  1. UPDATE: Coach Sal Capaccio is joining WGR as a weekend host, according to him on Twitter:

@SalSports Sal Capaccio Very thrilled, proud, and honored to say I’ll be joining the great staff of @WGR550 this fall as a weekend talk host.....

....I’ll have more details on what days/times I’l be on as the time gets closer. But, for now, just want to say Thank You ...

...to Andy Roth, Tim Wenger (@TWenger930), Kevin Carr, and Entercom for bringing me aboard....

....and allowing me to live out one of my life’s dreams and goals. I’m ready to get to work and talk sports with #Buffalo! 8 minutes ago via web

  2. Grew up on the Big Ten;I follow Illinois. My previous career in TV news allowed me to go to many Big Ten games in Urbana-Champaign and all over the midwest. I am proud to say I attended the Rose Bowl in 2008; I highly recommend going to the game if you can. The scenery is some of the best in the USA for a college game.

I have a few schools I like to watch/support: Auburn (friend went to Grad School there), Georgia, Texas, Southern Illinois (my alma mater), whoever's playing USC or Notre Dame. I am not an avid watcher but I try to watch games when I can. I receive the Big Ten Network so that's what I'll watch most of the time unless one of the above teams is on.

  3. I guess like the Bills folks are used to crappy sports radio.. Other cities have good stations. We are stuck with WGR. Unfortunately it would take a Terry Pegula to build a station. It's not worth the investment for the local broadcasting companies. Talk radio is expensive to do well. And all you have for sponsors is Mama Pecorarro.

I mentioned this on the Shout Box..... I've been listening to WGR for the Jim Rome Show (and hopefully some Bills-related talk) for a few weeks. I am sick and tired of every other commercial being Mama Pecorarro. "WE NEED MORE PEPPERS!" Enough! I can easily sympathize with those of you who've been listening a lot longer to WGR and had to put up with this. And Schopp and Bulldog.... thankfully I have other options because I am not impressed. They don't keep me engaged in their conversations. They aren't funny and they don't give me much to think about.

I would make a suggestion- if anyone from WGR is reading this thread: Hire Coach Sal Capaccio. The man knows his sports; knows his Buffalo sports; and will be straight-forward and not come off as abrasive. If his broadcasts online are any indication, he would bring in the listeners and spark some lively conversations with them. Plus, maybe he could attract other advertisers besides Lakefront Automotive (or whoever Pecorarro is with).

  4. No matter how loaded with talent the Pats* get they won't be able to escape the 18-1 season until they win another Super Bowl, IMO. Add all the Pro Bowlers you want, but they have not produced championships with them on the roster the past six seasons.

I know we should be so lucky as Bills fans to have that issue.

  5. Who's Burnett?

Mark Burnett, the creator of 'Survivor' and other reality TV. They're producing a training camp series by following the Bills and their participation in Free Agency. It's gonna be called 'Asleep At the Wheel.'

(sarcasm is now turned off. Burnett is an ILB from the Chargers)

  6. And, just four years ago, she was top teacher. It's kind of creepy reading this article knowing what she just did.

    top teacher

From the online article: "Amy Jackson likes to have fun in her seventh grade language arts class at Claxton Middle School."

Apparently, a truer statement has never been said about Ms. Jackson.

  7. Rule #1 in training camp: bring in an extra P and PK so your starters aren't tiring themselves out.

Hip hip hooray if Forest turns into the next Ray Guy, but don't get your hopes up that Moorman won't still be the guy on 9/11 against KC.

Agreed. It's all about saving the leg during camp. It might be a longshot to unseat Moorman but you never know. Maybe if Moorman gets hurt during the season you have Reid Forest on speed dial?

  8. Have any of you who have signed up for text alerts from the Bills received any in the past few days? I'm signed up but want to be sure I am receiving the updates for any player movements this week. I did receive the response text from the Bills when I signed up, but that was a few weeks ago.

  9. Thanks for the info! I did see that app and wondered if it was either the regular app or the pro app.

A P1 is someone that listens to their station 100% of the time. I consider myself one. The only times I don't

listen is when I walk to R & B Hip Hop while I walk my daily 5K and when I can't watch my Rangers and have to listen to their station. The Ticket is the play by play radio station of the Dallas Stars. I live in Arlington

Texas. My house is 5 miles south of Cowboy Stadium and The Ballpark in Arlinton.

In listening this week I heard Fake Jerrah Jones and this morning they had a Platinum-Level Astronaut call in (referring to Musers morning show).
