  3. It looks every other Beane & co have hit on some good later round picks. 2018, 2020, 2022 and hopefully 2024 were very good. The odd years were flops.
  4. That’s ridiculous. There should be about a dozen D-lineman released from other teams today who would be an upgrade
  5. Only in a negative way.. If Tom Brady is endorsing a product, I will think twice about buying it. And I stopped using Draft Kings years ago when I became aware that Jerry Jones & Robert Kraft were significant investors. There’s a local sandwich shop in Florida called Miami Subs. 20 years ago living in Fort Lauderdale I used to go there about once a week. They ran an anti-bills campaign, don’t remember exactly what the promotion was, but they had signs up that were kind of the inverse of Squish the Fish, against the Bills. I walked out of the store and never went back.
  6. Your post, got me to look up the 2017 roster. That receiving corp was so inadequate, they traded a 3rd round pick for Kelvin Benjamin mid-year. Deonte Thompson led the WRs with 440 yards, both Charles Clay & Shady McCoy had slightly more. The OL from Center left; Wood, Incognito, Dawkins was good, but the right side was Vlad Ducase and Jordan Mills. Tyrod probably deserves more credit for a winning record and getting that team to the playoffs. Having said that, if Samuel is out, I think the 2024 receivers could be almost as bad.
  7. Ronnie Lott Drew Pearson Roger Staubach Charlie Joiner Lester Hayes Dave Casper Kenny Stabler Walter Payton Those guys all played when I was a kid. As an adult I basically just root for the Bills. But some of the players that have been great to watch… Jerry Rice Peyton Manning Marvin Harrison Bill Romanowski Christian Mccaffery Ryan Fitzpatrick. Not counting his Bills years. It was more fun to watch him play when he wasn’t on the Bills.
  8. What level of player do you think you can keep on the team all year as the 5th or 6th WR? If he's not a ST contributor, he will be inactive most games. Seriously, do you have examples from last year of another team that had significantly better WR as their 5th or 6th guy going into the postseason
  9. Justice Dept is filling an antitrust suit against Ticketmaster. Although the linked article specifically talks about the concert business, I Hope this helps reduce the cost of NFL tickets on the resale market. I am not generally pro-regulation. But I do believe that Ticketmaster has unfair advantages and their business model has many aspects of a monopoly. Prices to attend sporting events and concerts have gone insane the last few years. In my opinion, way above where true free-market conditions would have taken prices. https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-sues-break-live-nation-143239439.html
  10. True. But you can always look for the restaurants and stores with "we speak English" signs. On a serious note, it's well worth the trip. A lot good restaurants and beach hotels between Miami & Fort Lauderdale. And tons of bills fans at the game and around town. I will probably miss this year for a business trip, but will only be the 2nd time in 20+ years that I won't see the Bills in Miami. Josh generally destroys the fish, so it's been a good time for us in recent years
  11. It would have been better to have the double header week, so we get the alternate announcers. We don't want Buck & Aikman doing Bills. Buck is the worst & Aikman is annoying, but more importantly the Bills are 0'fer with those 2 guys announcing games
  12. When did he become Uber talented? I would think his agent would want to publicize that development
  13. Akron, Ball State and Louisville should also be good match ups now
  14. I think Troy Franklin or Mitchell are the WRs still left w the highest ceiling. If you're going double dip on WR tonight either w 3rd pick or vet trade. Take the risk on the upside with 33.
  15. That's amazing that it's been 21 years with 32 teams in the league. If there are some talented white CBs coming out of HS, I bet a lot of those guys automatically try to make it as a WR or switch to safety when they get to college. Last year Riley Moss, also out of Iowa, was rated as potential starting CB and got drafted by Denver. Don't remember hearing about him after the draft, and it looks like he only got in a few games as part time player late in the season. Not sure if he had an injury?
  16. That's bad luck. But also pretty damn stupid. At his own wedding he can't plan transportation? Or just walk if it's 3 blocks. Funny how poor planning and dumb decisions lead to bad luck
  17. We would be in a 24 year playoff drought
  18. Trubisky Kind'a makes sense. I do think he was a very good fit in the Daboll offense. Not sure how he'll do with Brady and the current offense. Hopefully we never find out.
  19. Good move by the Fish. I would rather that he stayed on their team and continue to be overpaid.
  20. I think that would be bad for the league long term. Private Equity groups have a ruined so many previously strong family businesses in recent decades. But it does make sense, there aren't too many individuals who can buy a majority share of an NFL club with values now exceeding $5B.
  21. Yep. Sunk costs. Let's say they have a chance to sign either Floyd or Jadeveon Clowney to a 1 year $5 million contract. It just comes down to who they think gives them the best value and best chance to have a good season. Floyd's old contract doesn't matter because they already paid his signing bonus in 2023.
  22. That post from DCofNC made me look up Blake Bortles. He's been out the league for 4 years. Last season was an LA Rams backup in 2019. He went to the AFCG as a relatively young QB in 2017 and was out of the league after 2 more years. And not injury related.
  23. As noted above. The Chiefs got the idea for the play from the Bills. Bills used it against the Chiefs in their previous Divisional playoff matchup
  24. Part of the reason why, is that it's contagious. The more mass shootings that happen and the more they're publicized, makes it more likely to put the idea in the head of the next maniac. If there was no incidence or news of mass shootings in the USA for the next 10 years, the chances of one happening in year 11 would be a lot less than it happening next week, while news is fresh. Ex. Columbine helped lead to many more school shootings. Also firearm technology has improved over the years, which is a factor in making the incidents more deadly
