  1. Coaches don't vote for all-conference teams. That's media.
  2. Peterman can definitely run RPO's. McCarron isn't terribly immobile either.
  3. I don't care what any of these three guys did in the past. 2018 is a clean slate and the best quarterback will be the opening day starter regardless. I'm looking forward to watching the competition.
  4. Lots of people. At least 10% of this forum, based on the poll.
  5. That's the system the Wyoming coaches run with, for better or worse. These aren't offensive wizards.
  6. Allen improved greatly as a senior from a mental standpoint. Was much, much less of a gunslinger than he was in 2016. Unfortunately, his teammates got worse. It took until the second half of the season for the freshmen to reach the point where they weren't a massive hindrance. Also unfortunately, Allen injured his shoulder at exactly the wrong time - during the 10th game when the offense was starting to get hot. He had to miss the last two regular season games - and you could tell how valuable he was to the offense simply through those two games: 7 points against Fresno State, and a loss to the worst team in college football. All-conference picks are meaningless.
  7. Horrendous comparison. Just terrible.
  8. What gave it away? The examples of perfect precision passes?
  9. Every quarterback that comes into the NFL is a "project quarterback".
  10. "You don't know that for a fact." Later... "(The notion of Allen being a Top 10 pick) is simply hype from the media draft mavens; he was only a 'Top 10' pre-draft because the talking heads said he was." Um, yeah...they said Allen was a Top 10 pick and they were exactly right about that. And he's not any more of a "project quarterback" than Mayfield (spread system) or Darnold (sophomore, lots of picks) or Rosen (inconsistent play) or any other quartarback that has come out in recent history. Listen, dude - you're entitled to ignore legitimate information in order to believe whatever you want. People do it every day. I'm not going to waste anymore time on someone with such a myopic view and poor grasp of logic...and thinks Josh Allen went to North Dakota State. You do you.
  11. Where is this mystery quarterback that is great for a whole game?
  12. So inaccurate... More inaccuracy... The horror...
  13. Losman and Manuel were chosen in the first round because the Bills chose them. Otherwise both likely would have fallen into the 2nd Round or later. Allen was always a Top 10 pick throughout the process, was strongly considered to be the #1 pick by the Browns and would have been chosen in the Top 10 by another team if the Bills hadn't chosen him first. That's the difference.
  14. 99% of the "scathing" Allen reviews come from guys who have no idea what they're talking about. Like these two. Silva is demented and Sherman is a massive dork.
  15. Ouch. That hurts a lot coming from him. Rodger is a recently graduated Northwestern journalism student whose expertise is sub-par basketball on the college, pro, and intramural levels. He likes Ghostface and Left Hand Milk Stout.
  16. Just finished Allen's Air Force game, which is when he got injured. A damn shame too because the offense was just starting to get hot. The young players around him were developing nicely. The OLine was doing a better job opening holes for the run game and protecting Allen, the receivers were doing a much better job of gaining separation and making good plays on the ball. Wyoming would have won their last two games if Allen hadn't gotten hurt and finished the season 10-3 - which would have been the first 10 win season for Wyoming since 1996 and just the program's eighth double-digit win season in their 126 year history. Here's the play for whoever is curious. Allen would finish the half and start the 2nd before having to leave. Tough kid.
  17. Anyone who is "convinced" that Allen will be good or great is fooling him/herself. No one knows how a quarterback will turn out in the NFL. There are so many variables, most of which are out of the player's control. My issue is that the backlash over this kid being chosen in the Top 10 was absolutely ludicrous. If you actually watch him play at Wyoming with the understanding of his environment and how he lead his teammates despite the issues, you'd understand that he should have been the #1 pick. Doesn't mean he will be successful in the league. But there's no doubt in my mind that the only reason he wasn't chosen #1 by the Browns was because of the social media analytics warriors who bashed him day after day for four straight months. http://www.mlive.com/sports/2018/04/josh_allens_accuracy_issues_ha.html
  18. Could be wrong but I don't think Aikman ever said he watched him play. Just hopped on the "inaccuracy" bandwagon and said "I think as a quarterback when you're inaccurate, from my experience as a player in studying these guys for the last 17 years, you usually do not overcome that."
  19. No idea what the future holds but it's easy to see the awful situation Allen was put in at Wyoming, especially last season. Maybe some just can't because they're not sure what they're watching.
  20. Haha actually the Bills scout said the following... Marc Ross, Buffalo: "He's a little short. The thing you worry about is those (Jeff) Tedford guys. They don't do anything for a couple years and then they have a good year or two. Who of his quarterbacks has done what they're supposed to do? None of them. Is he just working magic with great college quarterbacks or just manufacturing guys?"
  21. Proved he could do what? Perform better in an easier situation? Isn't that just common sense? Wilson was the same quarterback with the same skillset at NC State that he was at Wisconsin. The difference wasn't him, it was his environment. If Allen transferred to, say, Oklahoma this summer instead of entering the draft, of course his 2018 stats would reflect Baker Mayfield's 2017 stats.
