For those NEEDING highlights, in 3 minutes OLN will be airing Sabres/Sens highlights during intermission of Ducks and Avalanche.

Thats for damn sure...but this has got to be a HUGE confidence boost for this squad. They went into hostile territory, with the best team (record wise) left in the entire NHL...and manage to get out of there with a victory when Ottawa threw everything they had at them. Good teams win the games they are supposed to. Great teams find ways to win no matter what the odds are. Its still too early to tell what type of team Buffalo is, but they have got to feel fantastic after this game.

Just for reference... Miller made 27 saves on 33 shots. Emery made 16 saves on 23 shots. I doubt EITHER guys play this badly in Game Two, both will bounce back very strong...so the Sabres really need to push hard in Numero #2, get through that stingy Ottawa Defense and put some pucks on net.

Simply put...One of the most exciting games ever.

Fantastic game so far, but the Sabres really need to start getting some pucks on net. They have 12 shots on goal, but Emery has only made 8 saves so far...thats the type of percentage that we like to see as Sabres fans. So hopefully the Sabres can find a way to toughen the game out and start flying at Emery in the 3rd period. They've done a good job with how they keep coming back after each deficit, but they've got to find a way to knock Ottawa back and keep them there.

Problem is, Miller has shown that when he's on an "off" night...whoo boy, does it ever show. Emery on the other hand has proven to be a bit more consistent.

2-1 Sens...2 goals coming within what seemed like 10 seconds of each other. Its going to be a long night for the Sabres, methinks. They definitely caught the Sens off guard with that first goal, now Ottawa is coming out with that killer edge and the Sabres are quickly buckling under the pressure. Not good.

Very surprised he signed this early, good for him...he'll have plenty of time to learn the new Defense now. I think what I'm more surprised in though is how few UDFAs we brought in...only eight. Usually our bounty is much higher than that.
