  1. They won Because they cheated in 2018. With basically the same roster in 2019 they did not make the playoffs
  2. I was very upset after Saturday and decided to avoid all the post-mortem coverage for my mental health and take a Buffalo Bills break. But I couldn’t even make it 48 hours. After listening to the audio of Beane, it’s the first time I started to feel a little better since the meltdown on Saturday. He was accountable, thoughtful, and passionate yet measured. Having smart and strategic management at the top gives confidence that the team is in good shape going forward.
  3. That missed block is on Morse too. Both Knox and Morse forgot to block anyone. On the first QB Sweep. Morse blocked the LB and Knox made a block further downfield.
  4. Excellent post. good comments by you and Joe B. Too bad that it's all true. So many issues in that game
  5. Going into the 2017 draft the Bills and McD decided to rebuild. The first pillar of that strategy was to find the best college QB to draft and build around. The fact that they chose Allen over Watson, Mahomes, and Jackson is painful to watch this year. And I expect it will only become more painful as the Chiefs, Texans, and Ravens take turns representing the AFC in the SB for the next 5 - 10 years. As for for the question of which QB you want leading your team, watching Allen panic and choke the game away, while Watson lead a brilliant comeback. It couldn't be more apparent. I guarantee if you posted the same question to the Texans fan base it would be almost unanimous.
  6. Special teams always tilts 1 or 2 NFL playoff games each year. And not just made or missed FGs. On paper the Bills and Texans O's vs D's are pretty even match ups. So ST could be the difference. Yesterday, Someone posted the full game of a previous Buffalo vs Houston playoff game from New Years Day 1989. The Bills won that game on special teams. A blocked punt set-up their first TD, also had a blocked FG and the Oilers missed another FG influenced by pressure. The Bills also had outstanding kick coverage, plus they had a couple nice punt returns. 17 - 10 Bills victory. And we all know they have lost at least 1 playoff game on a last second Special Teams screw up.
  7. He was bad. But it looked like part of the poor performance was rust. Coming in cold in crappy rainy weather, to play with a bunch of other guys who haven't played in live action for months is not easy. Not that that he was great, but he looked a lot more comfortable in the 2nd half once he and the other back-ups got warmed up. 1st half : 9 attempts for 29 yards, 1 sack, 1 INT 2nd half: 26 attempts for 202 yards, no sacks, 1 INT You could do worse for a back-up QB. Could do better too.
  8. Listening to national sports talk on the radio. That topic was raised on 2 different stations and both times, the Titans were the choice. Tannehill being most efficient QB in NFL over the last 10 weeks, good running game, and defensive playmakers including Simmons, Casey, and Byard were given as reasons. Personally I think both the Bills and Titans have good chances for a victory on Saturday. Should be 2 close games. Baltimore and KC will be pretty big favorites over either Wildcard team.
  9. Did they give him a new contract this year? Whoops
  10. They have the Jets 3rd and the Fish 4th. Friggin Belichick.
  11. Don Shula, until he had Marino. I would make the argument that if he had been more conservative and had a better running game w Marino they would’ve been more successful and maybe won a SB together. Shula won 2 SBs and an NFL championship as a conservative coach. But never won a ring w Marino winging it all over the field.
  12. In general, I don't think the OP is making a fair or accurate assessment. Sure, the Milano is slow, and the Edmunds sucks posts in the last week are ridiculous. But many more posters, rightfully wrote to sight positives about both players. The doom and gloomers have been in the minority. For the most part when there is criticism, it is usually about specific instances and not calling for the coach or player to be replaced. Criticism is fair and necessary, if you embrace the growth mindset. 10 - 5 is exactly 2/3 positve and 1/3 negative results. I would estimate the 75 - 80% of the posts on this board have been supportive of the Bills this year. So we're ahead of the curve. 13. Well, Allen has a completion % of 53.5% or less in 6 games, and 5 were losses. Only win was against Steelers. He has completion % over 60% in the 9 other games and all were wins. So low completion % has been a significant factor in Bills 5 losses. http://www.nfl.com/player/joshallen/2560955/gamelogs
  14. Their opening day roster was one of the oldest in the league https://www.phillyvoice.com/ranking-nfl-teams-age-after-53-man-cutdowns-2019-edition/ but the core guys you would expect them to build around the next few years are very young
  15. Surprised to see Calvin Johnson left off. I don’t think TO belongs ahead of anyone who made it. He was an amazing route runner and got open all the time. But he dropped a lot of easy catches. Harrison and Largent had much better hands than TO. I don’t have a problem w any of the old guys who made it. All those guys were truly great football players who made a huge impact during their era. Good list overall
  16. I’m talking about travel. The question was If it would be a Saturday or Sunday game.
  17. It matters if you don’t live in Houston
  18. Russ definitely gets a pass. But man did he misjudge McD. I guess after a couple decades of bad coaches, he couldn’t see when a good one came along. It really was apparent even last year that McDermott was doing things the right way.
  19. Virgil good write up and I agree w most of your points. However, the Bills inability to find a solution for the pressure and blitzes was definitely the biggest reason for the L today. Whether you want to blame, O-line, Allen, Daboll or WRs, they had no answer at the end of the game. Allen was getting sacked or throwing up prayers. Yes they were in position to tie the game, but the entire last drive was penalty yards. The O could not hold off the rush to make a play in the passing game
  20. 125 - 1. It doesn’t feel so good when the officiating is not fair does it NE fans. Welcome to the other side Bastards
  21. So good to see 2 calls go against NE. Their fans get to see the other side. just need 200 more and they’ll be even
  22. Thanks for posting. That was one of my favorite games of the Bills SB era. Was at the game but Didn’t remember a lot of the details due to the flask of liquid keeping me warm throughout the game. I did remember Andre breaking free for a couple TDa, but was surprised to see what a big game Lofton had too.
  23. No on Watkins. Percy w Bills is a good comparison. Just like Harvin, he cant stay healthy on the field. The problem isn’t the contract. The problem is wasting a spot on the 53 man roster for a guy who you never know will be ready week to week.
  24. For 2018 if you look, just at the QBs, not full team Stats. - Of the top 8 QBs in passing yards, 5/8 made the playoffs Mahomes, Goff, Luck, Brady, Rivers made it Big Ben, M. Ryan, Rodgers didn't make it, Of the 2018 AFC playoff teams only Baltimore did not have a QB in the top 12 for passing yards.
