I don't think it's that far off tbh. The team looked completely drained on Sunday.

They were playing without emotion on Sunday. For whatever reason.
I think with:
- Von Miller and Da'quan Jones on the DLine
- Edmunds back with an extension (franchise tag?)
- Tre White back to his old self
- Hyde back
- Elam, Benford, Rousseau, Basham, Epenesa improved
Yes, I do think this is a Super Bowl caliber defense.

Christian Benford has All-Pro potential at safety. Hyde has a few years left.
I'm a huge Poyer fan but if we have to choose would rather keep Edmunds.

Dorsey is a bit of an enigma. I'm concerned that he isn't the same level of genius as these offensive wizards in the final four (Sirianni/Steichen, Shanahan, Reid, Taylor/Callahan).
Because our HC is a defensive guy, our OC needs to compete with guys like these. Based on what we saw this season, I don't see it.
At the same time, I don't think he did quite bad enough to be replaced after one year. He works hard and is extremely competitive. It's possible he improves in year 2.

There have only been 56 Super Bowl games played. Have some patience, people.

Nope, we simply got trucked by the better team and they wanted it more.
Why the hell did they want it more?
Bills have been the best team in the NFL all season and looked lethargic as hell from the get go.
Makes no sense.

Can Buffalo's defense please humble this mfer?
"The window is my whole career"
"I never feel like an underdog"
Please shut him up.

I was really bummed, at age 14. We had started 11-1 but ran out of gas and finished 12-4, we had an amazing defense and an okay offense (Kelly threw 15 TDs and 17 picks on the season) with a promising rookie named Thurman Thomas.
Recently I read a great oral history of this game from the Athletic. I learned that Bruce was absolutely unblockable until he got injured and that took a lot out of our team.
Kelly and the offense had a great drive going with around 8 minutes left and clock malfunctions messed with the momentum. The curse is real.

Hope not. I would have to like him then.

I can't believe it's been this long since a Bills vs. Bengals playoff game.
The good old days. Were you alive when this game was played? Do you remember it?

Amazing article.
Stuns me how some people can lie like that and live with themselves.
Stuns me how so many people are still surprised how evil the rich and powerful are.

Looking forward to this one. Massive game.
I understand the Bills can win the Super Bowl without a first-round bye and home field advantage. But we need all the help we can get to bring the Lombardi Trophy to Western New York for the first time. Losing this game would be a massive hit to those chances.

Exactly. Are the bills a dumpster fire now? People have plenty of personal things going on and make life decisions. It does not have to be an inditement of the browns.
Wait - are you saying the Browns are not a dumpster fire?

Need to bring Chan Gailey out of retirement as Screen Game Coordinator. That guy was a wizard when it came to screens.

That's wonderful for him. But that's the nature of the beast. Good teams don't have the room on their roster for Undrafted Pre-Season wonders in garbage time that bad teams like Carolina do.
We only ever carry 3 true RB's. Were we supposed to cut Devin Singletary for him? No. Were we going to cut James Cook months after spending a 2nd Round pick on him? No. Were we supposed to cut Zack Moss, who performed just as well, if not better in Pre-Season against better players, and had trade value for a guy like Nyheim Hines? No.
With the state of the team and roster as of late, gone are the days of Undrafted Rookies making the roster. And that's a good thing. Get used to these players making other rosters and possibly performing well.
The point was always that Beane was dumb for spending a 2nd round pick on a running back when you can get one of equal or similar value as an undrafted free agent.

The best teams are going to have multiple grind-it-out wins during the course of a season. Yesterday was one of them. Jets aren't great, but they're solid/plucky and they play extremely hard. A huge credit to Saleh and his coaching staff. Also, the weather had a lot to do with it. These players are still getting used to playing in crappy conditions. It's not easy - most of them grew up in the south.
That being said, there's plenty to criticize. Outside of Diggs, the receivers are really lacking. The OLine has had their struggles. I wish we could invest in the OLine and make it the best in the league like the Eagles but for whatever reason McDermott/Beane have not really been too dedicated to make that happen.
And yet, I'm hopeful that they can improve over the next five weeks and head into the playoffs playing their best football. I really do.
It would be one thing if they're beating the Jets at home by a single score while playing their absolute best. I don't believe that is the case. They're going to get it going at some point, and I'm optimistic that it's going to happen when it really matters: the playoffs.

So then Isiaih Hodges is not an ex bill by your standard.

You make a good point though @RoyBatty is alive. I'll modify my statement to those who are either on the 53-man roster or on the practice squad at any point during the regular season.
Howard was none of those things.

What if we get a player in pre-season and let him go/trade him before the regular season starts, I would consider him an ex bill.

He looks terrible to be honest...like one of the drug addicts you'd see on the corner in a bad neighborhood. Looks like he's 50 and he is only 34.
Said his head feels like mush and concussions had a lot to do with it, and that he would not do it all over again if he had the chance...
Wonder how many players playing now are going to be in the same boat? This can't be good for the NFL and it's long term participation rates.
More content parents are going to read and add to the reasons why little Jimmy will be playing soccer instead of football.

How do you get that "one more week"? I don't think that's correct.
I could be wrong but I thought the IR rules stated that when a player is placed on IR, after being out four games a player has a three-week window to return to the 53-man roster. Otherwise they have to be placed on season-ending IR.

The Bills were the best team in NFL through the entirety of the regular season. He's not being nominated because of his team's success?
