Cleveland Browns - Will they go 0-16?
Reks Ryan replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And Belichik too. Disgustingly he has 16 wins at Ralph Wilson /New Era field. I think the last Bills coach to total that many home wins was Wade Phillips. So yeah, just like the Browns, Bills opponent actually has most wins on their field since 99'. Getting into the playoffs would be nice way to start changing the tone. That Forward lateral has been a true curse. -
“The baddest beat they ever saw” - Pats vs Bills 1998
Reks Ryan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at that game. Sitting in the opposite end zone it looked like Jefferson was 5 feet out of bounds, and then the PI on a Hail Mary! Walking out of the stadium, one of my friends just kept saying, "but that wasn't fair it wasn't right." About 100 times. That game and the Tennessee forward pass have caused me permanent damage, even more than the Super Bowl losses. My hatred of all Boston sports and their pompous ignorant fans is unlimited. What part of Mass. Is Walt Coleman from? -
Week 12 Game Balls vs. the Chiefs
Reks Ryan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Preston Brown. Good coverage on Kelce and in on a lot of tackles near the line of scrimmage. Schmidt, no big returns from #10. I had a bad feeling before the game that the Bills would lose by 3 or less on a late punt return by Hill. Schmidt didn't give him the chance. -
Gameday Thread 1st Half Bills @ Chargers

It's not fair to the rest of the team to Leave this kid in the game -
Yes Everyone thinks they need a better #2 RB. I can't remember a single poster on this board advocating to stand pat with Tolbert. As weak as the opening day WR line-up was, they now added 3 NFL level receivers with Matthews (back from injury) , Thompson, and Benjamin to at least have a respectable corp. I have felt with Tyrod at QB they were even more desperate at RB since opening day. There are going to be a limited number of passes to WR, and at this stage in his career Shady is not built to carry the ball 25 times / game week in and week out. So it was surprising that they added 2 quality WRs and not 1 decent RB. Maybe Cadet will do something, but it's hard to believe the Bills couldn't find anyone better than 28 yr old 7th year RB with 87 career rushing yards, and Tolbert. If Shady goes down we will really see that the tank is on.

Bills vs. Saints Postgame - Total Domination
Reks Ryan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. That's exactly how I feel. Suckered again. The first 6 weeks I reminded myself it was smoke and mirrors, narrow wins caused by fluke turn overs and a weak schedule. But after the Raiders game at 5 - 2, It seemed like the team really was good enough for playoffs. Maybe the D would continue creating turnovers. Denison's game plans were starting to look like last year and could Tyrod really be developing into a serious NFL QB? After the Raiders I felt 5-4 from there seemed doable. Was looking forward to going to last game against the Fish with something on the line, or even already in the playoffs. Maybe this won't be 2011. Now I just feel like a sucker as Lucy Beane pulls the ball away and laughs as she trades away our best young players. It sucks that we once again know our team is not nearly good enough and NE will have the division wrapped up by Thanksgiving. -
Did the defense quit on Coach Thursday?
Reks Ryan replied to Foreigner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am concerned that when the Bills sweep Miami they will help the Fish get a top 3 pick in the draft and get a QB -
Sources: Bruce Arians won't return as AZ coach in 2018
Reks Ryan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has done miracles with such inconsistent and mediocre QBs in AZ. He helped make Palmer look much better than he would have with almost any other team / coach. -
Bills vs. Buccaneers Postgame
Reks Ryan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice Summary. The 3rd down conversion rate really stands out. Great to see the O put together some extended drives. Seeing that Thompson's numbers with the Bears would've made him the #1 Bills receiver this year and remembering his connection w Tyrod from 2015 preseason gave some hope. But never expected 100 yd game after just a few practices. -
They'll be open. But how will Tyrod know where to throw the ball?

GDT: AL Wild Card Twins at Yankees (ESPN)
Reks Ryan replied to Fadingpain's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Exciting game so far. My Prediction 7 - 5 Yanks. Yankees Indians would be a fun series. -
Depends what measure you're using to rank it, YPG they're ranked 10th and Denver is #1. NE is last no matter how you rank it. I do agree that this is D is for real and should be solid throughout the year. Plus 6 on the TO ratio so far, which is probably not sustainable.

What a game by Hauschka. 3 long ones and the game clincher. Plus he can kickoff. It's been a long time since we had a top kicker. Why did Seattle let this guy go? Did he struggle w bad weather? McManus is stud too. Every one of his kicks is dead center between the posts.

Most alarming is McDermott
Reks Ryan replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There really was only 1 egregious misuse of timeouts. After the Tyrod scramble on 2nd down w about 50 secs left. Definitely should have used a TO there. The TO that was called when Carolina had 3rd and Goal w just over 2 mins was effective. Allowed Bills to set up proper D and hold them. If they score a TD there, last drive wouldn't of mattered. Yes Time ran off the clock first but he wanted to see the O formation and the Bills still got the ball back on the plus side of the 2 min warning. I was actually pleased that Bills have not been wasting TOs 1st 2 weeks and are going into the last 2 mins of halves w all there TOs. Has been refreshing. Don't understand the complaints. -
Good Ole Myths on the Eve of new Season
Reks Ryan replied to RalphWilson'sNewWar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. I think some guys don't understand what a myth is. -
The problem with the J Will cut is that it follows a pattern off loading young talent. It leaves us with very few players to root for as the future. We're rebuilding but with out many build blocks on the roster. No one on the OP's list gives any inspiration for the future, even if it might be a slight improvement over J Will this year. I feel worse about the cut after looking at the list of mediocre middle aged running backs.

Ragland traded to KC for 4th round 2019 pick
Reks Ryan replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is amazing that they need to switch D schemes every 2 years. Just as players start to develop they become less valuable to the new coaching staff. And this year they're doing it to the O too. Tyrod and the O-line will likely be much less effective this year. D will probably be respectable and Offense will be terrible. It's going to be though to watch. On the trade. unless it is still injury related, Ragland does not appear to be athletic enough to thrive in today's passing league. So apparently McBeane thinks he less than a 9.8% of being a decent player for the Bills. It is amazing that they need to switch D schemes every 2 years. Serious question: Is this the beginning of a tank?
Reks Ryan replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course this is a tank for 2017. It seems they are racing the Jets and a few others to position for top QB next year. Trading young talent, still with very high upside is a big risk. But, I believe they look at Tyrod as a good but not great QB. That at best (with pre-trade roster) can reach 9-7 / 10 - 6 to grab a wild card. Needed to get out of purgatory. Having first year coach and GM allows them to take the risk. You can debate the value of the trades. However Bills fans who are honest, realize that this roster was not going to be challenging for a championship in the next couple years. -
Exactly and Arizona at #3. The Patriots were 13th, how did they manage to go 14 - 2. Efficiency is more important than attempts. NE and ATL were super efficient in the pass game and played from ahead so they didn't need as many attempts. The key is balance, game planning and game situation. If the Bills are top 10 in passing attempts this year, we're looking at very high draft pick. With the current roster on O, especially at QB and WR, the Bills best chance to be competitive is to run more than the league average. It doesn't help just to pass more if your not an effective passing team. Truly I thought the offensive plan last year came close to maxing out what could be expected of the Bills O. There were several horrendous defensive efforts like the 2 Miami games and giving up close to 400 yards to Fitzpatrick which were not lost due to offensive play calling.

5-22: Whaley Will Speak on SiriusXM NFL
Reks Ryan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Classy interview. Whaley did a lot of things right to improve the talent of the team. Besides the failure to land a franchise QB, his biggest shortcoming was the inability to layout a cohesive team building plan. The Rex hire probably killed any chance he had, but a stronger personality and plan ma -
Solomon Wilcotts and the Buffalo Beels
Reks Ryan replied to TheLynchTrain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was average to poor. Not offensive, many of us just tired of getting the bottom of the barrel announcers. Interesting that his broadcast career coincided almost exactly with Bills drought. This link has some good Solomon references. But I linked mainly for Dirtbag's announcer awards. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/187861-ranking-the-announcers/ -

The McDermott Era begins - Voluntary OTAs
Reks Ryan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely encouraging. He seems to have the old school edge. With willingness to keep an open mind and look to future / adapt as necessary. One of biggest challenges is maintaining respect and some degree of fear from multimillionaire 20 something year old guys, while still creating team building relationship. He might have it. I hope you are right about never having a coach like McDermott. Won't go back to Levy and before b/c it was a different era. Had high hopes for Mularkey, but he is a fake tough guy that players see through. Jauron did not have the personality or open mind. Wade was almost there but missing the final ingredient, difference between a really good #2 and underperforming CEO. G. Williams and Marrone were dolts and FOS. G. Williams brought in one of the worst coaching staffs of all time and talked Super Bowl before a 3 -13 season. Rex has too many shortcomings to mention. Wow, Just got depressed writing that and didn't even get to Chan. I loved Marv though, and McD seems like a guy who can similar success. We are due for a good one.
