Still though, those goals eventually dry up, cant rely on them for every game. What should be interesting is what Carolina decides to do in terms of goaltending in Game Four...Gerber stonewalled the Sabres like he was their pimp, while Ward got destroyed. Do you go back to the guy who got you here, or do the playoff freak-out and stick with Gerber?

Dont think I said anything wrong, Sabres screwed up BIG TIME in this game by letting the Canes back in it at the end. They pulled off the win, and Miller showed up in the last moments of the game...but damn, Sabres cant expect to win this series by letting a team almost beat them after a 4-1 lead in the 2nd. Still though, good win by the Sabres. I think they're going to be motivated to bring the hammer down on Friday and they'll nab another win. Definitely exciting hockey, but Lindy will have a LOT to tell his team in the next two days. Hopefully Teppo will be back on Friday too.

4-2 at the end of the 2nd...Sabres allowed a late one. Loooooong way from being over, especially with the Canes who are uber-scary on the comeback trail.

I freak out so easily though, maybe its the curse of being a Buffalo fan but I seem to always plan for the worse. I'm hoping that goal at the end of the period will remind the Sabres they have to keep playing, especially against the comeback kids of the Hurricanes.

Score is 4-2...Sabres CANT let up in the 3rd, the Canes are the best comeback team in the entire NHL. Its like I said earlier, those goals at the end of the periods are deadly...the Canes are going to come out flying in the 3rd, trying to just push the Sabres around and try and claw their way back into the game. They definitely can do that if the Sabres dont keep the pressure on.

The goals at the end of the periods are always great to have, takes the other team out of it a bit, and the Sabres have the advantage when they start off the 2nd period. Still though, the Canes have now won 20 of 24 faceoffs. Read that again. Are the Sabres falling asleep at the puck drop here? Still, for the good news we are FINALLY getting shots on Ward, Briere had a great clinker off the crossbar so we're keeping the pressure on him. Sabres just got to cool down, they're still taking far too many penalties.

Uh oh, we all know how the Sabres play when they allow the first goal. Not good, not good at all. Sabres are absolutely pathetic on faceoffs. Just checked on Yahoo.com, Canes have a SIXTEEN to four edge. Thats a one way ticket to another loss if the Sabres dont correct it.

If the refs could find a way, they'd give the Canes a 5-0 powerplay.

Really...so the Sabres just got "lucky" in Game One? Canes had a great game, but lets remember just a few days ago the papers were ripping Carolina apart for not being able to keep up with the Sabres after Game One. I'm all for giving the Canes credit, they played great tonight and deserved to win. Sabres didnt get screwed by anyone, they were outplayed. But that wont happen again, Sabres are a fantastic bounce back team. Time to take off the knee pads for the Canes love.

I LOVE it. One win and the Canes are acting like they've already wrapped up the series. As I said in another thread...this type of arrogance pisses off the hockey gods AND your opponent. Not a smart move by the Canes head coach, he's just giving the Sabres more motivation. Keep it coming Canes!

Watching the Sabres come back like that is a good feeling too...fell short, but hey...still a good sign that they didnt give up. Makes you realize that we'll see the BEST Sabres team in the playoffs when it comes home to Buffalo. They'll be pissed, they'll have the crowd's love and hopefully be healthier. Canes better be ready for the Sabres...and all of us "despicable fans" waiting to greet them.

Its weird...I dont like losing this game, but I dont feel bad about it at all. I know I should, but I dont. I want the Sabres to keep level-headed and not get overly confident, I think they bought a smidge too much in their own hype and paid the price. BUT...going home with a 1-1 split against the #2 seed is nice, now its time to take Carolina out of their element and freak them out in Buffalo. Plus, and not taking anything away from the Canes who knocked Buffalo on their butts...but the Sabres were missing Teppo, Timmy and Kalinin. Philly looked great when Teppo wasnt playing either. He'll be back on Wednesday, and Carolina will have their hands full.

Ayup, and I feel REALLY good the Sabres will use this game as a learning tool and come flying at the Canes in Game Three. We got the split, which is what you aim for when you start off on the road. Time to bring the hammer DOWN in Game Three, I think you'll see the Sabres punish Carolina there.

Once again though, people will just assume the Sabres and their fans are complaining because they lost. Nothing will happen to change it, so we're all kinda screwed.
