  1. Shaq is battling for a roster spot this summer. Could come down to him and Eddie Yarbrough.
  2. I've started one new thread in the last five months, numbnuts. And it was about our QB coach. Maybe you have me confused with someone else.
  3. Accomplishments not seen in the football program in 20 years is far from "failure". Context in this case is the entirely different circumstances from which those statistics are generated. Systems, coaches, teammates, etc.
  4. The comparison was about pure physical features. As for the game play comparison, it's not nearly as simple as SEC talent vs. SEC talent = MWC talent vs. MWC talent, considering Allen was working with mostly freshmen in 2017. As for Allen's receivers, I highly suggest you watch some of those 2017 games on Youtube, especially early on in the season. His receivers truly could not get open. Allen had to attempt passes to freshmen of limited talent who were blanketed by cornerbacks. And the OC had no idea how to scheme them open. It's criminal. That said, Allen performed extremely well in his first season in 2016 and despite having to orchestrate a terrible offense in 2017 was still able to lead Wyoming to a combined 11-3 record (.786 winning percentage) against MWC teams. The four years before Allen arrived? 2-6, 2-6, 3-5, 3-5 (.313 combined winning percentage). Who needs context? The stats are all you need!!
  5. All the evidence we need!
  6. Ugh - stats from college. Granted, Newton had one of the greatest, most celebrated college football seasons for a quarterback of all-time. But he also got to work with one of the greatest offensive football minds (Malzahn) at Auburn. Very creative, innovative offense that fit his skills perfectly. And he had SEC talent around him. Allen worked in an outdated offense with players who were barely recruited out of high school. Who's posting highlight videos? Not me.
  7. Probably none. Good thing Allen doesn't need to become "decidedly more accurate."
  8. Newton gets the edge, but the difference is not quite as vast as you make it seem.

  10. Because they are very similar from a physical/athletic standpoint.
  11. I call out tremendously bad takes - like @BADOLBILZ had yesterday. Can't help myself, I guess. I look at it like I'm doing a public service. Making people better. Got to have thick skin to keep up with the big boys.
  12. More arrogance. Or maybe just human stupidity. Thinking (a) Beane and his staff chose Allen because of gut feelings, and (b) analytics are the be-all, end-all of evaluating college quarterbacks is dumb enough to make Einstein roll in his grave.
  13. Not suspended. Just better use of my time. There is an ignore function. Bye.
  14. Doubling-down, rober? Yikes is right. Normally you're on point but you're way off on this one.
  15. 1. Hackenberg was surrounded by 4-5 star recruits during his college career 2. He was coached by two of the best in football (Bill O'Brien and James Franklin) 3. Allen is bigger, more athletic, and has better arm talent (stronger and more accurate) 4. Allen has a giant chip on his shoulder and has earned everything he's achieved, whereas Hackenberg was crowned from childhood and has been coddled and handed everything Aside from that, they're exactly the same!
  16. Here's a good example of Allen fighting his instinct to run away. Instead, he stays in the pocket, and (with proper footwork and mechanics) he's able to make a perfect throw over the middle for the first down. 2:32:07
  17. Bills training camp should be in Rochester forever.
  18. Of course Notre Dame is a powerhouse. They have top recruiting classes every year. Throwing accuracy isn't an issue for Allen.
  19. Oh no, you guys. Josh Allen is a hothead and terrible person. Unsportsmanlike conduct at the 1:36:11 mark.
  20. That's one of the biggest weaknesses I've noticed so far (I've watched 18 of his 25 games so far) - he tends to leaves the pocket too soon. Although not always, so he shows that he's capable of buying time in the pocket and making progressions. Just needs to do that more consistently. Can David Culley and Brian Daboll teach this kid to be a technician? To consistently manage a game? That's the biggest question.
  21. This statement couldn't be further from the truth. And in actuality is a great example of nerd arrogance.
