  1. The game clinching INT against the Titans was a great play. He peeled off his man, absolutely destroyed Wright who had beaten Roby deep and made the pick. Without that play, The Titans have 1st down near FG range and likely win. Thought it was one of best individual plays by Bills all year.
  2. Thurman. Great value and he was the player that made that offense go from very good to the best in a league over a 5-year period. Always ranked as top 3 NFL offense in TT's first 5 seasons
  3. The problem is not only the money, it's also a roster spot. If he signs and stays healthy through pre-season he is on the opening day roster. But once he gets hurt he will have wasted a spot that could go to a young prospect or a contributing player. Percy was terrific in the first month of the season. The Fish could absolutely not cover him on 3rd down in that early season game. But, he's just too unreliable to waste a roster spot, even at a reduced contract. I am tired of watching meaningless December games with 15 guys that weren't on the opening day roster. Why sign up for a guy that you can almost guarantee will not finish the season.
  4. Just be glad we aren't in the same boat as Denver re: Von Miller, Brock Osweiller, and Peyton Manning. They could end up losing both quarterbacks and overpaying a LB that could blow a drug test and lose significant playing time I would love it if we were in Denver's boat. Buffalo would still be celebrating the Super Bowl and wouldn't be so bad to worry about losing our hall of fame QB vs. a promising young QB.
  5. Your a great sports fan. And have excellent taste. I am so happy not to have to listen to 2 weeks of Tom Brady love and hearing that he can eclipse Montana. Thank you Denver!
  6. I'm in the same boat. Going to the game with my Dad and some friends who I don't see that often. Also taking my daughter. I live Out of state and will be my first chance to go to the Ralph this year. Hugely Disappointing season. Really thought they would still be alive for playoffs going in to the last 2 games. But disappointing seasons never stopped me from rooting for the Bills before.
  7. Me too. Isn't the reason we visit the site, to read and talk about the Bills? Thanks for all the info.
  8. Well said. Disappointing, Infuriating, and frustrating that D game plan still did not adapt as the season went on.
  9. I was at the "Just Give it to em" game. I've watched a lot of football games and don't remember seeing a PI called on a complete jump ball last second Hail Mary, before or since that game. After those 2 horrible calls on patriots* last drive, walking out of the stadium , one of my friends just kept saying, "but it's not fair that wasn't right." Must have said it 25 times in disbelief. Watching NE games in almost 20 years since then, all NFL fans have said the same thing numerous times. Don't know if it's a conspiracy, but it's definitely not right. From the tone of Gruden's voice, he knew exactly what he was saying, Remember, he was on the other end of one of the all time screw jobs in playoff history on the Brady sack fumble.
  10. Very good summary. The Bengals are on the path for a 5th straight playoff appearance. So far this year they are one of the top 5 teams in NFL. Who knows how it will go when they get to the playoffs. They certainly appear to have a shot to make the Super Bowl. The way the league is structured, it's unlikely for any team to be in the conference championship / Super Bowl for a 4 - 5 year stretch, Unless you're cheating. To me a "Model Franchise" is a team that puts together a nucleus of key players, including the QB, and stable coaching staff to compete for the playoffs year in and year out for a 5 - 10 year stretch. And have the top end talent to make a Super Bowl run at some point within a prolonged period of success. The Bengals have yet to make a run in the playoffs, but they have made the moves to be in position to do so. Other teams who have followed the 3 points in YOLO's post over past 5 -10 years. Packers, Giants, Ravens, Steelers, and Seahawks. Super Bowl is not guaranteed for any team. Until the Bills follow the basics of good scouting, stable system, and commitment to QB our playoff drought will continue.
  11. The Mingo pick is a good example of the Zone Blitz working as designed. But the Bills are not blocking passing lanes and they are confusing themselves more than the offense. Except for the opposing O-line being confused why the Pro-bowl D-line keeps giving them plays off to block no one. Also Mingo is a more natural type of player to drop into pass coverage. On that play he watched Manning and anticipated before the pass was thrown. Hughes has looked OK in pass coverage, but the Bills front 4 are players suited to putting their hand on the ground and rushing the passer or stopping the run. Incidentally it seems that the passive scheme also hurts run stuffing. Williams pick of Cutler last year was not a zone blitz or coverage drop. Kyle rushed across the line and just reacted when Cutler scrambled and threw back across his body. Shows that he is athletic enough to make a play, but not his strength.
  12. Actually it probably has been understated, because they keep doing it. It is brutal watching K. Williams and M. Williams standing 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage covering no one and confusing no one. They look helpless out there as they wait for E. Manning or Dalton to find their open receivers. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13932727/marcell-dareus-joins-mario-williams-questioning-buffalo-bills-coach-rex-ryan-calls
  13. That would be awesome. EJ would need to hit some seriously big plays to reach the 17+ yards / completion your calling for. I believe Dalton leads the league with around 14 yards / comp. for the season. Besides a big day for Sammy, probably need a deep ball to Goodwin, and Shady break free for a long run on a screen pass to hit those numbers. One way or another it will take multifaceted attack with several of our playmakers coming through to beat Cinci.
  14. Maybe, I should have said exclusively with his coaches teammates. Keep it in house, especially for a 2nd year guy. Sammy's a great talent, but my feeling is that he has not earned the right to call out coaches and teammates.
  15. Damn. Big talk from Mr. Fragile "And that’s what I addressed in talking with my agent. We reached out to a couple people and tried to pull some strings" Even if the points are valid, talk to your coaches and QB. You really need your agent to pull strings for what happens on the field?
  16. E Wood has received a lot of flack recently. Some Deserved. He was fantastic on Sunday, especially on some of the big plays. Check out the first touchdown on Clay's catch and run. Wood knocked 3 players off balance on the play, including Pro Bowlers Suh and Wake. This may have been his best, but you see several big time blocks on game changing plays in the all 22.
  17. They're awful. Any chance of getting the solid jerseys back before the season?
  18. It was actually Josh Reed. 30 yard strike into coverage to set-up game winning FG. But in any case he never had the courage to make that type of put your balls on the line game winning play again. A few years later that Trentitive song parody is still perfect.
  19. He head-butted her and opened a 2" gash on her forehead. Doesn't sound biased to me, police protecting a woman from a jack --s
  20. "I really appreciate that Mr. Wilson brought our town a Pro team and I sure do love rooting for the Bills. He seems like a classy guy, but man does he give us a lousy team more often than not. He will likely pass away from old age this decade, and I sure hope the new owner brings us a consistent winner" seemed unwieldy as my screen name. So I just went with "life improves after Ralph." My mind is warped and I appreciate dark humor, what can I say.
  21. Keep up the crusade, genius. Looking forward to seeing you on the DL shortly. [/quote The game in MIA was a total team disaster with all the injuries and with the terrible snaps from Levitre it's amazing Fitz survivedthe game. So you really can't pin that one on Fitz. Paintmyhouse does have a point in reference to the late season game against the fish in OP. This was one of the games where it became apparent that the league had figured out the tendencies of the Chan - Fitz O. On several playsThe mediocre Dolphins D set-up the Bills by blitzing and jumping the quick slant or short out. basically dictating the play and knowing where Fitz would go with the ball. 5 ints and 1 for 25 on 3rd & 4th downs in 2 games against one of the bottom tier teams in the league is not a coincidence. The Bills were badly out coached in both games and Fitz was not able to make the on the fly adjustments to salvage plays.
  22. What is the status of Waters? Has he reported is he hurt? Multiple pro bowls and played at a high level last year. On what seems to be a weak line, it could make a huge difference if he plays or not. If it's just money, it would make sense for NE to up the ante. Of course Belicheck is a stubborn SOB. So who knows?
  23. Of course it was sarcasm. The Bills Could find themselves at 1 - 5 with Brad Smith as the only healthy QB and I'd expect PTR to try and find a silver lining to give us hope for a playoff run. That's why it's so amazing to see a post giving us reason to worry during the most optimistic preseason in many years. PTR - are you just a contrarian?
  24. I do admit to occasionally having some regret about the screen name. Obviously Ralph is the main reason the Bills are in Buffalo. As with everyone on this board, the team has helped to create friendships and has left me with many Good memories. I would love it if Ralph lives to be 120 and the Bills stay in town, become a consistent contender, and win a few Super Bowls. However the reality is that Mr. Wilson will likely pass in the next 5 years. Based on a 50 plus year history where we have had only 2 stretches of consistent success (5 yrs in mid 60s and 10 yrs from late 80's - 90's) and many more losses than wins, the odds are significantly in favor of new ownership improving the product on the field. Truly I have no death wish against RW, just my attempt at dark humor after enduring so many dismal seasons. I can accept the criticism that the screen name is sensitive, but there is some truth in it. As for the sensitive soles, I believe the posters on TSW have the toughest feet anywhere on the Internet. So I regret that comment too, although not the complete post.
  25. PTR. Your gloom and doom is tiring. Picking on two guys who are still learning the offense and will either A) not make the team or B) may never see the field. It's still pre-season you don't need to bury the team yet. just once can you find something positive to say about the Bills?
