Nah, I disagree. I don't think following a legend who doesn't want to retire is exactly ideal.

When you don’t have a QB/system in place that is currently capable of scoring lots of points, the only way to win is by ugly rock fights - run the ball and play defense. Obviously, the hope is that Allen develops into the next Aaron Rodgers. Some of you act as if McDermott prefers this. It’s a hand he’s been dealt and I think the league frowns upon forfeits so here we are.

As long as Derek Anderson isn’t starting the next nine games, that’s what I think. We aren’t going to see another game where the O turns it over 5 times and the defense has 0 combined takeaways and sacks. Except maybe vs. Pats - but those two games are guaranteed losses anyway. Yes, Allen has been mostly bad - as he should be as a raw rookie in this offense. But he’s significantly better than what we saw yesterday. As the game slows down for him and he gets the ball out quicker - watch out. EJ didn’t improve over time. That was his problem. In fact, he somehow got worse through the 2014 offseason after a hopeful rookie season. Which means improvement is not a guarantee. But I think it happens. Faith without evidence, I guess.

Because Allen gives this team the best chance to win due to this pure talent and potential alone. The more he plays, the better he’ll get. Team finishes with 6-7 wins unless Allen is placed on IR.

Six of these last nine games are at home. We won’t see another game with 5 turnovers and 0 takeaways and sacks.

If Allen is out that long, you may be right.

The schedule is favorable, the defense too good to lose that many, and the offense will improve as the season goes along as long as Allen gets back soon. This team will finish 6-10 at worst.

Because he was upset.

And yet, McDermott will somehow get 6-7 wins out of this horrid team by season’s end.

Our goal vs. New England should be to score more points on offense than number of interceptions Anderson throws.

B-but Allen was terrible at Wyoming! I even heard Mike Schopp say it on the radio so I know it’s true! Wyoming is currently 2-6 (0-4 in the Mountain West) and is ranked 120th in the FBS subdivision in total offense. Its a wonder why Allen didn’t effortlessly light up opposing defenses with video game numbers in such an offensive machine known as the Wyoming Cowboys football program. To go from that to this situation in Buffalo - I’m beginning to think that Josh Allen may just be the unluckiest SOB alive.

The OLine is overachieving. Significantly. Castillo should get a lot of credit for that.

However, one thing I will say, our WR's looked a little bit more like WR's in this game, including Benjamin. Is that a compliment to them stepping up or the throws our previous QB's were missing? Wide receivers played well yesterday. I don’t think Benjamin had a single drop! It would be nice if they played like that when Allen is quarterbacking.
