The analytical writers know the what, but have no idea how to explain the why. It looks to me as if they're making predictions based on numbers but completely ignoring context. They're comparing the completion percentage of a guy at Wyoming to a guy at Oklahoma, which is absolutely absurd. College stats are more about the offensive system than the quarterback.

Yep, terrible.

Rumour: Rosen and Mayfield were off the Bills' Board
Wayne Arnold replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fortunately, I don't see that "rip my own mother's heart out of her chest and eat it for a win" mentality in Darnold that exists in Brady. -
I don't agree. Allen has precise throwing accuracy with his arm...when his feet are set and he has proper motion. He's proven that. The issue is that he had such sloppy footwork at Wyoming that caused not-so-perfect throws. Not to mention his extreme gunslinger mentality that was never fully addressed for one reason or another. Either (a) his coaches at Wyoming didn't care to correct his mechanics and decision-making because he made so many big plays regardless of them that the good outweighed the bad, (b) his coaches were too inept to properly teach him, or (c) they taught him but he either refused to or is incapable of learning. I'm guessing it's not (c) because he seemed to make progress under Palmer in the pre-draft process - at least with regard to his footwork. I think the answer is mostly (a) - the only way to score touchdowns or make plays in that horrid offense with his struggling surrounding support was to force plays. Although I'm sure Allen deserved some blame as well. Can this staff teach him how to manage a football game? We'll see.

So the quarterback our team considered to be the best in the draft now plays in our division for the next 20 years. -
Dumbest Power Ranking Write-Up of all Time
Wayne Arnold replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks like a fair, accurate write up. What's the problem? Just because the Bills fluked their way into the playoffs doesn't mean they were the 12th best team. They were more likely somewhere between 20-25 and with good fortune they were able to win 9 games. It happens. -
Bills UDFA signings & Rookie minicamp invitees

Love the personal attacks. Keep em comin, they're great. A perfect strike down the middle of the field = treacherous Comical. -

This is an awful take. Almost as bad as the poster who compared Allen's tweets to Russ Brandon's indiscretions in the locked Russ thread. Not quite as bad, but in the same ballpark. -
My guess is that McDermott was looking for a great teacher regardless of his QB experience. If a person has the proven attributes necessary to be considered a great teacher, it really doesn't make much of a difference what the subject matter is. It's amazing the number of posters who remember me under a different user name. Yet I have no idea who they are. I must be doing something right.

...at some college named Southwestern Louisiana. How in the hell am I supposed to have faith that he can develop our project 22 year old QB into something resembling a franchise quarterback? Daboll has at least coached quarterbacks a couple of times in the current millennium...although to meh results. Not to mention is poor record as an NFL OC. We're all supposed to believe that this is all going to turn out just fine and dandy?! Talk about blind faith...

Why would we need to hire Palmer? Our QB coach is a 62 year old who hasn't coached quarterbacks since Ronald Raegan was President. Our OC has done nothing but fail as an NFL offensive coordinator in each of his three appearances. But he coached under Belichick and Saban so it's ok. Allen is in great hands, you guys!
