to Lee Evans. I'd be down with that...and all it would take is just another year of total misery...come one people, we should be used to this by now.

Do you think Steve Neal is a possibility?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We can only hope. Signing Neal and Wells would improve our interior O-Line greatly. -
Levy on the verge of destroying his legacy.
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Is Marv Awake?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, since I posted that I've seen a lot of mocks with the Steelers taking him with the last pick in the first round, but its definitely within the realm of possibility that if he makes it past them, he'll land with us. However, if he doesnt get to our early 2nd round pick, I'd substitute Mangold with the best available guard, whether that be Joseph (who I love...he's also versatile which is a huge plus on our craptacular O-Line) or Giles, and then I'd change the Lutui pick to the best available tackle to help strengthen the O-Line. I figure I'll update my draft at the beginning of April to compensate for any Bills signings...no need to draft a young QB like Gradowski if the Bills sign a young QB like Nall. -

Because clearly, we fans...who have never held an NFL position in our lives and have never played in an NFL game...can make better judgements than old people. Because their old. And stupid. And we're not. Duh. -
Looks like we got ourselves a crusader! Nice knowin' you.

The tackles are vanishing from the FA market and Marv still seems to be twiddling his thumbs. If we dont go out and get a guy like Runyan, we'll end up with Gandy at LT...AGAIN.
