  1. Another outing like Sunday and it will get interesting. I'm on the record - Peterman will be starting as soon as November 12th vs. the Saints. If not then, it won't be until December 10th vs. Colts. But I fully expect it to happen on one of those two days. I'll agree with that.
  2. It's like talking to a brick wall with you people.
  3. In 2014 Kubiak and Dennison improved the Ravens offense from 30th to 9th in efficiency. The last two seasons they've worked with a disabled Peyton, Brock Osweiler and some guy named Trevor Siemian. Rex sucked because he was incapable of adapting. Maybe Dennison is too but there's no way of knowing that yet.
  4. He can't see over the line - It's a problem but Russ Wilson is 2.5 inches shorter so it's doable He can't see the whole field - He has slow progression speed, if that's what you mean He can't read defenses - No, I think he can read defenses just fine He can't get rid of the ball on time - Sometimes he can, but not often enough. He can't throw with accuracy - This is false. His accuracy is fine. He can't "lead receivers" - False He can't make decisions - Be more specific He can't throw over the middle - He's improved on that this season, which is nice
  5. By "college offense" I just mean an offense that uses the read-option play on a consistent basis and doesn't require the quarterback to make all of his reads throughout the entire field before he scrambles and runs. See: 2015 and 2016 Buffalo Bills. I'm not literally talking Rich Rodriguez's run-option system or Mike Leach's Air Raid here. If it were solely up to Dennison and 2017 was declared to be the last NFL season ever then I'm sure Dennison would design play after play for Taylor to run all over the field. Firing Dennison would accomplish absolutely nothing. What do I like about the Shanahan/Kubiak/Dennison offense if we had a Top 10 passing QB? Well, I like that it's a proven commodity.
  6. Taylor is "average" in a run-oriented (heavily read-option) offensive system. He's very below average in a normal NFL offensive system.
  7. It's Tyrod's fault for not getting the ball out after having plenty of time in the pocket. If after attempting a pass to a receiver that receiver can't make a play on the well-thrown ball, that's on the receiver.
  8. That's a legitimate question. And in my opinion the answer is because the current coaching staff and front office collectively do not believe that an NFL team cannot sustain a productive offense year after year with a college-style QB-mobile offense. If you can't sustain it for the long-term, then why would you implement it in Year 1? Players say that every year about the previous scheme. 49ers players and fans said it about Greg Roman. Every coach gets fired. It doesn't mean much to me. I didn't hear Flacco complaining about the system when he had his best season in it in 2014.
  9. Oh, look at that. But I thought the OLine was terrible at pass blocking and putting a rookie behind that line would be a disaster?
  10. Slight modification. Bills make the playoffs without ever making a change at starting quarterback vs. Bills don't make the playoffs at all OR make the playoffs after a change at starting QB I have no clue what to bet.
  11. Actually calling the run game 'mediocre' right now is being very kind. It's actually not a different topic at all. If Lynn had somehow stayed and Beane and McDermott told him in July that there can be no read-option and Taylor must read the whole field before scrambling, how do you think the run game would be faring right now? Considering Glenn's injuries and the injuries to Matthews and Clay. You don't think they would still be struggling? What's your problem with this system? It has worked in this league for years. No one is saying the drop is a good thing.
  12. Not according to the current coaching staff.
  13. It's not fitting square pegs into round holes. It's for the long-term benefit of the organization. The Whaley/Marrone/Rex days of sacrificing the future in order to win now now now are over. Stop what? Rational and logical thinking? This front office didn't sign Shady. They don't want a running back at Quarterback. They want a quarterback who can pass the ball. Do you still think Rex is head coach? This is an odd post.
  14. Based on an obviously premeditated organizational decision to develop Taylor into a pocket passing NFL quarterback as opposed to a running back who takes snaps from center. The elimination of the read-option and any designed QB running plays combined with Taylor making multiple progressions as opposed to one-or-two-reads-then-run has made it much more difficult to run the ball. This is bad for the short-term but long-term it's going to show whether or not Taylor is worth investing in as the franchise starting QB for longer than a season or two. This team wasn't "built to run." It has to run out of necessity because the quarterback's record when attempting over 30 passes is abysmal.
  15. I call BS. Although I would love to see them both traded.
  16. No rational person thinks Peterman is going to "light it up".
  17. Sure, let's bet. They're winning because of defense and turnovers. The coaches are giving him the opportunity to be an NFL quarterback and so far he's failing the test. Let's see how the next three games go.
  18. If McDermott had kept Anthony Lynn and the Greg Roman offense we would still be having the same issues right now.
  19. My standard is don't hold onto the ball and get sacked on the first play of the final drive where you need a touchdown. Taylor failed to meet that standard on Sunday.
  20. Can someone post some evidence of this? I don't know how I missed these drops but I did and I'd like to see them.
  21. You don't think there's a middle ground between effusive praise and "he really sucks"? I mean...come on. Peterman will be starting by December 10th at the very latest and as early as November 12th. We're not talking one game here. Taylor's fatal flaws have been on display for more than two years now.
  22. TT is not a good fit for any O that requires passing.
  23. Our General Manager would disagree with this statement. "You know what, I wasn't here technically when he was picked," Beane said. "I did follow him. We thought well of him scouting him in Carolina. When I got here, he is better than I expected. The one thing you try to investigate and we only did so much research there, so I didn't know all the intangibles. This guy has the moxie, the pocket presence, the leadership. You see him talk to veteran players, young players, guys of different ranks. Everything. He seems to be natural. They seem to attract. That's what you're looking for in leaders and we know how important the quarterback position is and he's got a lot of that."
