  1. There was no wrong move here. It was 50/50. As many positives/negatives for choice A as there was for choice B.
  2. Happy birthday John. I appreciate what you do, even though I didn't approve of your attack on Rob Quinn.
  3. Considering it is McDermott who will basically be choosing the GM, I don't see it being a problem. Communication will be open and honest in the interviews.
  4. You really think "superior coaching" was all it took to come back? You don't think the Patriots players gained confidence watching Brady picking the Falcons defense apart? You don't think the Falcons lost confidence watching the same thing? You don't think Ryan and the Falcons offense felt added pressure with each possession in the 4th quarter? Where was this superior coaching when the Pats went down four touchdowns? Was Belichick and his staff not trying then? Interesting data, but I'm not sure I trust it. Taylor holds the ball longer than any other QB in the league. As for the other QB's, I'm sure they do have an issue with either progression speed or pocket awareness. They have other strengths that make up for it - just like Taylor does.
  5. What's the evidence that the Bills "stole the draft board from Carolina"? That's some 9/11-truther-level garbage right there.
  6. What are your thoughts on: confidence, the effect crowds can have on players' mentalities, and how mood alters performance, If you don't believe in momentum in sports then you're saying you don't believe that any of the above exist.
  7. I like Taylor but his biggest flaws are progression speed and pocket awareness. This is why he led the league in sacks last year. And those are not correctable - they're God-given.
  8. Use that money on the GM they hire.
  9. I would hope not. Would be a tremendous waste of money.
  10. Why would Russ lead the Bills GM search? We already have the candidates. Just need to interview them and try to convince one to come here.
  11. Maybe he should have stronger opinions, then. If Whaley was adamantly against hiring Rex, Rex wouldn't have been hired. It's pretty well-documented that Whaley wanted Tyrod gone. Which means It makes no sense that Lynn was Whaley's first choice for HC. Those are massive contradictions and I don't believe it. The more Whaley proved his incompetence, he more his role was minimized.
  12. Exactly. This team is desperate for help in the secondary. We have Darby (who was poor a year ago) and a rookie as starters, then Leonard Johnson as our nickel - who was graded terribly the last two seasons. We have no idea whether or not Kevon Seymour can actually play. Beggars can't be choosers.
  13. Someone easily could have chosen Peterman in the 2nd round and none of the analysts would have blinked. This is a steal regardless of how his career turns out.
  14. That was 2013, Sherlock. Here's a more recent PFF article... "In fact, Pro Football Focus is willing to call him one as one of the league's better cornerbacks." http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2015/12/5/9853700/shareece-wright-is-surprisingly-the-ravens-best-cornerback
  15. Let's pretend (just for a moment) that you know this for sure. What are some examples?
  16. Like McDermott is as sharp a coach as we have ever had. If he can perform well on game days then we may have something very special. Now as long as we can land one of the top GM candidates like Brandon Beane he gets to work with a bright and talented football executive that McDermott has a history with. Both are 100% on board with eachother, which we haven't seen here since Gailey/Nix - only this time both are under 50 and actually talented and well-versed in the modern game. Any Bills fan who isn't fired up right now has no pulse.
  17. They've done quite a few things right with the Bills (I don't follow the Sabres very closely)... 1. Refused to give in to Marrone's demands 2. Fired Rex as soon as they knew it wasn't working, rather than let it drag out 3. Hired Sean McDermott 4. Fired Whaley (better late than never) I have faith that they will hire a very good GM and this franchise will be in good hands with he and McDermott moving forward. I haven't felt this good as a Bills fan since the 1990's.
  18. This is the dumbest thing I've ever read.
  19. If what you say happens (Peterman shows promise, Cardale comes along) then Yates will be cut, obviously. Unless they keep four QB's.
  20. Maybe they're scared about what happens after Brady retires and Belichick dies of a heart attack and are trying too hard not to show it. "Doth protest too much" kind of thing.
  21. You don't think they should have fired Whaley? Seriously?
  22. It's not normal to have your head coach being the only representative at draft press conferences. They want a GM who is capable of handling himself in front of the media. If Whaley was a genius who didn't make dumb decisions, maybe they could have overlooked that aspect. So true.
  23. She wasn't the only one.
  24. What do you expect him to say? "We were lukewarm on Whaley back in January because we want our GM to be competent as a public figure and represent the Bills well and Whaley does not do that. Not to mention other poor decisions he's made over the years. But weren't totally on board with firing him quite yet. That is until McDermott knocked our socks off during his first two months on the job. We asked Sean if he knows anyone who could replace Whaley as GM and he gave us a couple of names from the Panthers. We didn't want to fire Whaley and his scouts before the draft because we didn't want to show our cards to other teams and scouting changes are always made after the draft." This is the truth but unfortunately he can't say it.
  25. For once I hope LaCanfora is right about the Bills.
