Week 9, Fish v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Reks Ryan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 37 Fish 22 Josh owns Miami. Fish get some garbage time points against our back-ups -
Cook/Shakir/Oliver/Benford vs Hall/Wilson/Williams/Gardner
Reks Ryan replied to Chugga's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hall and Wilson both went top 5 in my fantasy draft. I thought it was insane that 2 Jets went that high. If you play for a bad offense, TDs and fantasy scoring will be down. It does speak to the perception of talent. I thing if there was an actual league-wide redraft today, all 4 of NYJ the OP lists, would be drafted ahead of any current Bills player, not named Josh Allen. -
The next 6 games will be interesting.
Reks Ryan replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just did the exercise of picking every game. Have Bills finishing at 12 - 5, including mail-it-in rest Josh & starters loss at NE in week 18. In the scenario of my picks they're 12 - 4 going into the last week. Tied with Baltimore also 12-4 for #2 seed, but w tie-breaker going to Ravens, Bills rest starters and accept 3 Seed. AFC seeds, 1. Chiefs, 2. Ravens, 3. Bills 4. Texans, 5. Steelers 6. Bengals, 7. Chargers. Bengals w 9- 8 record get wild card and come to Buffalo for round 1 In the NFC I have GB winning the North and #1 seed. NFC wild card teams are going to be so much better than AFC wildcards. Vikings plus either Lions or Packers, and either Commanders or Eagles are likely wild card teams. -
Bernard did not come back in the game after the lower leg injury. On the TV broadcast they announced he was ruled out . So it seems he would not have come back even if the game was close. it looked to me like a non contact injury, which worried me that it could be his Achilles. But he may have stepped on a foot and rolled his ankle.

Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
Reks Ryan replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I imagine this is a sarcastic post. But just in case you're serious. Why in the world would you want the guy who has been the 2nd worst head coach over the last 3+ seasons to come in and make the Bills dysfunctional? Saleh has have had plenty of talent the last couple years, but continues to lose at a high rate. Wish he had lasted in NJ 1 more week -
finally. Ridiculous that he lasted this long. Terrible results, but there was always an excuse for him

Week 5, Bills v. Texans, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Reks Ryan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Texans 34 Bills 31 Bass misses a late FG -
You left off Defensive End. That would be my pick. And a top flight safety would make a huge difference. Imagine Kyle Hamilton on the Bills. Going from back-up level at best, to an All-Pro would be a game changer. if Bills had a defense that.could hold Chiefs, Ravens, Bengals, 49ers, Lions, etc to 20 or less, Josh Allen could lead the team to the SB with the offense they have now.

It's weird seeing 32 by a random player in a Bills uniform. So many iconic highlights of OJ. And it's ironic that 32 was made famous by the fastest most dynamic RB in Bills history, is now worn by the slowest most plodding LB in Bills history.

He's replacement level at best. Cam Lewis is another replacement level player who struggles against top offenses and more athletic players. The bright side to me is that the weakness was exposed early in the season. Hopefully Taron returns in the next week or 2 and the staff puts in Edwards in place of Hamlin. IMO Edwards & Bishop will be our safeties at the end of the year, if healthy.

I didn't really understand the pre-season enthusiasm. He looks terrible to me. Although there are some good points in this thread about how the timing and tendencies of Davis usage are not doing him any favors. Maybe he will improve if he gets a chance to develop some rhythm. I'd prefer to give his snaps to Johnson, except for blow-outs.

It looks every other Beane & co have hit on some good later round picks. 2018, 2020, 2022 and hopefully 2024 were very good. The odd years were flops.

That’s ridiculous. There should be about a dozen D-lineman released from other teams today who would be an upgrade

Do Athletes endorsements affect your purchasing?
Reks Ryan replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only in a negative way.. If Tom Brady is endorsing a product, I will think twice about buying it. And I stopped using Draft Kings years ago when I became aware that Jerry Jones & Robert Kraft were significant investors. There’s a local sandwich shop in Florida called Miami Subs. 20 years ago living in Fort Lauderdale I used to go there about once a week. They ran an anti-bills campaign, don’t remember exactly what the promotion was, but they had signs up that were kind of the inverse of Squish the Fish, against the Bills. I walked out of the store and never went back. -
Curtis Samuel Turf Toe, Other Injury Updates
Reks Ryan replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Your post, got me to look up the 2017 roster. That receiving corp was so inadequate, they traded a 3rd round pick for Kelvin Benjamin mid-year. Deonte Thompson led the WRs with 440 yards, both Charles Clay & Shady McCoy had slightly more. The OL from Center left; Wood, Incognito, Dawkins was good, but the right side was Vlad Ducase and Jordan Mills. Tyrod probably deserves more credit for a winning record and getting that team to the playoffs. Having said that, if Samuel is out, I think the 2024 receivers could be almost as bad. -
Who was your all-time favorite player that was NOT on the Bills?
Reks Ryan replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ronnie Lott Drew Pearson Roger Staubach Charlie Joiner Lester Hayes Dave Casper Kenny Stabler Walter Payton Those guys all played when I was a kid. As an adult I basically just root for the Bills. But some of the players that have been great to watch… Jerry Rice Peyton Manning Marvin Harrison Bill Romanowski Christian Mccaffery Ryan Fitzpatrick. Not counting his Bills years. It was more fun to watch him play when he wasn’t on the Bills. -
What level of player do you think you can keep on the team all year as the 5th or 6th WR? If he's not a ST contributor, he will be inactive most games. Seriously, do you have examples from last year of another team that had significantly better WR as their 5th or 6th guy going into the postseason

Justice Dept is filling an antitrust suit against Ticketmaster. Although the linked article specifically talks about the concert business, I Hope this helps reduce the cost of NFL tickets on the resale market. I am not generally pro-regulation. But I do believe that Ticketmaster has unfair advantages and their business model has many aspects of a monopoly. Prices to attend sporting events and concerts have gone insane the last few years. In my opinion, way above where true free-market conditions would have taken prices. https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-sues-break-live-nation-143239439.html

Anybody been to a game in Miami? Worth going?
Reks Ryan replied to DCofNC's topic in The Stadium Wall
True. But you can always look for the restaurants and stores with "we speak English" signs. On a serious note, it's well worth the trip. A lot good restaurants and beach hotels between Miami & Fort Lauderdale. And tons of bills fans at the game and around town. I will probably miss this year for a business trip, but will only be the 2nd time in 20+ years that I won't see the Bills in Miami. Josh generally destroys the fish, so it's been a good time for us in recent years -
It would have been better to have the double header week, so we get the alternate announcers. We don't want Buck & Aikman doing Bills. Buck is the worst & Aikman is annoying, but more importantly the Bills are 0'fer with those 2 guys announcing games

Bills sign Chase Claypool, Smoot, Jones

When did he become Uber talented? I would think his agent would want to publicize that development
