Bills and Eagles continue to talk

I agree, I mean in retrospect it doesnt look like a good move but at the time Terrell looked to be a budding star. But alas...the Michigan WR curse struck him down. -

Not that much safer...out of the 14th picks I think Davis, Harris and Shockey have turned (or will turn if Davis' rookie year is any indication) into very good pros. Out of the 8th pick, Hall, Gross and Williams look to be good NFL players. Terrell is...well, I dont have to go there, guy is flop city. And Rolle, just like in college, has trouble staying healthy...only managed 5 games this season. So 3 studs for 14th and 3 studs for 8th. I'd still trade down and pick up a 2nd if given the chance. -
Even though all of those "character" issues happened two years ago and he's made every effort to apologize and take responsibility for them? Even though they happened when he was 19 years old and in college (Be honest here, if we are judging people based on what they did when they were in college, 75% of the board would be considered evil, immoral people). Justice has time and time again apologized for what he did and has kept his nose clean for awhile now. I think calling him a character concern is downright silly because he's done everything and more to make up for his immaturity a few years ago. I'd take him in a heart beat. Remember, Eric Moulds didnt exactly have a great character reputation coming out of college and he sure calmed down like he said he was going to.

Clearly, everyone outside of pick #8 is going to be a huge flop in the NFL... We need as many picks as we can get, and its not like we're even dropping that far. To go from 8 to 14 still nets you a strong starter. -
*salutes Captain Murphy*

If the Jets trade with the Saints, should Buffalo

Well if all four are still there at #8, a trade with the Rams would...at the very least...net us one of them. -
The Bills Could Actually Trade Down

Bulger is hurt ALL the time (has never played a full season in his career and only played in 8 games last year). Plus Bulger has struggled with being inconsistent, even when he is playing. -

You cant stop The Snowman. I'll admit, Dusty is probably my most "iffy" pick...kid has some character concerns, and unlike Justice, I havent heard anything recently about him doing anything to correct it. But I like his talent, and he's the tough, scrappy (and kinda crazy) player that would put some fear into opposing Guards and Centers. He's rising in the draft too, started off as a late 4th rounder and I've seen him sneak into the late 2nd in some of the newer mocks. -
BILLS SIGN A-TRAIN (AKA ANTHONY THOMAS)

We've figured out Marv's plan. We already have a CB named "Nate"... -
I just had a great idea. REVERSE DRAFT. Not like the #32 team picks first, but Houston gets to pick ONE player in the entire draft and assign them to any team they want, and that team has to start that player for a single season. Say hello to your starting QB Indy Fans...Marcus Vick! All 3 AFC East teams would select backup O-Lineman from Richmond State and assign them as the new starting Center, Right Guard and Right Tackle for the Patriots. Think of the fun!

FIRST OVERALL PICK IS SUPER MARIO

Groovy...Schlegel strikes me as a Bills special team stud, a la Josh Stamer. I doubt he could ever start on a consistent basis (he's far too slow) but he hits like a truck and would be great as a special teams gunner. -

Nope, too many holes on this team to give up our 2nd rounder for an OT when we could trade down and pick up Winston Justice and get MORE picks. I've got my fingers crossed thats what the Bills are going to do...not only do we get our OT, but even more picks to play with. -
PFT Mock Draft--Laughter the Best Medicine

Depends on what someone offers us. If the Rams freak out and pony up their first, second and 4th rounder...hell, let Leinart go bye-bye and improve the lines with those picks. -

Dont be surprised if it happens, there were reports that Marv liked Ernie Sims. Man...imagine The Wall's explosion if that happened though. Marv would be a dead man. Still though, it is doubtfu they would take Sims with Winston Justice still available. If he were gone though...who-boy, all bets are off. -

I'm truly amazed...makes you wonder what the Saints are going to do...methinks they'll be fielding calls all night. -
I dont know guys, I'm definitely not feeling too good about this team's chances any longer. I mean, they had Philly on the ropes not once but twice in this series and have flopped both times. Now Philly has life back in them, and all the momentum. Does NOT look good for the Sabres. *sigh* Nothing like being a Buffalo sports fan...get your hopes up, only to have them crushed moments later. And worse yet, to the Flyers and their disgusting fans.

I agree, you'll still see Bush as a Texan by tomorrow at 12:15. -
I'm not against Bunkley because he plays for FSU...they generally do a good job of grinding out solid players, I'm just VERY concerned over the whole one-year wonder thing. I keep getting the sense that he only performed above expectations to nail a good contract and he'll slump right back down once that carrot is pulled away from his face.

Psshh...come on, we ALL know that Reyes only drinks high quality kitten blood. And they have to be really cute kittens to quench his ungodly thirst.

Too early for a Game 4 Sabres/Idiots thread?

Winning this game just got a LOT harder. -
Ewwww for Bunkley, you can basically get the same player in the 3rd round. Hoorah for Joseph though!

BILLS SIGN A-TRAIN (AKA ANTHONY THOMAS)
BillsGuyInMalta replied to SACKMARINO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From Clayton's blog: The Bills reached a one-year deal with running back Anthony Thomas after agreeing to terms with former Panthers guard Tutan Reyes. That takes some of the urgency out of attempting to trade into the latter stages of the first round (In other words, I've got to cover my butt when the Bills dont trade back into the first and prove me wrong...yet again). Most teams looking for offense with second-round picks are looking toward the lower part of the first round for offensive linemen or running backs. However, the two recent signings have provided Buffalo with a backup to Willis McGahee in Thomas and a potential starting guard in Reyes. That allows the Bills the chance to concentrate on a first-round defensive player, possibly Florida State defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley. The Eagles are trying to trade to the No. 8 or No. 9 spot in the first round to get defensive tackle Bunkley or Haloti Ngata, but don't expect a trade with the Bills. The Eagles aren't offering enough to get the Bills to give up the defensive tackle that fits their needs, Bunkley. If the price is right, though, the Bills could move from No. 8 to No. 14 and be able to get left tackle Winston Justice. Still, odds of a deal are minimal. The Eagles might have better success with the Lions, who have the ninth overall pick, but that trade would cost the Lions safety Michael Huff or linebacker Ernie Sims. Speaking of the Eagles, they aren't completely locked into taking Winston Justice as their left tackle of the future. If they can't come up with a defensive tackle in a trade up from the No. 14 pick, they could trade down and take center Nick Mangold at a lower spot in the first round. -

I can deal with the A-Train as a backup, if he's healthy he's a solid alternative when Willis needs a breather. Here are some stats. http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235248
