You'd still have 53 players on the roster who are thinking, "What the hell am I doing here?" Each player who is naturally competitive and enjoys the pursuit of winning would certainly care. I really doubt the Jets locker room is a great place to be right now and a breeding ground of a championship attitude. And if you really believe that "it doesn't matter what the fans think" then I'm afraid you haven't a clue.

People continue to overrate draft position with regard to landing a franchise quarterback. If we've learned anything over the decades, it's that no one can predict how a quarterback performs in the NFL. It's a complete and utter crap shoot. So be as good as you can be this season and use both first-round picks on quarterbacks even if they're only the third and fourth best in the class. Because no one really knows. Then let those two and Peterman battle it out throughout the entire 2018 offseason and preseason and pick one. If he's successful, trade the other one.

The opportunity to tank left the building when Rex was fired. You aren't going to intentionally tank a season in the first year of the head coach who you want to be here for a long time. That would leave everyone with a bad taste in their mouths - players and fans alike. I can't believe this is so hard for so many to grasp. It's obvious that this team is rebuilding (only six drafted players remain from the previous front office) while simultaneously leaving the foundation of veteran leadership (Kyle, Lorenzo, Wood, Shady, Tolbert, Dimarco, Incognito, Ducasse, etc.) who all fit the criteria of what Beane and McDermott want to establish within the organization. Since when does a team have to tank in order to rebuild? Can you honestly establish a winning culture by purposely trying to lose in Year #1?

Bills' Roster Cuts to the 53 Man Limit

It doesn't make his comments any less true. And Frazier isn't in charge of the 53 man roster. Crap happens. -

True, the Broncos first four running backs could get hurt, which could result in Jonathan Williams actually starting a game or two in December. Then you can resume your crying. Oh wait, you never stopped. -

So now we're pretending that Jonathan Williams is the Broncos starting running back? I love this forum. -

Damn. It's a cruel business. I don't think Coleman will be unemployed for too much longer, though. -
Bills Practice Squad Updates

Strong Safety Orion Stewart (Baylor) TCU head coach Gary Patterson and Stewart probably won't be having dinner anytime soon. The Baylor safety approached Patterson after the teams played in 2014, telling him he didn't appreciate the less-than-kind words he had for former teammate Ahmad Dixon the year before. Patterson stated that Stewart "sort of threatened" him, which the safety denied. Regardless, the Waco native was voted All-Big 12 honorable mention for his play that season (82 tackles, four interceptions, three pass breakups), following a successful redshirt freshman year (39 tackles, 82-yard TD after his only interception, four pass breakups). In 2015, he was suspended for one game for violating team rules and missed three other contests with injuries (64 tackles, one INT, three PBU in 10 games). Stewart was again an honorable mention pick in his senior year, finishing with 76 tackles, five for loss, five pass breakups, and a team-high six interceptions (one returned for a touchdown). STRENGTHS Could still grow into his frame with more natural addition of muscle. Possesses long arms and big hands and plus ball skills. Reliable hands will bring interceptions home when he gets his shots. Comes downhill to attack run fit before running lane explodes. Gobbled up tackles as a special teamer his first two seasons at Baylor and might be able to respond quickly in the same capacity as a pro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJOeziySy9w -
Bills Practice Squad Updates

Eric Lee. Passes the 'Character' checkbox... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xBrXCGHTHQ OT De'Ondre Wesley played for OLine coach Juan Castillo in Baltimore in 2015 and 2016 (his two seasons in the league). He was just recently cut by Baltimore. Interesting addition. -
Whaley was part of the hiring team. If he pounded on the table about choosing the coach himself or told the Pegulas that they shouldn't hire so-and-so because such-and-such, then the Pegulas would have listened.

Not true at all.

Tolbert is a better pass blocker, better run blocker, can fill in at fullback and even flashed more in the training camp practices I saw than Williams. -

Tolbert gets the vet minimum. That's overpaying? -
Bills sign DT Cedric Thornton

Underachieved in 2016 after getting a big 4-year contract from the Cowboys. Hopefully he can re-gain the form he had with the Eagles. -

They had to cut someone to be at 53. Couldn't release Yates while he was in concussion protocol. They had no intention of going into Sunday without Anderson. -

That's not the lesson. Try again, Bobby.
