  1. Remember kids, its also Bastille Day over in France today...I kind of take enjoyment in the fact that every day on my birthday, tanks are rolling through Paris. Sure they are FRENCH tanks on a parade route...but still, something strangely comforting about military equipment used to celebrate on my birthday. Anywho, thanks for all of the well wishes/congrats/birthday gropes...Even though I've met some of the regulars here during the Pitt/Buffalo game two years ago, there are still oodles of people I have to meet up with on The Wall. Hell I've been here for 4 years and think I've only met a dozen people. Something I'll definitely try and remedy this year when I make it out to more than just one game. Now I'm off to celebrate my birthday the only way a 25 year old knows how...cruisin' around in my Honda Fit and ringing a cowbell.
  2. Woot! Good move with the contract extension, definitely needed to get done THIS offseason before the rest of the NFL takes notice.
  3. Jeebus, Josh Stamer's shoe has sixteen bids and is up to 60 bucks!
  4. When I heard Sly wanted to write and direct another Rocky movie, I cringed. But I'll admit, I did get excited watching that trailer...we'll see.
  5. We can only HOPE we get Brady Quinn next year. Whats more likely to happen is that we're bad...but not #1 overall pick bad. More like #3 overall pick bad and we'd lose out on Brady Quinn. Thats the way the Bills' luck seems to be rolling along these days.

  8. http://www.wgr550.com/sabres/fullstory.php?id=1695 Just figured I'd bring some happiness to the doom and gloom Sabres fans out there.
  9. San Jose made their first move, signing Mike Grier of all people. So it looks like we're #1 at inactivity! Whoooo!
  10. Blues apparently just brought back Doug Weight as well for 3.5 million per year. Looks like they are throwing money around. Gotta wonder if ANY NHL teams paid attention last season...overpaying for big FAs gives you one great line...and a sideline seat for the playoffs (or a very quick exit). But hey...when you are the Blues, you got nowhere to go but up.
  11. Nobody can stop the power that is Dave Brown.
  12. Bernie Kosar, Cris Carter, Rob Moore...those spring to mind.
  13. Everyone is overpaying like crazy, but hey...good news for the Sabres if these teams are only going to manage to throw one all-star line at them each game...and then 3 crappy ones. Sabres will run right over those type of teams next season, just as they did this year. And as for Jay McKee, clearly it was about the money. Cant blame him for it, the guy has earned a good paycheck. Ah well though, I'm sure he'll put up with being on a crappy team for a few more zeroes on his paycheck.
  14. Bruins should be happy, they've locked up 12.5 million dollars on TWO players (with the cap limit at 44 million) today. Because if the new NHL has shown us anything, its over-spending on a few superstars and neglecting the rest of your team always leads to wins. Just look at Chicago last year!
  15. Also, their only recognized Hall of Famer is Jim Finks, an administrator. Archie Manning is one of the most overrated QBs in the history of the NFL IMO...out of a 15 year NFL career, I think he made the Pro Bowl...twice? Maybe? He gets recognition being Peyton and Eli's Daddy, but I get the feeling had his two sons not decided to enter football, the name Archie Manning would exist only on Trvial Pursuit: NFL Edition cards. Even though he didnt have much help, bottom line is the Saints didnt win too many games with him as their starting QB. They've had some good players for sure, but so have the other 31 franchises in the NFL. Even the Cards has had some good players in their history. To me, the Saints are the best choice to move to LA. The fan base has been iffy, the franchise doesnt really have any standing rivalries or great history, and their owner is itchin' to split town (or at least rumored to be so). Also sad to say, you gotta wonder how New Orleans can even maintain a team with all of the issues they've been having as they try to rebuild.
  16. The only reason more people havent suggested this recently is because they dont want to come off as being "mean" to New Orleans after Katrina...but lets face it, the Saints dont have a history. The fans didnt care about the team (aside from the recent love-in after the hurricane). It may come off as harsh, but I'd rather see a team like the Saints move to LA...a team that doesnt have any traditions or legendary players...than a team like Buffalo who has a strong fan base and a great history. Time to stop pretending like we are talking about the Green Bay Packers here...the Saints SHOULD move to LA, they'd probably have oodles more success there.
  17. *Inserts google reference to complete The Stadium Wall trifecta*
  18. I'm obviously in the minority, but I dont have a problem with the new logo at all..honestly if they bring him the Cup this year, they can be wearing tutus and beanies for all I care. Maybe its because I'm younger than a lot of the posters here (although getting older by the minute) and I really didnt become a Sabres fan until the early 90s, but I wasn't a big fan of the blue and yellow Cub Scout uniforms we used to have. I've got a wait and see approach...until the UNIFORMS debut (not just the logo), I'll see how I feel...but the logo isnt going to send me crying any time soon.
  19. Brooks is a HUGE character risk, as MadBuffalo has already said...aside from him, there really isnt a talent worthy of a draft pick out of the bunch. I wouldnt touch Brooks with a ten foot pole though, the guy is an off-the-field time bomb waiting to happen.
  20. Psshh...puh-lease. You are totally underestimating Linton's never say die scrappyness! He'd run circles around Holmes and send him packing to Green Bay.
  21. I'll take Jonathan Linton.
  22. If you are using Madden 2006 simming results (Which ESPN strongly recommends you do considering that really is the best way to determine how well a team is going to do the next season)...then sure, makes perfect sense. Am I the only one who likes when ESPN puts us down?
  23. *Slowly raises his hand* Thats totally my fetish.
  24. I actually heard Venom will be in this one, just not until the last 15-30 minutes.
