Remember though that the Oilers/Sharks series is tied at 2-2. I dont think the NHL wants to start the EC Finals when semi-finals are still going on out West, so nothing can be settled until the Oilers and Sharks wrap it up.

At this point, I'm just loving that we've gotten this far...I'll take either team with a smile on my face knowing the Sabres have gone far beyond anyone's expectations and are looking for A LOT more. Odds are it will be Carolina, which should make for another fast-paced and exciting Conference Final.

Definitely mad props to the Sens, they played a hell of a series. Got to respect the fans too, they kept their class and didnt fall down to the Philly fan slime level.

Also, I think every victory was picked up by the team that was outshot. A very odd series.

There were some questions in my mind, I'll admit it. Not in terms of the talent of the Sabres, I knew they were great...but mostly how they'd match up against the Sens, who I was blown away by this season in terms of their overall talent. Thats why I wasnt ready to celebrate until Ottawa was six feet under. By the way, Miller just had a great comment that the team was too stupid to know when to lose. He also said "They werent going to take this game away from us". Now he's comparing the length of Pommy and Gaustad's stick size...

They were smart not to play Hasek though, they would have been blown out of the water if rusty Dom was in net during this game.

Ayup, thats what I liked seeing. We as fans complained about the refs taking a blind eye to the Sens, and our inability on the power play for most of this series, but the team won against what was, in my opinion, one of the toughest teams in the playoffs. A team that gave us fits early in the season. And we beat them. Sabres proved they can be physical by beating Philly. Now they proved they can skate with any team in the NHL.

Wasnt Pommy on waivers earlier in the season? Wow...look at what the other teams missed out on.

Now, for those who call me a wet blanket during this series...now I'm cool with celebrating like crazy for beating the Sens 8 wins under our belt, 8 more to go.

Thank GOD we got the Sens done and finished with, this series scared the crap out of me. 3 Games this team won in Ottawa, against the #1 seed. GREAT series, now we play the waiting game with those wacky, wiley Canes and those tough Devils. Good news is because the Oilers/Sharks are tied up at 2-2, we're guaranteed at least two more games in that series so that'll push off the Conference Final rounds a bit further, let Timmy and hopefully Kalinin come back to us.

It is indeed a bad hand to be dealt...but there are no excuses in the playoffs. You overcome the odds and move on, all good teams do.

Forgive the boy, o' wise and powerful hockey gods. He knows not what he says! Game Five slowly is approaching...time to see if the Sabres can end the series much in the same way they polished off the Flyers.

The hockey gods work in mysterious ways...clearly we were sinful in 99 (I have some indirect proof that Richard Smehlik used to eat orphans...cute orphans). But hark, you saw what happened in the Game Four thread! Violence! Hatred! Brother Against Brother! Sinful acts that the hockey gods punished us for with a loss. We must repent for our arrogance, so we do not forget the sins of the past!

Problem with filming new episodes of Rome is they have to rebuild everything. It was all filmed in Italy so its a matter of moving everyone back, putting the sets up again, re-casting a bit (they got an older...late teens/early 20s actor to play Octavian) and all of that jazz. I heard the scripts for the new episodes were done months ago, but the production cost on that show is downright outrageous. Still though, I think the wait will be worth it.

Ah but he was pretty pessimistic about the team earlier today, so I think that takes precedence with the hockey gods. We need to keep JSP negative, otherwise we're doomed. Dooooooomed I tells ya!
