The issue with Dorsey is he needs to adapt to his QB being unprepared for what he was hoping for him to do this season.

Dorsey is calling the offense more like he has savvy veteran at QB and Allen just isn't at that level in the mental aspect of the game, unfortunately.

A lot of the play calling that people are complaining about is on Allen because of bad pre and post snap decisions.    But, IMO,  Dorsey needs to acknowledge that and adjust to do his job better.

    Why not?

I can count 258,000,000 reasons why Allen is the one who needs to adjust and do his job better.

Again behind a pay wall, so no link.

His analysis for the Pats game was pretty simple.  The Pats had a brilliant defensive game plan that had Allen off schedule most of the game.  Pats would consistently rush 5 or 6, and then play a soft zone behind to take away hot crossing routes. As they fell behind, it got worse as Allen failed to take some easy plays in an effort to get bigger--ultimately failed-- plays. And he got flustered by lots of hits.

Notwithstanding all that, the Bills were still able to take the lead with less than 2 minutes left, when there was an utter fail by the Bills defense.  On the first Pats play on their final drive, he shows that the lineman down field penalty/non- penalty was a close call, as Andrews was around a yard plus downfield.  Over a yard is a penalty, but that seems to be why they picked up the flag.

Bottom line is that the Pats defensive scheme was the main driver here.  It was not the O-line as much as the scheme that left more pass rushers than blockers.  Combined with a failure to be able to run consistently and losing the turnover battle, pretty much a recipe for a loss on the road.

Not much to say here except the Bills offense has to have its stuff together early, particularly on the offensive side mentally.  It is confounding, but the Bills need to right the ship, and in a hurry.

Belichick is still the goat. I don't care what anyone says.

That said, Allen should be far beyond "failing to take easy plays to get bigger plays" at this point. He's been quarterbacking in the NFL for more than five seasons now. Dude needs to grow up.

  3. I spent last week blaming Beane and the receivers for the offense's problems.

But I might change my mindset. The most paid person in the organization (by far) is Josh Allen.

The buck stops with him. He has to make the receivers better. Hell, I'm sure he's a big reason why Davis was voted captain this year. He even has to make Dorsey and McDermott look better than they are because he's the quarter billion dollar man - not them.

I'm putting it on Josh from this point forward. Aside from games 2-4, he's played poorly. He has to step his game up.

    The defense is a problem.

Matt Milano, Tre White, and Daquan Jones are no longer walking through the tunnel and onto the field.

Bills paid one of their players on offense a quarter of a billion dollars for a reason. That comes with the expectation that the offense has to be the strength of the team. Especially when the most valuable defensive players go down.

    Time to outscore teams.

We have a bunch of pie in the sky fans around here.  Not the kind I’d want in the locker room if they were players.  What a bunch of delusional losers.  I want realists.  Not the everything is fine, nothing to see here, let’s give the benefit of the doubt despite facts to the contrary.

One game back with 10 to go and the most vocal and emotional Bills fans think the world ended yesterday. Soft af.

  6. What the offense did well: James Cook is a stud, Kincaid made plays, Diggs is one of the best

What the offense did not do well: Protection up front, key drops by Knox, Allen missed on some throws especially deep, stopped using Cook in the 2nd half, we have no NFL receivers aside from Diggs, too much shotgun

Defense - Not enough pressure on Jones, Miller is not there yet, Dorian Williams got benched, unit fell apart at the very end

Basically Pats beat us up in the trenches. That was a big factor in the outcome. Mac Jones played extremely well, hats off to him.

Patriots aren't a terrible team and absolutely needed a win.

  7. We're about to see how good or bad Sean McDermott is as a head football coach for the next 2+ months.

If he's never been very good, he's going to lose control of the team and this season is going to go off the rails.

If he's the real deal, then this team is going to turn it around and make the playoffs and maybe even a run.

It's never been set up so perfectly. Buckle up, folks.

I’d love to hear what the optimists have to say after today’s “performance”.  Allen is still the GOAT?  The coaching is still solid?  Is the team still jet lagged?  Will they be jet lagged for the rest of the decade?  Newsflash to the Bills..  Brady is no longer on the Patriots.  You should be able to beat them handily.  Abysmal.

This may not be the Brady Dynasty Patriots but they're still coached by the greatest and needed to win this game. Bills are still reeling from losing their four best players on defense and the offense is out of sync. It's not that serious.
