  1. I feel the same way! I've had my Sirius subscription since September 2005 and I feel spoiled by having it. I won't listen to the radio in my area except for local sports. The commercial-free music is great for traveling and the NFL games give me a chance to hear the Bills if I can't watch them on TV (generally tough here in Central Illinois but I have Sunday Ticket for the second half of the season).
  2. May wanna warn people that the language is NSFW.
  3. The League is one of my favorite shows on TV. The first season was more about the core group of guys in the league. Definitely check out the first season if you can (Netflix? or DVD). For season two they've expanded with more cameos from NFL players.
  4. ESPN's profile of Tony Washington from August.
  5. I think you're right. I remember Kevin Harlan mentioned this stat at the beginning of the Bills/Steelers game Sunday.
  6. Gene Stallings and Bobby Bowden will coach. "College Football Hall of Famer Gene Stallings will coach the other team, and former players who are taking part on the trip include Jim Kelly, Rodney Peete, LaVar Arrington, Zach Thomas, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Antonio Freeman, Ron Dayne and Jevon Kearse."
  7. I like listening to Gus Johnson as well. He does many of the men's basketball games here in Big Ten country so I have a chance to watch and listen to him quite a bit. I'd really like to see Gus call a Super Bowl, no matter who his analyst is for the game.
  8. The first thing I notice with that clip is how loud the stadium is and how they respond to the bills' offense asking for quiet. The younger Bills fans who don't recall the heyday for the late-80's/early 90's take note: This is how loud the stadium will be when the Bills start winning division titles again. Bring your voices (and your earplugs)!
  9. The original post that generated these photos has another variation of the Bills jersey. I'm not a fan of the white stripe on the pants. Everything else looks really good. Then again, anything is an improvement over the current ones.
  10. Spike TV has been running Band of Brothers marathons on occasion, so maybe they'll have one soon. I also just picked up a paperback copy of Band of Brothers. Should be a good read if the series is any indication.
  11. Hopefully it doesn't cruise like the Carnival Splendor just did!
  12. Giving you a heads-up that The Pacific will run back-to-back tomorrow (all 10 episodes in order) on HBO (the main channel) beginning at 2pm ET/1pm CT. I have not seen any episodes so I'm DVR'ing the series tomorrow.
  13. Jason Garrett was supposedly the hand-picked successor a few years ago. If I remember it correctly they threw a bunch of money at him to stay in Dallas. Now we'll get to see if he's up to the task with Jon Kitna as quarterback, who is someone that would be lower on my list of "QB's I'd want to start for me as an interim coach trying to get the full-time gig".
  14. No problems that I could see with my subscription. The only issue I had was on my local Fox affiliate- not one of the Sunday Ticket "700" channels. The High Definition signal disappeared somewhere in the first half for a few series then returned sometime in the 2nd quarter.
  15. I had the same problem with my local Fox affiliate. Somewhere in the first quarter they lost the High Def feed for a few series. Eventually the High Def came back but that standard definition looked bad on my end.
  16. Angelo Crowell? Or Kawika Mitchell?
  17. They sent the e-mail to people who subscribe to the Bills' e-mail list. I live in Illinois so I don't have an idea about parking in Lot 1.
  18. The Merriman Chargers replica jerseys are on sale at NFL Shop for $20. Today they have free shipping available and you get an additional 20% off with the promo code GR8FANS. I'm picking one up (the alternate color jersey) for $16 after taxes. Do I expect Merriman to be around after 2010? I doubt it. But it might be fun to wear if he makes some plays for the Bills this year.
  19. He was holed up in his home waiting for the Buffalo-Waterfront Bass Pro Shop to have an online sale on parkas before he took that flight east.
  20. Y'know, Biscuit wore #55 for a time when he was traded to the Bills. Just sayin'. Maybe WGR will cover Merriman fines if they could add a 0 to the end of his jersey #?
  21. Kinda eerie timing for me that Sparky passes away shortly after I read this book, which is a very good sports read, IMO. RIP "Captain Hook".
  22. Promo, we should make you honorary spokesperson for the Toronto Bills series. You're always answering this question 9even from me!).
  23. I got that e-mail, too. The 'man' is just trying to keep you down. Or maybe he's drumming up money to plunk down on a re-invigorated "Lights Out" Merriman for 2011?
  24. Tim Graham seems to think the Bills could get a compensatory pick for Merriman next year: "And if Merriman does leave via free agency, then the Bills likely would receive a compensatory draft pick dependent upon the size of the contract he signs and any additional guidelines set forth in the new collective bargaining agreement. Maybe the Bills get a fourth- or fifth-round pick out of the experience." Link to full article.
