  1. Someone's keyboard has caught the herpes!
  2. His own man kind of hung him out to dry there, basically a pass right in the middle of the Sabres defense...I mean, what did he EXPECT was going to happen to his teammate? I'm glad Umberger isnt seriously hurt though, that was the type of hit that could sidetrack careers. In a lot of ways, it was a statement hit too for the Sabres. They blew their lead, a lot of people were calling the "no playoff experience" card as a reason for it (and perhaps it was), but the Sabres showed a tremendous amount of toughness and strength to pull out the victory. Before the game started, I actually had this game slated as one the Sabres would lose. I had them winning the series in six, but I felt with a veteran and physical team like Philly, they'd make the first game their best game since they had plenty of rest. It seems they did exactly that, but the Sabres still found a way to pick up the win. I still say Sabres in six, but they showed a lot of grit tonight that some people were convinced they didnt have.
  3. *Super Troopers ON* "Mother of God" *Super Troopers OFF* That hit made me want to rethink my religion, BRUTAL!
  4. Just got back from the bars (watched the OT game in Albany). Great win for the Sabres, you really do feel bad for Esche since he had the Sabres beat a couple of times. But...so it goes. 1-0 sounds good to me...this is the type of game that just deflates an opponent.
  5. Tied 2-2 with minute left. WOW...Sabres have hit the wall. Talk about not finishing your plays...Flyers have taken advantage of the PP while the Sabres bombed out at it. All the momentum is with Philly now.
  6. Flyers finally get on the board. 2-1 Sabres are tossing everything at Philly but the Flyers are playing them tough and just got back in the game. Sabres need to get that powerplay working, 0-4 tonight. And now they just got a penalty to cap off the 2nd...they're suddenly playing VERY dumb.
  7. Actually, most of the draft previews I've read project him at SS (in fact one declares he might take some time to learn the CB at the NFL level, but plug him in right away at SS and he'll dominate). I personally have no problems with Huff at #8.
  8. Isnt that what the Bills need though? A ballhawk at the Safety position for the Cover 2 like Huff? I'm beginning to think more and more that if he's available at #8, he's the choice.
  9. Flyers are playing tough though...methinks they're going to come out swinging in the 2nd, try to push us as hard as they can.
  10. Its a White Out, the Sabres gave away free white t-shirts and pom poms for the game.
  11. Wroten will be taken by the end of Day One...there are teams who are willing to look beyond his character issues and bank on his skills. Not saying we should do it (I'm very anti-Wroten actually) but I feel very confident he'll be taken in the 3rd.
  12. Time to "irish up" that coffee my friend.
  13. Houston: Reggie Bush New Orleans: Mario Williams Tennessee: Matt Leinart NY Jets: Jay Cutler (Oh yes...there will be booing) Green Bay: AJ Hawk San Francisco: Vernon Davis Oakland: Vince Young Buffalo: D'Brickashaw Ferguson Detroit: Michael Huff Arizona: Winston Justice
  14. Groovy, thats some great work!
  15. I really dont have any problem with Bunkley's "character" problems, as nod was saying, he stole a video game from a Wal-Mart 3 years ago but thats not going to make me get the vapors and start calling for the smelling salts. I'm more concerned with how in every report I've read about them, all of them use the word "soft" when they describe him. Not very tough at all, and that scares the hell out of me. Also, the fact that he only was good for one season and before that he was just another backup DT in the FSU rotation. It makes me think he hyped up his game because he knew a big time NFL contract depended on it...and without that carrot dangling in front of him, he'll go back to just simply not producing. I'm very reluctant to give a big-time contract to someone who has only on year of solid play under his belt.
  16. Please. Dont try to make this a "holier than thou" argument because LaVar Arrington is one of the worst examples you could go to. They guy could care less about the Skins when he was there, it was all about him. If a fan dislikes a player, no reason to hold back. When I bash a non-Bill, it takes an awful lot to get me going...but LaVar has done NOTHING in the last two seasons that makes me think he's anywhere near what he used to be and worthy of such a huge contract. Thats not limited to non-Bills, I feel the same way about Peerless' new contract which is completely unjustified. You've got to ask yourself why Arrington didnt find himself in many games...it was a combination of injuries and a poor attitude. The injuries werent his fault, but you cant ignore them. Arrington complained to the press, he whined on the sidelines, and when he did get into games he couldnt keep up with the speed, I didnt see him excel at all. When you've had THAT much damage to your knees, teams should be weary of you...and the fact that Arrington had some reservations about just going through physicals this offseason tells me even he's not too confident about how he'll hold up. To me, thats not worth a 49 million dollar contract, but as they say...a sucker is born every minute. I think when it comes to guys like Arrington who disrespect the fans and their teams, they deserve to get bashed by the fans in response for their poor attitude. Its not automatic trashing by any means, I've been a big fan of the moves by other teams this offseason (Browns, Philly, Seattle spring to mind) but when something this silly comes across the wire, I cant help but comment on how dumb it seems to me.
  17. Giants should be happy...they got their malcontent, injured and totally ineffective linebacker they've always wanted! LaVar has been a shell of himself the last two seasons, he's got no cartilage left in the ol' knees and is the ultimate "me" first player.
  18. GREAT find. Yahoo puts up their highlights this week for basically every player in the Draft, so I'm looking forward to seeing highlights on some of the lesser known players. Whoa, check out the Gradkowski highlights...kid's got a cannon! Too bad 95% of those highlights were againt Kentucky or Ohio One thing I've noticed right off the bat is the huge problem with any of these highlight videos. Great for entertainment, but I wouldnt use them for scouting. A normal fan will watch a highlight video and judge EVERYTHING by the collection in front of him. Its a bad idea since most of the time the highlight package doesnt tell the whole story. Case in point, Vernon Davis. If you knew NOTHING about Vernon Davis...after watching that highlight film of him, you'd be totally underwhelmed. I counted only one dominant play in that entire series, with the rest of them making him looking downright pedestrian. However, everyone knows Davis is a freak and amazingly talented...that highlight package doesnt do him justice. Thats why I kind of chuckle when I hear people pass judgement on a player based on watching a fan-made (or Sports network made) highlight package...there are literally hours of footage on every player, yet we fans assume that based on 30 seconds of viewing...we can make a sound decision on whether or not that player will be a bust in the NFL.
  19. A-Yup...thats the first thing I thought of too. Create some panic, stir the pot...see who wants to trade up (*cough cough* Minnesota or Baltimore *cough cough*).
  20. Its all good. Besides, that might work in our favor...Andre Hall = 12 time Pro Bowler. *goes to NFLDraftCountdown.com to find out who Andre Hall is*
  21. Yeah, we should have held out, released Eric and gotten nothing in return. That would show the rest of the NFL how smart we are!
  22. Not a big fan on Bunkley, I still havent heard a good argument for him aside from "Look at him! He looks strong!" from FSU fans. Getting Cedric Griffin in the 3rd would be too good to pass up, but I think if the Bills truly want a LG starter out of this draft, they cant wait until the second 3rd rounder we have...they have to make their 2nd rounder be spent on an OG if we want him to start this season.
  23. Well at least thats somewhat settled now... Anyone else think that Tags would have had no problem letting the Bills die if they didnt create such a huge public awareness over their plight?
  24. And what if both are gone by our second rounder? Wouldnt you feel at least slightly more comfortable bringing Reyes in for, at the very least, depth purposes before the draft? As the Draft starts getting closer and closer, I'm getting the sense there is going to be a run on the Guards in the early 2nd round with teams like the Texans, Titans and Packers picking them over before we even get a choice. Lets face it, with whats left in FA we arent going to get the perfect player, they all have faults..but Reyes looks like he's got some valuable starting experience and has some talent...with the oodles of cap space we got, why not?
