  1. Muhammad Ali proves otherwise.
  2. Because this documentary is not a biography of OJ Simpson. It's about why and how the event that took place on 6/13/94 became such a national phenomenon. It's amazing how some people don't get it.
  3. Stop taking everything so serious.
  4. Hahahaha. Oh man. God bless 'Murica.
  5. Funny - my wife and I asked the exact same question while watching the first episode. I think it's both. In hindsight we can see that OJ displayed many signs of sociopathy considering his lack of willingness to do anything that didn't directly benefit himself. His resistance to helping out in the civil rights movement and the reasons for it (hurting his brand, "I'm not black, I'm OJ") spoke volumes imo. As did the statements from people who worked with him regularly throughout his career stating in interviews that they couldn't figure out if there was more behind OJ than the calculated, polished cardboard cutout who was able to perfect his public persona through the 70's and 80's. Combined with that you have the fits of rage that are common among CTE sufferers. And back in the late 60's through 70's there was no concussion protocol in football whatsoever. Football was a rougher sport, lack of medical advancements, little to no knowledge of concussions, countless carries during his 11 year NFL career, etc. There is absolutely no question that OJ Simpson's brain contains an abundance of CTE.
  6. How is that relevant? Serious question.
  7. Who enjoys eating that? I don't get it.
  8. I guarantee Briles will be HC of a power conference program (likely the SEC) by the end of December.
  9. Quote of the Year: Rob Ryan: "That's not sour grapes. That's me getting pissed off. Because I am great."
  10. "I believe in being a multiple defense, an attacking defense, a physical defense. (Seattle) are a very physical defense; they play a very simple scheme and let their guys play. But I don't think that's why you hire a Ryan." He's got that right. Hence the fall from #2 in 2014 to #24 in 2015. Let dominant players be dominant? Nah, we'll over-complicate things so they're frozen in confusion as opposing offenses light us up.
  11. Poor guy is taking this claim by the Bills really hard. I can imagine that it would be devastating. God speed, young man. #prayers #staystrong
  12. RIP Baylor Football. You had a good run.
  13. Whaley works for the NFL and said "I personally believe humans shouldn't play football." When an NFL representative states something like that, it upsets people who think more should be done on the NFL's part to change the game in order to improve the safety of it as opposed to denying and covering up the truth. It's not what Whaley said that bothers people. Rather, it's the hypocrisy of it. If Whaley had said "I don't think humans should play football as it is today, and I'm devoting my life to changing the sport for the better." then people would be applauding him. But that's not what he said nor meant.
  14. That's literally what he said. You can try to spin it as much as you want. There's no missing context in the statement "I personally don't think humans are supposed to play (football)." He said what he said and it cannot be denied. Riiiiiiiiight.
  15. Has there ever been an NFL GM in the history of the league who has hit on every draft? Bill Polian was a genius when he landed Bruce, Andre, Kelly, Bennett, etc. He was a bum when he was fired from the Colts after putting together a team that picked first overall. That's just one example but there are many studies that show how much of a crapshoot the NFL Draft is.
  16. No one is "offended." Some people think his idiotic comments are comical, others are either puzzled or annoyed by them. Then others think it's indicative of his incompetence.
  17. It's not as if Whaley were vague. He LITERALLY SAID "I personally don't think humans are supposed to play (football)." An absolutely ridiculous statement for a General Manger of a National Football League team to make.
  18. Go on Twitter and you can find people like Chris Trapasso, Rob Quinn, etc. who could do exactly what Whaley does with regard to "finding talent." It's hilarious how complicated you think it is. And there are only 32 NFL GM jobs because there are only 32 NFL teams. Are you saying public speaking is not part of an NFL GM's job?
  19. If I ruled the world, football would be much different. I love so many aspects of it which is why I keep watching and supporting the NFL and Bills. But I hate the violence and adverse effects it can have on those who participate. I wish more of those in charge of the NFL and its teams would make a stronger effort to change the sport for the better. But if I truly believed that "humans are not supposed to play" football like Whaley literally stated then I couldn't in good conscience make my living off of those who do play the sport. "Embarrassed" isn't the same as "doomed." Not just "anyone." But a helluva lot more than there are number of NFL GM positions. It's far from rocket science. It's proven fact that draft results are overwhelmingly luck and very little skill, for instance.
  20. Almost anyone can replace Whaley if all his job requires him to do is "find talent." That's not at all difficult in this day and age considering the vast amount of resources available. Besides finding a quality head coach, his job description should also entail adequate public speaking skills and not embarrassing the league or organization.
  21. Verbally challenged. Even ignoring that aspect of his position - the jury is still out on whether or not he's "pretty good at his job." The longer we wait for this team to accomplish something real as we see Whaley going viral over stupid statements, the hotter Whaley's seat gets.
  22. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. There are multiple intelligences and maybe Whaley is a smart guy who is just terrible at speaking. But considering he's a General Manager of an NFL team and public speaking is part of his job, it's a really bad "look."
  23. Not at all. If he doesn't want to take heat for such a statement then he should either quit is job or do everything in his power to change the way the game is played to make it safer. Until then, making a public statement like that will go viral in a negative fashion.
