  1. Maybe Jasper was caught smuggling some authentic Canadian Bacon across the border?

I honestly hope this Merriman rumor is untrue, simply because I want to believe the guy is back to form in a legitimate way (not cheating). Most of us agree, if not all of us, that a healthy Merriman is critical to the defense's success (and the team's, to a degree) in 2011.

  2. I had Sunday Ticket through a mid-season promotion last year (upgrade to their Premier package for 6 months and ST was included at no extra charge). I must not have cancelled Sunday Ticket yet so now the potential charge of $53.99 is showing on my bill. I called DirecTV and the CSR just offered the $20 off for 6 months, and I politely declined. I did receive a call a couple of weeks ago from DirecTv's outbound marketing/sales people offering me another deal (not involving Sunday Ticket) so I may call them back tonight and ask for a deal with Sunday Ticket.

  3. I don't know if anyone else caught this on Sirius this morning, but Ross Tucker was discussing Maybin with a caller from Baltimore. He said that Aaron's 2011 salary is in the range of $750k- all of which might be guaranteed- and that there wouldn't be a big savings if the Bills cut him. Ross added that Maybin's getting reps as a backup so he may be valuable as an inexpensive (if not ineffective) backup at OLB. Ross mentioned just before that- to the same caller's question- that he watched Maybin in practice last night and he didn't have any positive words about him.

  4. I trust Sal with the information he was given by Donte. It's disappointing that Donte did not keep Sal up to speed when this deal with San Fran was developing. If Donte had agreed to let Sal break the news of his signing with a team he should have kept him informed on the changes.

Nonetheless, Donte is not a member of the Buffalo Bills for 2011. Time to let him go and focus on the guys we have on the roster.

  5. WoW! a major +1 to this. There are so many graphic and such, its hard to figure out where the actual post are.

How about the poster "Joe from Florence"? The Andy Dalton picture- Dalton's Gang- in his signature looks very Brokeback Mountain-ish (not that there's anything wrong with that).

  6. I cannot recall the last time I tuned in- maybe 2005 to see how the Telethon was affected by Hurricane Katrina? When I was younger I thought I would watch the Telethon straight through one of these years- never did. Sounds like it's been pared down to a 6-hour show on Sunday night, but who will anchor the broadcast?

Also, something seems amiss with this whole thing- Jerry might have quit or the MDA removed Jerry (the move is made about one month from the Telethon); show condensed from 21+ hours to six. I get cutting back on the length of the broadcast, but this and Jerry's departure cannot bode well for MDA this year and in the future.

  7. Copying my post from the old WGR thread...

  9. Grew up on the Big Ten;I follow Illinois. My previous career in TV news allowed me to go to many Big Ten games in Urbana-Champaign and all over the midwest. I am proud to say I attended the Rose Bowl in 2008; I highly recommend going to the game if you can. The scenery is some of the best in the USA for a college game.

I have a few schools I like to watch/support: Auburn (friend went to Grad School there), Georgia, Texas, Southern Illinois (my alma mater), whoever's playing USC or Notre Dame. I am not an avid watcher but I try to watch games when I can. I receive the Big Ten Network so that's what I'll watch most of the time unless one of the above teams is on.
