  1. I actually feel sorry for Giants fans. Gettleman sounds like a tremendous meathead.
  2. Allen's footwork and mechanics were sooooo bad at Wyoming. Whoever is QB coach there should be fired. That's why I don't think Allen will be ready to play in 2018. He needs a full year of practicing his footwork to the point where he doesn't even think about it while the bullets are flying. Muscle memory. Daboll knows exactly how important that is to an NFL QB, working with Brady all those years.
  3. He plays a lot of hero ball, which has killed his statistics. He probably thought he needed to do that because of Wyoming's disadvantages. But he can't do that in the NFL. He'll quickly play his way out of the league if he lacks the proper amount of wisdom.
  4. Five-star recruit out of high school, signed with Oklahoma. Played two seasons there, transferred to A&M. Ford's career started in Oklahoma, but midway through his five years on campus, it was time for a change. The five-star recruit and top-10 running back prospect nationally joined the Sooners in 2013, getting some carries during his 10 games of action (23 carries, 134 yards, one touchdown). The following year, he started three of eight games played, making an impact as a rusher (63 carries, 369 yards, five touchdowns) and receiver (11 receptions, 140 yards, one touchdown). Ford was suspended during 2015 spring practices, however, for academic and team rules violations. He stated that Sooners running back coach Jay Boulware treated him like he was "in high school." A transfer to A&M was in the cards, and he was named the team's Offensive Scout Team MVP while redshirting the fall of 2015. Ford started nine games in his first year of action with the Aggies, playing in all 13 to rush for 669 yards and six scores on 126 carries (five receptions, 81 yards). Overview Ford is a one-speed, straight ahead runner who looks to duck his head and ground out yardage through physicality. His lack of vision and elusiveness puts a cap on what he can offer a team as a runner, but he does have NFL size and a chance to earn a roster spot if he can prove to be a tough yardage specialist with plus coverage ability on coverage teams. Strengths Scouts say he loves football and is willing to put good effort into practices Determined runner with good NFL size Can bulldoze forward as a pile mover Has enough footwork to make an initial tackler miss Consistently drops pad level and accelerates into contact helping him finish falling forward Not a dynamic pass catcher, but can handle basic receiving duties out of backfield Possesses size and toughness to handle blitz pickup on passing downs Weaknesses Lacks finesse and can be a bull when running in constricted tighter creases Tight-hipped in his cuts and isn't going to run with much knee or hip bend in general Has to gear down to make his cuts Single speed runner Can make the first guy miss at times, but doesn't have the agility to string moves together Vision is somewhat basic and doesn't show an innate feel for backside cutback opportunities Sources Tell Us "I don't think he's always easy to deal with for coaches and that is certainly what I got from Oklahoma when I asked about him in there. He has good size and is tough which is what we look for." - NFC area scout
  5. I think Eli is a better comparison.
  6. You think Matt Ryan is Rosen's floor??!? Take it easy, man. I preferred Rosen as well and also think he'll be better if he can stay healthy but Rosen was never a generational talent at UCLA. There's a reason he fell to 10 and the team that did pick him actually preferred Allen over him.
  7. Milano is a stud and Edmunds is a generational talent. Why worry?
  8. One thing nearly all of these UDFA players have in common: they all come from Power Five (if not powerhouse) programs. We're taking excellent athletes who may have simply been overshadowed (for one reason or another) by better players at power programs. Interesting strategy.
  9. Zapoticky looks like Drew Brees.
  10. The right play is to start the winner between McCarron and Peterman. See how things go halfway through the year and how Allen is developing in practice and in the film room. If Allen is ready, then let him start the last 4-8 games in the season. If he's not ready or if McCarron/Peterman is playing too good to be replaced (best case scenario) then keep his redshirt for the remainder of the season. The best thing about this 2018 season is that there's no pressure. It's a development year, building for a run in 2019 and beyond.
  11. Maybe Conor McDermott told them that Rosen is a dick and not a leader.
  12. Very impressed with our UDFA haul this year. Could see at least two or three making the final 53 this September.
  13. Waldman's bottom line regarding Josh Allen: Freak physical characteristics, very little wisdom. He's everything the NFL establishment (aka dinosaurs) want in a quarterback prospect. They think they can teach him the wisdom that prevented from being successful in college.
  14. And then a few years later the snowflakes will demand it be taken down because of his tweets.
  15. Why do you assume I haven't?
  16. Greg Rosenthal loves our draft! http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000929261/article/2018-nfl-draft-debrief-winners-and-losers-from-round-1?campaign=tw-nf-sf187936801-sf187936801&sf187936801=1 Losers Buffalo Bills: The Bills traded out of their No. 10 overall pick a year ago, passing on the chance to draft Patrick Mahomes or Deshaun Watson in favor of amassing draft capital. This season, the Bills usedsignificant draft capital to trade up for quarterback Josh Allen (moving from 12th overall to seventh). The kids would call that hustling backward, especially when Allen has an uphill climb just to surpass previous Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor's level of production. Bills fans will point to this being the first draft for GM Brandon Beane, who was hired last May, but that only emphasizes how tricky it is to come up with a cohesive roster when the GM and coach are always in flux. Allen could prove his skeptics wrong, and his athleticism is unquestionable, but Josh Rosen has clearly displayed a more obvious NFL skill set. Allen is reminiscent of a souped-up version of another Bills first-round quarterback: J.P. Losman, a player with accuracy issues who was a star in the pre-draft season because of his measurables. Losman was taken 22nd overall in the 2004 NFL Draft and proceeded to compile a 10-23 record in Buffalo.
  17. Did he mention how fast Allen's eyes are?
  18. We got ourselves quite a battle brewing here... Who is the queen of Buffalo? AJ McCarron's wife Katherine Webb Jordan Poyer's wife Rachel Bush... Josh Allen's girlfriend Brittany Williams...
  19. I'm aware of various college systems. I'm also aware that a good passer of the football will tend to have a good passer rating regardless of system. A quarterback that struggles passing the football will not magically become a great passer when he makes the transition to the NFL. When is the last quarterback to succeed in the NFL after having a passer rating ranked in the 80's in his final season of college? I'll wait.
  20. "QB rating is meaningless" guy came later than I expected. . "Stats are for losers!"
