  1. IIRC 2 of those losses were the direct result of Fitz throwing the football into the chest of an opposing player near the end of the game. I am certain that this was not in Chan's gameplan.
  2. Really glad you posted this, I was considering starting a similar thread myself after reading what Mario and George Wilson had to say here It seemed to me that Mario and George were subtly implying that some of their teammates were not sticking to their proper assignments during these plays even though they practiced for this offense all week long. I had been wondering exactly what it is that these guys were referring to so I checked it out and came up with this. Seems the DE is basically screwed according to this author, there is no "correct" response, the DE is forced to guess, and if he guesses wrong he will be out of position or tackling an empty handed player. (But at least inflicting pain, so in this respect Billsfreak17 may be on to something). Please let me know if this accurately describes what your referring to here.
  3. I agree mostly with the writers conclusions except for the 2 point conversion, I don't believe he could have foreseen us missing that.
  4. I respect your post Sir but do you honestly believe there is a market for Fitz?
  5. You left out Edwards running out of bounds on 4th and game rather than risking a pass, that deserves to be included.
  6. Your Galaxy Tab needs to be running Android 2.3 or newer to support Flash. Go to the Samsung website and check for updates.
  7. No "killing" here, I completely understand what your trying to say. When I was far younger(and dumber), I would go out drinking with friends and then drive home, I never sped though, if anything I drove slower then normal cause I knew I was buzzed or drunk and I was scared I'd be caught. Just the same I had friends who after drinking at the same joints I did, go out and wreck or get arrested for driving 80, 90, 100 mph through town or on the highway. Didn't get it then, don't get it now. I guess booze affects us all differently.
  8. Our present QB does not seem to have that talent, in fact 2 or 3 less turnovers this season and none of us would be laughing whenever a fellow Bills fan mentions playoffs.
  9. OMG that is hilarious!! And they replay it several times from different angles so you can keep laughing EDIT: Wasn't that an illegal blow to the head? LOL! Fixxxer, you should consider giving this clip it's own thread just so more of us can have a laugh, we could all use it.
  10. Did we actually sign him? Heard we were looking but did not hear that we picked him up. EDIT: Never mind, just saw when I Googled him that he's on the PS now.
  11. Fair enough, but even just 2 more wins puts us right in the battle just behind Pats at 6 and 4 so the answer to the OP's question is still yes IMO.
  12. Detroit Lions are 10th right now, allowing 24.7 points a game. How many wins would that have gotten us?(Too lazy to check lol). EDIT: Oh wait, previous post says 4 so I guess that would prove that the answer to the OP's question is yes.
  13. True, I guess I used the word "Bills" when I should have said the stadium.
  14. We are all speculating(and so am I)but having worked security some years ago, normally you only detain folks for one of three reasons: 1. They have broken a law(hold for police). 2. They refuse to comply with your instructions/requests. Or 3. They have become threatening/dangerous to other patrons. My guess(and it IS just that)is that he became ill, which annoyed folks and drew the attention of security. He then was asked to leave, and did so without further complaint or resistance(so no detention). Seems he made his way out of the stadium area, and got as far as that ditch stumbled and fell, either stunning or knocking himself completely out and without his proper senses about him drowned in said creek. If that is true I believe the only liability that the Bills are exposed to is whether they served him while he was in that state. Very well said sir This poor guy will have a lifetime to think about what he could have and should have done. I feel bad for him even though I would have made a different decision were it my brother. He is probably gonna need counseling to forgive himself for this.
  15. 3rd and goal on the 1 or 2yd line, fullback in for the play=pass to tightly covered/held TE. Go figure.
  16. I just hope we win another game lol
  17. My wife and 2 daughters each have a horse, I just get to pay for them and they bug me too. I'm always worried the damn things are gonna step on my feet or kick me or run me the hell over lol. So I completly understand his consternation but it is funny as hell to watch. Good Post
  18. Thanks for all the insightful responses guys, I appreciate it but I think that due to my long ass drunken post my question may have gotten lost so I'll put it up here again. If after looking off the defense you make that quick turn and see that: A. The intended receiver is not there, and B. The intended receiver is not even headed there, why would you C. Throw the football there anyway??? I cannot remember that Pittsburgh QB's name for the life of me(I do remember the beard though), but to this day I can remember his infuriating response. "The play called for the receiver to run a "square out" pattern and instead he ran a "square in"(This receiver also admitted his mistake as well). And I wondered then, as I do now "Then why the f did you throw it there Anyway???
  19. You are all correct, and I have judiciously employed the enter key as suggested by the fridge. Sorry about that, the words just came to me and I wanted to put em down before I lost them. Late night stream of consciousness after half a bottle of rum lol. (I thought I did ok on the punctuation though).
  20. I sat down to watch this last game(after telling myself that I wouldn't), expecting the usual disaster, and for a little while I was pretty much getting exactly what I expected. Lemme see, Gronk and Welker running free through our secondary:CHECK, Brady with ALL day to throw to them:CHECK, Effortless Pats drive up the field for a score:CHECK, Ineffective Bills offense:CHECK, Dumb penalties(false starts and holding) erasing any good plays we did make:CHECK, Turnover near our own goaline to give Pats some more points:CHECK, Fitz heaving the ball on every down creating both quick 3 and outs and easy INT's for even more points for Pats with his wildly off-target and under/overthrown passes while our defense slowly gives up on the game as they eventually realize that there's just no point in trying:CHE...Wait, what? Something happened towards the end of the 1st quarter, and I got a lot more game than I expected. Fitz suddenly looked the best that I've seen him in a long time, most of his throws were on time and target. When he had nothing he either took sacks or threw the ball away instead of blindly tossing it up in an attempt to make "something" happen, and that by itself was a big improvement in his game and (finally) shows some maturation. Was it just me or did anyone else notice how much less fearsome the Pats D becomes when they cannot consistently predict what you're about to do next? The effective ground game forced them out of what they normally do to us and play action had em I mean really HAD em in the first half. I watched a couple plays where Fitz had almost 4 or 5 seconds back there, I don't know why we went away from it. I won't complain about the 2 fumbles from FJ, the first one I wasn't even sure was a fumble but after staring at it several times in slo mo I had to admit the ball came loose a split second before his knee touched(Damn the Hoody and his red flag). The second, I believe he might have been knocked unconscious briefly when he was hit trying to drive through a tackle. In my humble opinion, dude is a true football warrior cause neither of those fumbles happen if he had just given up on those plays sooner and simply gone down, if I were a coach I could only wish for an entire team of guys that I would have to keep hollering at for trying too damn hard. I am not going to B word about the refs for 2 reasons: 1. We actually WERE jumping pre-snap and holding, especially at the beginning of the game, and 2. Every time a team(including us)plays the Pats at home they will have to deal with the weak and "ticky tack" penalty calls made against them as well as blatant non-calls for the Pats by the NFL's "impartial" officiating crew there, and even though in this game they seemed to take it to a whole f'n new level(looked like one of em was even trying to defense a touchdown catch), in the end we overcame even that and can't simply pin the loss on them. I don't want to pin it on Fitz either, I mean I like the guy and I've just finished saying what a great game I thought he had...but damn....I need some help here guys. I have been hearing this "My receiver ran the wrong route" explanation ever since another bearded OB playing for Pittsburgh threw a WTF interception to seal a win for Dallas in a Super Bowl some years ago. Now I know these are timing passes where you try to look off the secondary to one side of the field and then suddenly turn and throw to the spot where your intended receiver should be(T. Brady does it to us all day long)....But..And here's where I need someone more knowledgeable in X's and O's to explain to me this. If after looking off the defense you make that quick turn and see that: A. The intended receiver is not there, and B. The intended receiver is not even headed there, why would you C. Throw the football there anyway??? My frustration with this explanation has recently been made even worse by another board members posting of a snapshot of the field just as Fitz threw that INT. I mean, if the idea is to "look off" the defense, could he not see while "looking off" that it had almost completely broken down on that side of the field? I am going to stop thinking about that now cause it's starting to bum me out like just after the game again. Anyhow guys, getting back on the bright side, maybe we need opponents like this, it lets all our young players realize the level of play that will be required of them to generate a "W" in the NFL. We seem to suck less every time we play them, eventually I believe that there will come a day when we will not suck just enough to beat them by 1 measly point. For about an hour I thought last Sunday would be that day.
  21. He played for the Buffalo Bills in 1996 and 1997. In 1996, he set a team and personal record with 206 tackles. His 1997 season was limited because of a neck injury that required spinal surgery. IMHO one of the last LB's we had that that was smart, skilled and went all out every play.
  22. Earlier I stated that I really did not know who was responsible for attempting that late 4th qtr pass that was picked off, I just read this off the TBD front page:(Ryan Fitzpatrick: "This one stings") Evidently Mr. Fitzpatrick took it upon himself to heave that miserable pass because he "got greedy" Even though I can appreciate the fact that he took full responsibility for it I am otherwise truly mystified by his response. Greedy? greedy for what? To have a good game? He was already on his way to doing that. To get another win? Well on his way to doing that too. When I try to make sense of it my head hurts, going to bed now. BUFFALO BILLS QB RYAN FITZPATRICK On what happened on his fourth-quarter interception: I just got greedy in a situation that I did not have any business being greedy in. It was a dumb throw, dumb decision by me. Third down at the end of the game, game on the line, Chan (Gailey) put the ball in my hands essentially and I threw an interception. So that one hurts. On if the receiver he threw to was who he was supposed to on the interception: There are five different receivers on that play, so that was just the one I threw it to. On if the pass was intended for WR Stevie Johnson or WR Donald Jones: Donald. On why the passes on the Bills’ last drive were all short throws: The way that they play it was obviously going to be everybody deep and back. You hope to catch one short and have somebody go. We had the two timeouts so not necessarily having to run out of bounds and do all of that stuff. Just trying to get people down the field to at least have a chance at it. The first and second downs we had catches, but the short completions. I tried to get Scott (Chandler) on the third one and then I tried to get Stevie (Johnson) on the last one. It did not happen.
  23. Absolutely Ed, bootleg for a first, bootleg that doesn't get us one, it really didn't matter too much at that point, the clock was our friend. I am certainly not a highly paid coordinator or coach or even a "football expert" but why throw the ball then at all. I just don't get it.
