  1. I haven't looked at any projections yet. Here is mine going into preseason inter-team scrimmage #3. Feel pretty confident about it at this point, although jobs can be lost/gained over these next eight days. QB - Nathan Peterman (1) AJ McCarron (4/-) / Josh Allen (R-1) RB1 - Lesean McCoy (9/3) Marcus Murphy (3/1) RB2 - Chris Ivory (8/-) Patrick Dimarco (7/1) WR1 - Kelvin Benjamin (4/1) Andre Holmes (7/1) / Raymond McCloud (R-6) WR2 - Zay Jones (1) Jeremy Kerley (7/-) / Corey Coleman (2/-) TE - Charles Clay (7/3) Khari Lee (3/1) / Jason Croom (1) LT - Dion Dawkins (1) LG - Vladimir Ducasse (8/1) Wyatt Teller (R-5) C - Ryan Groy (4/3) Russell Bodine (4/-) RG - John Miller (3) RT - Jordan Mills (4/2) Marshall Newhouse (8/-) ***************************************************************************** RDE - Jerry Hughes (8/5) Eddie Yarbrough (3/2) NT - Star Lotulelei (5/-) Rickey Hatley (1) DT - Harrison Phillips (R-3) Adolphus Washington (2) / (Kyle Williams (12) - injured) LDE - Shaq Lawson (2) Trent Murphy (4/-) / Terrence Fede (4/-) WLB - Matt Milano (1) Ramon Humber (9/2) MLB - Trumaine Edmunds (R-1) Tanner Vallejo (1) SLB - Lorenzo Alexander (13/2) Deon Lacey (5/1) CB - Tre'Davious White (1) Taron Johnson (R-4) / Levi Wallace (R-U) CB - Vontae Davis (9/-) Phillip Gaines (4/-) FS - Jordan Poyer (5/1) Rafael Bush (8/-) SS - Micah Hyde (5/1) Dean Marlowe (3/1) / Siran Neal (R-5) ***************************************************************************** K - Steven Hauschka (10/1) P - Jon Ryan (14/-) LS - Reid Ferguson (2)
  2. Jon Ryan doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. Plus he's a decade older. https://purpleptsd.com/how-good-is-your-teams-punter-all-33-nfl-punters-ranked/
  3. Hopefully if that's the case it's before he kills someone else. . This guy needs to be in an institution.
  4. Carson Wentz played at the FCS level.
  5. Rapaport and Schefter. The report was correct. The diagnosis was not.
  6. So that's three defensive ends and one worthless gimp. We'll need four. Fede has been the "best of the rest." I think he makes the team.
  7. No. That was John Hughes. Yep. All I could think was "This run defense is only a Tenny Palepoi away from domination."
  8. Me seeing the team not using the open roster spot on a quarterback -
  9. . And there's also Class of 2016 QB Brandon Doughty, Western Kentucky. He was drafted in the 7th round by the Dolphins and spent the last two years on their practice squad. Dolphins released him in April, he was claimed by the Cardinals but released a month later.
  10. A few more options... Class of 2017 Quarterbacks who are free agents. Jerod Evans out of Virginia Tech 6-3, 230, 4.8 40 Trevor Knight - Texas A&M Not much of a thrower but a great athlete. Maybe after preseason is complete we can convince him to switch positions and put him on the practice squad as a developmental wide receiver or safety project. 6-1, 220, 4.48 40 . Alec Torgersen - Penn 6-2, 220, 4.91 40 Mitch Leidner - Minnesota 6-3, 225, 4.93 40
  11. . Another - Richard Lagow, Indiana 6-5, 220
  12. Another option is Brandon Silvers out of Troy. 6-2 1/2, 220
  13. No need to give up anything. Just sign a guy off the street to play at least the entire second half in Chicago on 8/30. They're fine with just Peterman and Allen until Week 6.
  14. My vote is Riley Ferguson.
  15. I would be absolutely shocked if Andre Holmes is cut. He's a quality special teams player and has done nothing but receive reps with the first team all preseason. This group is just fine. The key is if Benjamin can step up and be a true #1 for the entire season. If not then they'll have trouble.
  16. I could see keeping O'Leary over Logan Thomas. But not Khari Lee or Croom. We'll see what happens. He had three receptions in limited time last night.
  17. I put Dupre at #8 because of the first-team reps he received in the final camp practice on Wednesday. I thought that was a good sign for him. It was good to see McCloud back on the field last night and he even made a play. But him being out all week hurt him. He can rise up the list with a good week of practice and another good game next Sunday.
  18. We're now three weeks away from the season opener. The team will probably keep six on the 53-man roster on September 1st. Although I could see them keep as few as five and as many as eight. Here's how the 13 receivers look to me if we were to rank them after preseason game #2: 1. Kelvin Benjamin 2. Zay Jones 3. Andre Holmes 4. Jeremy Kerley 5. Rod Streater 6. Kaelin Clay 7. Corey Coleman 8. Malachi Dupre 9. Raymond McCloud 10. Cam Phillips 11. Brandon Reilly 12. Austin Proehl 13. Robert Foster Big week ahead for the receivers.
  19. Are we really so desperate as to bring in the other quarterback from the historic 6-3 Browns game in 2009?
  20. I think we go with a rookie UDFA QB (or something similar). Not a high-priced FA. McCarron goes to "short-term" IR.
  21. Not only is he still on the bubble - he's still on the wrong side of it. Benefiting from a blown coverage for a 35 yard touchdown doesn't change that.
  22. Clay's contract is fully guaranteed this season. He's not going anywhere.
