Anyone hear anything about Reyes?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to this, he signed after visiting Buffalo "last week" (of when the article was posted). http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=3707 I really like what I've read and seen out of Reyes so I got my fingers crossed he's a Bill by the end of the week. -

We still definitely could. Apparently Peerless visited a good week and a half before he ended up signing, so it could be tomorrow when we hear that Reyes has signed. -
I like the Huff and Williams picks, but Whitworth will probably be around in the 3rd round (maybe even the 4th) and I'm not very high on taking yet another WR for this team...we've already got what? 10? No need for another. And before anyone points it out, I know I have the Bills taking a WR in my own mock, but that was before we signed Peerless and added another to the heap.

I think a big reason for this trade was because a couple of weeks ago a story was floating around that Denver may want to trade one of their firsts for lower picks because they wouldnt have enough cap space to sign two first rounders.

No shutouts ALL YEAR. Then, the last two
BillsGuyInMalta replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely a great season for the Sabres...they're getting hot at the right time and looking tough in all aspects of the game. PLUS...Hecht will be coming back! Another plus. -
GREAT first five picks, I dig them a lot. I've done a little more research on McCargo lately and like what I've read about him. The only problem I have with the draft is (and its been mentioned in this thread before), a lot of your later picks have no chance of being there at that round. Although to give you another prop, Gerald Riggs is a good selection in the 6th...thats fairly accurate where he'll go.

FWI... Per NFL Network...Texans to take...
BillsGuyInMalta replied to KOKBILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Guys...this is Adam Schefter we are talking about. The same guy who "scooped" the Bills being forced to release Eric Moulds and keeping Tom Donahoe for the 2006 season as their GM. He also "guaranteed" that Drew Brees would be the QB for Miami and Ahman Green would be playing football in a Ravens uniform this season. Next to Clayton, he has the least amount of credibility out of ALL the NFL "reporters" in my opinion. -
Rick Gosselin's mock draft

Oooooo man, The Wall would damn near EXPLODE if that happened. -
Should be a GREAT series if it ends up Sabres vs Devils.

Kiper's latest 4 Round Mock
BillsGuyInMalta replied to BuffBills#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is the problem though, you're asking me to ignore the fact that Bunkley didnt produce until last season, that he was...essentially...a glorified back-up at FSU because he couldnt crack the top talent there. You're asking me to ignore the injuries, the torn ACL and MCL in the same knee. You're asking me to ignore the lack of size and how he might struggle with the bigger OGs and Centers he'll see in the NFL. Instead, I'm supposed to be happy that he had ONE good season, that just so happened to be his last? I'm not advocating Ngata by the way either, and the Wadsworth comment was made in terms of the effort that he gave once he reached the NFL. I just dont see that much of a gap between Ngata, Bunkley and the rest of the DT field in this draft...so why waste a #8 overall pick on one when we could easily get a solid starter in the 2nd or possibly even 3rd round that are essentially equal talent? Ngata has his faults, but so does Bunkley...both of which scare me off either of them. I understand as an FSU fan you're obligated to give the guy some love, but I just dont want to take a chance on someone with SO many question marks over his consistency and talent translation into the NFL. -
Kiper's latest 4 Round Mock
BillsGuyInMalta replied to BuffBills#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just say no to Bunkley. How many years did he contribute at FSU? How many years did he show he was worthy of such a high pick? One. This year. Before that, he barely made it into the rotation, and even when he did...he flopped. Then this offseason, he suddenly surges into the Top 10? Uh-uh. This guy has workout warrior written all over him. Big with the attributes but showed nothing on the field until last season. If the Bills draft Bunkley, then the Draft is off to a terrible start since they once again bought into the hype of yet another flop. Give me a guy like Huff or Justice, guys who have demonstrated their skills for years at the college level AND have the potential to translate that game into the NFL. To me, Bunkley is just the second coming of Andre Wadsworth...big with the measureables, low on the football consistency. -
Andrew Peters .... 10 minute misconduct
BillsGuyInMalta replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was HILARIOUS from Peters, I tivo'd the game and had to re-watch that a couple of times. FORE! -
Miller had FORTY-THREE saves tonight. Jeebus. Looks like someone is back on his game.

http://www.thehuddlereport.com/top100/index.shtml That should help. Just scroll down past the first chart and you'll have some info to use. Doesnt give you exact numbers on who got what person to the right team, but still...better than nothing.

Yup...I agree, there really is no reason to go after a DT with our #8 overall, simply because the talent drop-off doesnt seem that substantial to me. Plenty of good options will be open to us in the early 2nd and would be better values at that point. I'm still on the Winston Justice train, the more I hear about him the more I like...and heck, if we draft him with our 1st and Joseph with our 2nd...instant upgrades along the O-Line right there. That being said, I wont be complaining too much if we land Vernon Davis...the kid is a freak and would help fill the void that Emo left in terms of our receiving game. The Bills are thankfully in a position where it will be VERY difficult, even for them, to screw this pick up.

Bills interested in Dwight Smith

Sadly, we got a 5th for Emo. -

BillsGuyInMalta replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd give up our 4th for Smith...not our 3rd though, we need those picks to improve the O-Line. 4th for sure. -
No love for Davin Joseph in the 2nd? I'd honestly take him above all of those guys (aside from Bing). EDIT: Oooooo Dennis snuck in ahead of me with the same idea.

The Buffalo Bills are on the clock
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I voted for Winston Justice, but I wont be upset at all if Vernon Davis ends up being the pick. In this draft, there are 4 options I'd be happy with: Justice, Huff, Davis or Trade Down. I'd be "okay" with Ngata and I'd be pissed with Bunkley. -
Bills | K. Thomas released Thu, 13 Apr 2006 21:08:49 -0700 The Buffalo Bills have released CB Kevin Thomas (knee). He has been trying to fight his way back from a knee injury. Bills | J. Smith re-signed Thu, 13 Apr 2006 21:06:56 -0700 The Buffalo Bills have re-signed exclusive-rights free agent WR Jonathon Smith to his one-year, $425,000 tender offer.

And his on the field performance (which SHOULD be the most important factor for Bills fans) was downright non-existant before his senior season. Do we want to spend the #8 overall pick on a guy who only played well for a single season? No thank you when it comes to Bunkley, that guy has "workout warrior" written all over him. Give me Huff or Justice, kids who have dominated at their jobs for at least three seasons.

MANATEES! idea balls!
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know, but it makes sense...most of Adult Swim's cartoons are 15 minute ones while Venture Brothers is your typical half hour show...and if they got slated to produce +20 new episodes its obviously going to take them longer to make. You gotta love The Monarch though...the episode towards the end of the season where Dr. Venture finds out all you have to do is call the cops on your arch-nemesis and The Monarch gets sent to prison is hilarious. The whole "MTV Scared Straight" segment was brilliant. -

Thats actually an excellent comparison. The Critic's comedy, when watched today with the DVD set, still holds up...but its very dated material. For those who remember what movies they are creating parodies for, its downright hilarious...but as time goes on the jokes make less and less sense since pop culture obviously has changed. The same will happen to Family Guy...since almost ALL of its jokes are references to movies, 70s or 80s tv shows or other pop culture items...the shows really are only funny to those who remember the reference while shows like South Park and The Simpsons will have more lasting appeal. On animated show that I do love and think has amazing potential is an Adult Swim one called "The Venture Brothers". I watched a few episodes last week and just couldnt stop laughing, its actually some of the funniest writing I've seen for a TV show in a loooooonnnnng time.
