Watson is a great college quarterback. But keep in mind he's surrounded by great talent and his receivers made some incredible catches last night. Not to mention most of Watson's passing yards were a result of screen passes around the LOS - lots of YAC.

If I am wawrow I tweet "holy cow that came out fast."
An hour later tweet it was a fart.
Or

Spill it, John!

At first I wanted Lynn as the lesser of evils, but because he's still under contract and may not get any of the jobs, my best case is Richard, with Lynn kept as the OC, and maybe Bradley under Richard if that's possible. I also think that combo of Richard and Lynn means Tyrod stays.
Those moves would result in playoffs imo.

Maybe I AM actually a Whaley fan after all.
Anthony Lynn does not impress me. At all.
And McDermott reminds me of a younger Skeletor.

John sounds like a good guy & a true professional but honestly has he ever broken a story about the Bills. People on this board have more inside information about the inner workings of 1 Bills Drive than he does.
Huh? He's the only media person Terry Pegula would talk to after Whaley's press conference.
-
Wouldn't it be a bit awkward to have a fired HC reporting as DC to his former secondary coach assistant?
No. These coaches realize that's how the league works.
-
Gotta be Goodwin. He's the only candidate who's been interviewed with prior ties to Whaley.
-
He was OC in Jacksonville from '05 - '07, so yeah it's been a bit. But he wasn't good at it?
2005: 15th ranked offense, 12th in scoring
2006: 10th ranked offense, 9th in scoring
2007: 7th ranked offense, 6th in scoring
It's surprising Del Rio fired him and he never received another OC job since then.

Idk anything about his stats though i hear they're good. But i would hire this guy based on this video alone lol. Love his energy. Love his personality.
Im just going off of personality so dont mind me. I just would love to see this guy react on the sidelines when good things happen on the field.
Same here. Richard is who I want.
McDermott reminds me too much of Dick Jauron. Just a dud personality without Belichick's brilliance. A career DC who will fail as a HC, IMO.
-
Unless they want to interview someone who's unavailable until their team is eliminated.
-
In light of the people we have interviewed thus far I think I am now pulling for:
Kris Richard - HC
Carl Smith - OC
Gus Bradley - DC
Smith hasn't been an OC in ten years. And he was never very good at it.
Just keep Lynn as OC/AHC. He's earned at least that much.
I read that Carolina under McDermott has been in the top 10 on D 5 of the last 6 years and I believe he calls the plays. That by far blows away any of the other coordinators resume.
I liked Richards until I realized since Carroll has been there with 3 different coordinators they always rank very very high. So that tells me it is more Carrolll than the D coordinators.
We're not hiring a defensive coordinator. We're hiring a head coach.
-
Sounds like Sean McDermott, which I would be okay with.
What a dud that would be. Lord I hope not.

Who cares how a bunch of nobodies voted on some website!
I've never cared more about anything in my life.

Bills plan to give new head coach more power within organziation: http://es.pn/2j5CpNe
9:55 AM - 8 Jan 2017The Buffalo Bills are planning to give their new head coach more power within the organization, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Bills, who finished the season at 7-9, are seeking a replacement for Rex Ryan, who was fired on Dec. 27 after less than two seasons as Buffalo's coach.
Bills owner Terry Pegula told The Associated Press on Monday that he made "an executive decision" to fire Ryan, affirming comments made earlier in the day by GM Doug Whaley.
Whaley had denied having involvement in Ryan's firing, saying that Ryan asked to speak privately with Pegula at the end of their weekly conference call. Pegula informed Ryan during that private conversation that he would not return beyond this season, and Ryan recommended that Anthony Lynn take over as the Bills' interim coach for Week 17.
The Bills formally interviewed Lynn for the full-time head-coaching job on Thursday. They also interviewed Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin on Saturday and plan to interview Seahawks defensive coordinator Kris Richard on Sunday.
Buffalo also has reached out to Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich, a former quarterback for the Bills.
Though Pegula was planning to wait until after the season to evaluate Ryan's job, he said he probably would've come to the same conclusion.
Pegula said he based his decision on his own observations, input he has received from his front-office staff over the course of the season and on previous discussions he had with Ryan regarding the team's struggles.
"[Whaley] had input on the basis of conversations throughout the year, what the problems were,'' Pegula said. "But did Doug ever say, 'Are we firing our coach, are we keeping our coach?' We never had that conversation. I took it upon myself to tell Rex on the basis of conversations about the games and the aftermath of certain games that, hey, things aren't going well."
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

HC - Kris Richard
DC - Gus Bradley
OC - Anthony Lynn
QB - Tyrod Taylor
Draft - Jamal Adams, Safety, LSU
See you in the playoffs.
-
Ray Horton is available. Any takers?
-
I'd like Kris Richard with an experienced 4-3 DC and retaining Lynn at OC and the entire offensive staff (including Tyrod).

It's hilarious when people act as if quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers wouldn't have been great if not for the amazing coach they had (whoever it was).
Peyton was only great because he was developed by this guy...
-
Correct. Can't keep gambling with other teams leftovers. That didn't work with Fitz/RJ/TT.
7-9 to 9-7 is all the junkpile will yield.
7-9 with the 10th best offense in the league.
A rookie quarterback is not going to elevate the efficiency of the offense to the point of winning four more games. That would probably require the #1 or #2 offense. And it's laughable to think Trubisky is capable of that.

Yes, I see this as another hit on the whole organization including Whaley. When Rex floated the idea of bringing his brother in, let alone a real organization today should never allow nepotism, considering his poor defensive record someone should have had the wisdom and/or balls to say heck NO! If Whaley already didn't like the job Rex was doing he never should have allowed it. And Pegula should have been smarter than that. Honestly, how many people even on this board thought that would work out well? You don't have to be a football insider or expert to know that was a stupid idea!
I don't want our GM and owner(s) deciding who the coach should or should not put on his staff. If it doesn't work out then it's on the head coach.
-
Trade up a la Sammy and get him imo.
Just what this team needs - giving up more picks for a huge gamble.
Coach search has come (again) who is the best fit?

Coaches who speak in coach cliches (aka coachspeak) tend to think punts are a good thing.
No original thought.
That's been my observation over the years.
