Bruschi knows all of the world's religions, for his pious powers are unquestionable.

Agreed. Rob "looking good" means he didnt throw any picks, but he had a few that should have gone the other way. He still got sacked 2-3 times and connected on a few dump passes to the RB...but looked like the same old Rob Johnson to me.

Put in the Pillsbury Throwboy!

RJ is off to a good start...3 plays...one penalty...and one sack. Meeeeemmmmorieees!

Seau to unretire and join Pats?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I cant tell...is Seau deciding to come back three days after his emotional goodbye speech funny or sad? -
I need RJ to stick with the team AT LEAST until this Sunday when I make the trip to Giants camp here in Albany. My goal is to make him cry. Maybe hold up an old Flutie jersey and wave it menacingly at him. Hell, even an Alex Van Pelt jersey will work.

What is the timetable for Nall's return?
BillsGuyInMalta replied to rwjr's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to BuffaloBills.com, Nall is going to practice tonight...so its not out of the realm of possibility that he plays in the 2nd preseason game if he has no setbacks. -
Every single episode I see of that show, I absolutely crack up. Got the DVD, the new episodes are just lights out hilarious...easily my favorite show on television right now. For those who dont know what I'm talking about...10:30, Sunday Nights...Adult Swim. Or check on YouTube.com for clips, they are well worth it.

Yeah...this is what we need after a preseason freak out. Another "Bills are gonna move" post. Here is the thing, we've heard about the potential of the Bills possibly moving for a loooooooooong time and yet...here they are. The talking heads at ESPN are just kicking a team when they are down, a few years ago Minnesota was the most likely team to move. Then it was New Orleans. Now its the Bills or Chargers or Jags.

If things dont workout with Losman this year
BillsGuyInMalta replied to zevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Garrard is VASTLY overrated in my opinion. Yes he went 4-1 as a starter after Lefty went down, but check out the teams he beat. Browns. Niners. Texans. Titans. All late in the season when many didnt have anything to play for. He lost to the Colts by the way, the only real team he played during that stretch. I think Garrard is a very solid backup player, but not starting material. -
Arizona Cardinal fans suck...
BillsGuyInMalta replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How many years have the Cards supposed to have been the "surprise" team? 5 years and counting? They always seem to look decent on paper and fail badly when the regular season rolls around. -

The ESPN Conspiracy Involving the Bills
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, Kornheiser and Wilbon were both very big fans of the Marv hiring...said that it gave the team stability and Wilbon in particular slammed some of the talking heads for coming down so hard on Marv. I'm sure they must have missed the "Bills R St00pid" memo that ESPN sent out to all of its employees. -
He's missing half a sack, thats for sure.

How many minutes into the first preseason game before The Wall explodes?

Pics from today's practice - 8/9
BillsGuyInMalta replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just got back from camp myself, Jay I think I must have been right next to you and not known it. Anyways, I came away very impressed with Robert Royal (as has been mentioned above) and Roscoe Parrish today. Royal looked a lot faster than I expected but had some great pops in the blocking game. Caught what was tossed at him. Parrish was just on fire today too...return game, he was lights out and in the passing game...whoa momma, I saw him juke a DB right out of the play not once, not twice...but thrice (Simpsons reference for you.) Parrish looks ready. Peerless Price also was very consistent, had some nice catches through the entire practice. McCargo looked like he was winded again, kneeling down next to the other standing DTs to catch his breath after the DT practices were completed. Jason Peters is going to be HUGE for us, no pun intended. He just mauled people today, they didnt stand a chance against him. The O-Line today performed very well I thought. Same cannot be said about the QBs. Losman looked very nervous at times and held onto the ball too long. He overshot a bunch of his deep passes, but to his defense I suppose its better to overshoot than undershoot. Holcomb was...Holcomb. Short passes, nothing long. Defensive backfield coverage was very good today, especially Youboty. I overheard a lot of the coaching staff heap praise on him for the angles he took and shutting down receiving lanes. He didnt get any picks, but he negated anyone they put on him. Funny sidenote, RIGHT when I thought to myself "Hmmmm, havent seen Martin Nance do anything today" he immediately made a TREMENDOUS catch from Losman, jumping and twisting in mid-air, then got down the field for more yardage. So all of you Nance lovers out there, he showed off with that play. All in all, I think its obvious the Defense is far ahead of the Offense at this point...but thats to be expected. Losman still looks like he has a lot of work to do to get ready for the season. However, I was quite surprised by how well some of the "question marks" on this team performed today (O-Line, TE, WRs not named "Evans"). -
Roger Goodell is New NFL Commish
BillsGuyInMalta replied to Tom's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well this definitely made me smile...taken from an article that Carucci just posted on NFL.com about the new commish... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9591441 Within the next 10 years, Goodell became a larger and larger presence on the NFL's business front, especially in the area of new stadium construction and the renovation of existing facilities. I will never forget the uncertainty that preceded the 1999 renovation of Ralph Wilson Stadium, a project that went a long way toward keeping the Bills in Buffalo. I will never forget the many talks I had with Goodell as I sought to find out whether the team I covered was going to leave town. At one point, when all of the many details of the project were finally in place, Goodell assured me in a late-night phone conversation that "the Bills aren't going anywhere." I knew those were words I could trust. *Terminator 2-esque thumbs up for Goodell* -
Sabres to walk away from Dumont
BillsGuyInMalta replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
2.9 million was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for Dumont, Sabres were smart to let him go. Save that cash to help re-sign Miller and Kalinin. -
I'll be wandering out to the Wed and Thursday practices...cant wait to check out the team in person again.

Have we REALLY started to predict preseason scores and worry about the outcome of preseason games? Are we that out of touch with reality? Every year it seems we freak out over the preseason and every year by Week 5 we realize that the problems we had in preseason have been solved...its all of the OTHER problems that pop up during the regular season that get us. Sit back and enjoy the preseason gents...take a deep breath and remember why these are just glorified scrimmages.

Good luck to Posey in the future, but once Angelo emerged...you knew Posey wasnt going to be sticking around for much longer (either until his contract expired next season or he was released...looks like we found out which one.)
