  1. Setterstrom could be a good pro, but he's just not bulky or strong enough I think to work for the Bills system. I know that Minnesota runs a zone blocking scheme for all of their O-Lineman (which means he's got to be technically sound), but that same zone-blocking system he came from in college makes me pretty skeptical of him in the NFL, at least in terms of how much he could help the Bills. He'd probaby fit better with the Broncos who use a zone blocking concept for their O-Linemen.
  2. Problem is that slump began on January 7th, not late March into early April. This is the time when teams SHOULD be getting themselves prepared for a playoff run, not flopping like a fish out of water. Very frustrating to watch.
  3. I'm not off the bandwagon at all, they'll make the playoffs. But playing as they have been lately, they dont deserve it. I'd be surprised if anyone would argue otherwise. And this whole "oh, every team loses a few" doesnt apply any longer...teams go through slumps, but they dont close in on almost 9 straight games of terrible play without something being seriously wrong with the squad. I drank the Sabres Kool-Aid like everyone else, I'm glad they'll squeak into the playoffs and put an end to this long drought...but I had such high hopes for this team that have been crushed in the last two weeks. They're just above-average. If that.
  4. I think we really need to draft a Guard in the 2nd round rather than the third. In the 2nd, we're looking at options like Giles, Joseph, Lutui and Spencer (I really dont see anyone stretching to take a Guard in the first, unless its one of the last few picks). Giles and Joseph are immediate starters on most O-Lines while Spencer and Lutui might take a year or two, but they are both definite future starters. In the third, the only Guards who will be around are Jason Spitz, Kevin Boothe and Rob Sims...all of them looking more like projects to me than guys who can step up and contribute right away. However, there should be some decent OTs still available in the early third (O'Callahan, Colledge, Whitworth, Trueblood) and some very nice DTs (Dvoracek, Mahelona, Harris, Oshinowo), which makes me think that the Bills could afford to hold off until the 3rd to take either position unless a huge star at OT or DT falls to them in the first or second. Either way, because this draft is so deep at both OT and DT, its improving our options.
  5. Sabres really have no business in the playoffs, now every team loses a few...but come on, 5-0 at the end of the 1st against the friggin Leafs? Not to mention 7 of the last 8 being losses. This meltdown is truly epic.
  6. Ahhhh the Sabres...its hard to have a winning record and be a lock for the playoffs but STILL be the biggest joke in the NHL. This is pathetic.
  7. Check out the NFLDraftCountdown.com forums. I think there are two or three 7 rounders floating over there.
  8. Wait, whats all this I'm hearing about Eric Moulds?
  9. 49ers | Team could move up or down in the NFL Draft or stay put Sat, 1 Apr 2006 06:56:15 -0800 Matthew Barrows, of the Sacramento Bee, reports the San Francisco 49ers not only are willing to trade down in the first round of the April 29 NFL Draft but will be receptive to offers of trading up as well. "We've at least talked about it," head coach Mike Nolan said this week at the owners' meeting in Orlando, Fla. The 49ers currently have 11 picks in the draft, including four in the first three rounds, and the coach admitted he has been getting numerous inquiries, some serious, some not, over the last few days. Nolan is quite pleased with the 49ers' positioning and predicted there will be "more than one player we like" when it is their turn to pick. More likely scenarios, however, have the 49ers staying put at No. 6 or trading that pick for even more selections. WOW...good job at getting the scoop Mr. Matty Barrows from the Sacramento Bee. Thats some groundbreaking analysis right there.
  10. Every time I see that highlight show, I still hope Norwood makes the kick.
  11. I really dislike Broderick Bunkley at #8, I'm not comfortable with a guy who soars up the draft boards AFTER the season is done, based on being a workout warrior. Too many teams have been burned by players like that.
  12. I kind of take pride in it whenever anyone ribs me about being a Bills fan. Even when we're low, I still love this team and dig the experience of watching them grow. And just think, when we do get dominant again...the world is going to have loud, obnoxious Bills fans once more, and what a day that shall be.
  13. Thats a pretty groovy mock, I'm a big fan of Darryn Colledge myself, he's the type of guy who'll never be a huge NFL megastar but I guarantee he'll start on someone's O-Line for the next decade. And I really like Croyle, but with Nall being signed I dont think there is much room for another QB to join the fray.
  14. Oh man, back in the ol' Undergrad U we used to make the trip to Mohegan Sun quite a bit. Lets just say my experiences there were a lot like one of my favorite Simpsons scenes ever. http://www.eventsounds.com/wav/homrblkj.wav
  15. The hubbub or the brewhaha? Because there is a dark and disturbing tale for each. Ahhhhh, my favorite Wall thread EVER. Glad to see the ol' girl pop up again.
  16. Thats the problem, its not being offered...for some reason the Texans are dragging their feet on this it seems. I guess they didnt learn their lesson when they lost out on Orlando Pace last year, if you are too slow or try to hold out when you have zero leverage, you'll be left extremely disappointed.
  17. *sigh* Let me guess, you're judging everything from that highlight video that was posted on the site a few weeks back, correct? I'm a Texas fan, I've watched this guy for awhile...he tackles more like Antoine Winfield than anything else, goes right for the legs and takes the ballcarrier completely out of the play. Thats one of the staples of his games, being a punishing tackler. For some reason that video included all of his wacky, crazy plays where he was running all over the place instead of the boring stop-em-at-the-line-of-scrimmage plays Texas fans have come to see over the last few years. Trust me, Huff is lights out with his tackles. Not to say he doesnt have his faults (he is a bit of a gambler, a lot like Nate in that department) but anyone who has studied him knows that his tackling is textbook.
  18. It looks like he handled Ngata pretty well actually. I didnt see the game but the stats in front of me are pretty stacked in Joseph's favor. Paved the way for 149 yards on the ground and Ngata only got two assisted tackles in the entire game...no sacks, no registered pressures.
  19. Actually, somewhat related to this topic...but Houston fans are starting to get nervous because of the reports that nothing will progress until Monday. I've scanned over their message board and they are now yelling for their GM to just accept the 4th round payment and get it over with before the Bills find a better offer and take Moulds from them. So it looks like slowing things down over the next few days should work in our advantage in terms of getting good compensation.
  20. Or tub girl...*shudder* You realize the problem in bringing these up though, correct? People will start getting curious if they havent seen them yet, and then we'll get blamed for the horrors we unleashed upon The Wall.
  21. Davin Joseph out of Oklahoma is the solution to our LG spot. Every new thing I hear about this kid, the more I love him. He's strong, smart, versatile, a team player (played Guard his entire life but volunteered to take over LT when his teammate got hurt), and claims that the player he modeled his style over was former Bills guard, Ruben Brown. I say take him in the 2nd and put the LG spot out of your mind for the next 5 years because this kid has all the tools to dominate in the NFL. In fact, the only negative thing I've read about him is his height (only 6'3). But even thats not such a bad thing if he's playing Guard. As long as he's got the bulk, wingspan and strength (which he does) than his height shouldnt matter too much. To me, he's the best choice for us in the 2nd, regardless of what we do in the first. Here's some info on him, Draft Countdown rates him as the #1 Guard (although most sites have Giles ahead of him). http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...avinjoseph.html http://www.footballsfuture.com/2006/prospe...vin_joseph.html http://2006.ontheclockdraft.com/profile.ph...721053091536786
  22. Psshh...all of you have been detached from college life far too long, I've seen much, much, MUCH more disturbing things sent to my computer than that. In fact, I think my computer is eligible for psychiatric counseling with all its seen.
  23. Isn't Faine the constantly injured, underachieving and lazy center from the Browns? And wasnt he the one the Browns were SO satisfied with...they immediately bolted out in FA and signed a big name replacement for him? Yep...sounds like a Bill to me.
  24. A speed bump would imply that he slowed someone down...he more or less just got out of their way and let everyone by him.
