  1. I'm part of the public, huckelberry, and I'd like it.
  2. I think it made a lot of sense. I understood it completely. Additionally; the reason Buffalo will not take a QB at 8 is that there are no QB's in this draft worth being selected that high. This in spite of the fact that QB may arguably be our position of greatest need. To put it another way; if you have a hunger for a ripe jucy apple, you don't go out and pick one from a bushel of rotten apples, unless of course, you enjoy being sick. Sick is exactly what many Bills fans we become if we pick one of those bozos at 8. One disclaimer; I am not a physician.
  3. Here's a hand to Buddy for a really good draft. Here's hopin you have one more left in ya.
  4. I love safe picks. Give me a safe pick over a Maybin, or a McCargo, or a Losman, or a Flowers, or a Smith, or a Williams, or a Burroughs, or a Harman, or a Bell, or a Tuttle, or a Moore, or a Cousineau, or a Doaks, or a Ruud, or a Gant, or a Patulski, or a Cowlings.
  5. Might I suggest 1 shot of Jack Daniels, I shot of Triple Sec, 1 shot of Sweet & Sour mix, and two shots of Coke poured over rocks. We call it Tennessee Tea. Call me a long time Bills fan.
  6. Makes me think you've been to those places once or twice. What are you saying? We should discard all of our scouting reports and throw darts at our board?
  7. You may be right about Glenn and a new LT as I have not been thrilled with our RT players but what is your plan for Guard? Guard is the position of greatest need and I don't buy that old saw about being able to get guards in later rounds. There are always bodies in those rounds but as many guards drafted there turn out to be really good as the number of tackles drafted in those rounds; i.e., not many. Additionally, the top three tackles in this draft are likely to be gone when Buffalo picks at 8 and it isn't the OTs that have to deal with that Patriot beast. Recall the days when we had Ted Washington at nose. What did Parcells do to deal with Washington? He signed that big center (gads, can't remember his name) from Seattle. You must be able to neutralize the things that your opponent does well. Getting big, mean, and nasty in the middle of our O-line is something Buffalo must do.
  8. Watch the scramble this year for Warmack and Cooper. Cookie Cutter draft thinking = poor drafting. One more thing about Levitre; it is said that he was a good pass blocker but at barely 300 lbs, actually more like 295, he didn't get much of a push. This could be another reason why the team let him go. Buffalo faces a strong middle Patriot D twice a year. We need athletic guards with brute strength that can move that D and beating the Patriots should be the Team's first objective on it's way to the SB.
  9. Buffalo should always draft from positions of strength in any particular draft. Positions of strength in this year's draft are Receivers, TEs, OLBs. There are a few outstanding O-lineman in this draft but most are almost certain to go in the first round and there is a drop off after that. To insure that you get an outstanding O-lineman, you must get one in the first round in my opinion. My pick would be Warmack. I think the first round this year will be notable for bold moves by many teams needing O-line help to position themselves for a shot at one of the big 5. You know who those are. Buffalo Lost Levitre and an important backup at the guard position. To say that the team has had a good O-line the past few years and should have one this year even after the loss of Levitre and the other guard is like sticking your head in the sand to avoid reality. The team is particularly weak at that position. Nor is it correct to say that because we lost Levitre to an insane offer, Buffalo will not try to retain guards after their initial contract, or that Buffalo should not draft another guard. Buffalo, not long ago, lost Winfield to an insane offer by Minnesota and Nate Clements to an insane offer by San Francisco. Buffalo will not match insane offers at any position. This is a poor year for QBs. Buffalo should not draft one in the first three rounds. Next year looks much better. After guard, the team needs to find a tight end and a receiver. So there you have it, Guard at 1, TE at 2, WR at 3. That will fill major holes on offense and fit Marrone's scheme for a strong running game and west coast passing atack.
  10. Who are they that are ready to step up and in? What you have posted is hopes and wishes. This team has holes to fill. I like McKelvin at CB and T.J. Graham at RW better than Snow at LG. I like Bradham at OLB better than Pears at RT. We have better players at some of those other holes than the players we have at LG and RT. Do you really need to see our RB stuffed behind the LOS and our QB turned to mashed potatoes to understand that we have a problem with our O-line?
  11. The problem with the QBs in this draft is that NO ONE is convinced that they are any good. Additionally, you don't waste a pick if you can fill a hole with a guy that can dominate at his position for the next ten years. You probably will waste a pick if you select one of these QB bozos. There are no Tannehills in this draft. Recall how Alabama destroyed Notre Dame's well regarded defense last January? Buffalo could have that kind of dominance with the draft plan I'm proposing. Next year, Buffalo selects the Alabama QB or the Louisville QB or the Clemson QB or the Georgia QB or the Texas A & M QB, all of which are way better than those in this draft.
  12. I watched Path to the Draft last night and noticed that David Snow, a rookie last year, was shown as Buffalo's starting left guard. Who is David Snow??? How did we get him??? This cannot stand so I'm proposing that Buffalo selects Chance Warmack with it's 8th selection, then trades back into the bottom of the first to draft D.J. Fluker. Warmack plays LG, Fluker plays RT and Buffalo has an awsome Line that can move the LOS and protect whomever plays QB. This is the way that Buffalo gains relevance in the NFL. Build an O-line that takes full advantage of Spiller's talent and gives our QB enough time to connect with any WR the team might choose to put on it's roster. We'll get our franchise QB next year and he'll have the chance to develop without getting beaten to a pulp.
  13. Have you been drinking?
  14. In my opinion, unless the Bills have a strong conviction about one of the QBs, they should not select one in the first three rounds. The early rounds should not be about thinking that a player could or might be able to do what you think he should do. It should be about being convinced that the player can do it. Are there any QBs in this class that give you that conviction? As for Fluker; I like him in the 2nd. I'm always happy when capable linemen are selected. You cannot win without good linemen.
  15. Could you please use larger print. Why take the time to respond if people can't read what you type?
  16. That's his problem. He doesn't always catch it. The first question anyone should ask when evaluating a WR is, can he be relied on to always make the catch? Patterson isn't that guy.
  17. I know what I want and it isn't a QB in the first three rounds. This class of QBs is way below average and if Buddy wastes a premium pick on one of these bozos, he should be fired. He probably should be fired anyway but that topic has been well covered here previously. The strength of this draft is in linemen, receivers, and tight ends. You always draft from positions of strength. You never try to guess that someone from a below average group will magically become a franchise player. Buffalo's first pick should be Chance Warmack, Jonathon Cooper or Star Lotulelei. You say you have a hard time replacing something we just loss? Blame Buddy but don't believe that if Buffalo ignores an obvious hole it will somehow be filled. Buffalo needs a strong running game to help protect our QB and to have offensive balance even in bad weather. I don't buy those arguments that very good guards can be had in later rounds as a reason for not taking an outstanding guard early if you have a gaping hole at guard. Both Warmack and Cooper have can't miss qualities and Buffalo needs it's first pick to be a can't miss player. Lotulelei can play nose or 34 DE and is considered one of the 2-3 best players in this draft along with Warmack and Cooper. and the group of OTs which are likely to be gone before we pick.. Round 2? The best receiver or TE on the board. TE is extremely important in Marrone's offense and Buffalo absolutely must have one from this year's very strong class. Round 3? Ditto. Lets fix our offense and fill D holes with later picks and free agents this year. Next year, go all in on a QB, one good enough to start in his rookie year. Trade all of our picks to move up if necessary but that is the plan. Get our QB next year from a group that everyone says will be much stronger than this years' group. Buffalo can challenge New England in two years if we do this right. Round 4 this year? QB Matt Scott or that kid from Washington State. These players have as good a chance as any or the "big names" and, who knows, maybe Buffalo will hit it big but if not, we've at least fixed our O. Rounds 5 & 6? Best LBs on the board.
  18. You know this because??? Fact is Flynn does not have a strong arm but if this report is true, it could indicate that Buddy and the gang do not like any of the draft's QB at #8. Plan B might be to get Flynn for a 5th or 6th rd. pick. Select players at other positions with their 1st., 2nd., and 3rd. picks and a QB like Matt Scott or Jeff Tuel in the 4th.
  19. If this were true, why did Tennessee give Levitre the 50 million contract. Why did Minnesota give Seattle that poison pill contract, then make him the highest paid O-lineman in the NFL? I've heard this opinion expressed here before. I think it is highly uninformed.
  20. I have been a Nix fan since he was hired. But I've come to see him as failing to deliver for the team and fans. Forget QB for the moment. When Nix became GM, he converted our D to a 34. That didn't work out. He then switched to a 43 and paid 100 mil for a DE and another 30 mil for another DE. The 30 mil DE was injured for much of the season and when he did play, looked like nothing special. The big buck DE showed up on occasion but was not worth what he was paid. How much did last year's spending lead to not making a competitive contract offer to Levitre last year which led to his loss this year? Did it lead to not spending for free agents this year? This year he hired a coach that wants to switch back to the 34 making the big buck DE a part time player. Then there's Fitz. He started one year red hot after having a decent previous year. Nix panicked thinking he needed to make a substantial contract offer or lose him. Fitz signed the contract and almost immediately crashed. Now, I'm concerned that Nix is about to make another error and use the 8th pick for a 2nd or 3rd round quality QB. Many fans here think the bozo QBs available this year can step in and do what the QB's in last years draft did; start immediately. Ain't gonna happen with this group. Tarvaris will start this year. Next year starting caliber QBs from Georgia, Clemson, Louisville, and perhaps Texas A & M will be available but because Nix picked a bozo this year leaving a big hole at another position that might have been filled with 8 this year; he , Whaley or someone else will try to fill that hole next year and pass on one of those QB thinking we have a young one from this year to develop. On and on it goes and Buffalo continues to struggle in the cellar of the AFC East.
  21. This is true of every QB in this draft. Tuel is interesting though. 6'3", 218, 4.6-40. Great escapability and speed. Nice touch on long ball. Strong arm. A 4th rounder???
  22. Isn't the player that is the "less bad" player than any other player in the draft really the best player?????
  23. How many time does it have to be said over and over again? There is no QB resolution for the Bills in this class of QBs.
  24. I'm not expecting this team to improve this year and neither should you. The Bills just lost a fine LG and a good backup guard, and the kind of o-line coordination you get with a veteran group that has played together. After going from a 34 D to a 43 and signing a 100 mil DE to play in that 43, we're now going back to a 34/43 hybrid without LBS to play the 34 and with a multi- millionaire DE that doesn't like to play LB. We have only one receiver, and if we drafted a QB, do you expect him to start and give us a better record that 6 and 10?. You really expect us to improve this year????? If we draft one of the turkey QBs this year, next year or the year after, you and everyone else will be screaming for Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater. Buffalo should not be satisfied with a QB that will likely be no better than the one we just jetissoned. We need a QB that can play with the Bradys and Mannings. Lets fill our holes this year and next year pull a Ditka for that great QB.
