  1. Who do think was one of the CRA's "enforcers"? Banks issuing credit to people who deserve it? On what basis?

So let me get this straight. The community organizer somehow works as an "enforcer" for the CRA and forces banks to make risky bets on the sub-prime market with his "love juice"?

And you think I'm the one that's delusional?

  2. And yet you still think that was an accidental misuse rather than a parting shot. Fine work.

Sorry for the mix-up, aspiring sociology student. Gave you too much credit there for a moment. Thanks for clearing that up.

Given the general lack of thought that goes into most of your posts I could deduce that being able to pour yourself a cup of coffee is one hell of an achievement for you.

Aw, give him a break. As a "project" there is some hope for him. Afterall, he did learn to spell "attain".

So you spent a page-and-a-half frothing over a typo. Very mature.

So you have an issues with me calling you a psychologist but not a touchy-feely liberal?

You're assuming I think liberal is something I should be ashamed of.

  3. Had you bothered to crack a text book or even copied and pasted the definition from wikipediathen you might not have offered the most worthless definition of psychological projection ever recorded in the English language. Open that DSM and regurgitate something useful aspiring psych student, its not that hard. Or you could just drop that act all together as I, and I'm pretty sure everyone else at PPP, are already very familiar with the term.

You continue to assume that you have a monopoly on everyday words and concepts. If you had any ready comprehension skills whatsoever you'd see that the elementary factoids and opinions you express are already clearly understood. Instead you jump in to the middle of a discussion regarding the causality of job creation to clear up the differences between attain and procure, as if there was any confusion to begin with. Not only do you attempt to condescend to individuals who are clearly more intelligent than yourself, but you can't even do it competently as your "lessons" are rife with typos and demonstrate only the most superficial understanding.

Do yourself a favor and go back to page 2. You totally miss the boat with your first post, sprinkle in a kindergarten explanation of the agg demand model for reasons which are inexplicable given the context of the thread, totally whiff again on my sarcastic reply, admit you know nothing about basic economic theory, again whiff on sarcasm, then you prove that you have no idea what attain and obtain mean*, all in order to demonstrate for a second time that you have no idea what DC Tom was getting at and no clue about causality.

I think I'll go attain another cup of coffee, idiot.

    *at·tain/əˈtān/

    Verb:

Succeed in achieving (something that one desires and has worked for): "he attained the rank of admiral".

Reach (a specified age, size, or amount): "dolphins can attain remarkable speeds in water".

    ob·tain/əbˈtān/

    Verb:

Get, acquire, or secure (something): "an opportunity to obtain advanced degrees".

Be prevalent, customary, or established: "the price of silver fell to that obtaining elsewhere".

I'm not quite sure why you need to hijack this thread into pissing contest on who has the better grasp on the english langage. For somon hu seams to be such a champion of reading comprehenshun I find it disterbing that you didnt evn notis i am not an aspirering sike student.

I make no claim to have anything other than a rudimentary grasp on the english langwaj. I don't no what dikshunary you r using but here is what I found in two diferant ones.

Synonyms: acquire, bag, bring in, capture, carry, come by, draw, gain, garner, get, knock down, land, make, obtain, procure, pull down, realize, reap, secure, win

I even threw some mis-spelled words in there to make you feal beder.

My spelling is not the best, and I make as many typos as any other poster. This is a message board, not a sientiphik paper. However, when someone thinks the word procure means create I beleve it may need some cleering up.

You also mite want to hold off on attaining that other cup of cofy,(especially if it's what's causing you to post this incessant drivel) since by the deffanishuns that you posted posted, you would be obtaining another cup of cofy.

Not to menshon that I did copy and paste the link from wikapedia. Are you feeling OK?

I'll let you guys get back to the circle jerk now.

  4. I normally don't like to post blogs to start a topic. Though this is my fist OP on these boards. But this one caught my eye and I thought it would be a good topic for us to discuss.

As far as I am concernd, more power to them. The more variety we have in food selection the better. The idea of Monsanto having a monopoly on what we are allowed to eat is a little disturbing. Wouldn't you agree?

    http://www.growswitch.com/blog/2011/07/270000-organic-farmers-sue-monsanto/

  5. You are delusional. You need to spit and rinse. The only difference between Kool-Aid and the community organizer's love juice is the color and consistancy.

What does the community organizer have to do with banks issuing credit to people who deserve it but are lumped into a larger group of those who don't. I think if you found yourself in this situation you might want something like the CRM.

  6. So, I guess that you would be for regulation that actually caused deregulation, like the CRA?

The CRA was enacted to protect consumers in certain geographic areas that were being lumped together and denied access to credit, including business loans, based on their neighborhood, not their own credit. CRA does not require quotas to be met nor forces banks and thrifts to make high-risk loans. In fact, CRA wording specifically cautions against it.

This did not force the banks to lend money to the sub prime market. They did this on their own.

  7. Very, very well stated DCT,

This liberal mindset (rather than conspiracy) that is prominent in all our "mainstream" outlets, is what I was referring to in the (Splicers) thread.

Bigfatbillsfan tried (and failed) to refute this by a "scorecard" defense, trotting out the isolated cases of Spitzer and Weiner, as if this equates with the daily bias that we see.

    .

    Typical gibberish from you.

The majority of Americans are Conservative, this has been shown in polling time and time again. (see Fox News and its #1 ranking)

The Left-leaning members of the Times/Post/ Alphabet networks editorial boards daily decide what THEY THINK the people need to know,

too bad for them their time has passed, and the "new" media has supplanted them.

    .

    Scorecard argument doesn't work huh?

  8. Well, I could point out that jumping from Kepler to Drake's equation to the atom bomb as a justification for politics supreme is, at best, utterly insane. But I'd much rather start with the unbelievably insipid "observation" that the creation of the atomic bomb caused the Cuban Missile Crisis, which was only solved by politics. :wallbash:

I don't understand how you read nonsense like that and think it's somehow "interesting". Do you even have a brain? Do you keep it sitting in a jar on your nightstand or something?

That's what you got out of this article?

  9. Wow. After TWO DAYS of denying I ever said anything constructive, you finally go ahead and respond to what you claim I didn't say, by restating it. "Communism is communal ownership." "Communism and socialism are different." "Socialism is government control of the means of economic output and distribution." Which you say is too narrow as a book definition when, if anything, it's overly broad ("means of economic output and distribution" covers a wide variety of things, from the resource rationing and allocation and central economic planning of Nazi Germany to the "taxation and redistribution" welfare practices of '60s Britain).

And then you, somehow, go and claim that parks and law enforcement are socialist.

Absolutely stunning. Simultaneously master of the obvious AND spectacularly, hilariously wrong.

    Dear God, You. Are. Hopeless.

  10. Would anyone else get away with this without an uproar in the media?

The answer is yes................anyone with a "D" after their name.

The doublestandard that officeholders(of different parties) are held to is simply beyond debate. When the media tries to blow it off by claiming "there is no liberal media conspiracy" They are just trying to divert attention from the well documented left mindset that dominates their newsrooms and editors.

and as far as Mr Obama's golfing................frankly the more he is on the links, the better off the country is.

It sure is! That's why Eliot Spitzer is still Gov. of NY and Anthony Weiner is still in congress!!

    .

  11. You do realize that this year ends in twos day you double nitwit.

And by allocated do you mean that it was set aside on January 1st 2011 specifically for dead people?? You're a triple nitwit. And a fat one at that.

The current fiscal year ends September 30th 2012. The end of civilization as we know takes place on either Dec. 21st or 22nd 2012. You might be thinking of the calender year.

His parent's taxes should be increased and he should have to pay taxes on the $50 a week he is made to pay for living in their basement. If they didn't give him $100 a week in allowance he would have a problem.

I'm married with 3 daughters, have a great job that pays well and good benefits, and I own my own home. To top things off I have a hot wife. Life's been good to me so far.

  12. So, you're ok with that? In addition, I don't think I want to pay taxes for people to count trees. Do you, really?

No I'm not OK with that. My point with that was that we could spend some time figuring out who the dead people are, and spend some the money allocated to them investigating and prosecuting the people collecting it. Do you have a problem with that?

Second. If counting trees has an applicable purpose, such as prevention of fire load buildup, then yes I'm fine with spending tax money to count trees.

  13. With the assumption that a certain general bias does exist (not so much the vast conspiracy that some imagine, but a liberal bent nonetheless), what do you suppose is its impetus? What benefit does the media, news organizations in particular, gain from skewing information to the left?

I've really no opinion of my own, so I'm not trying to drive home a point...just curious as to your opinions.

I don't think there is so much as a liberal media bias so much as just news bias in general. Most newspaper organizations have been bought over by other corporations thought the last 20 or so years and will display bias toward the agenda of the parent corporation. The agenda is usually getting people to watch, listen, or read so they can sell advertising and make money. So mainly they are picking a demographic, telling them what they want to hear.

The reporting also tends to display the bias of the person writing the story. If the majority of the AP tends to have liberal tendencies so will the stories they produce.

    Just MHO

  14. Maybe the gaming industry should pay for that.

It's for lining the pockets of someone that wanted to count trees

Take a small portion of what money? It's gone you nitwit.

I'm sure there is an allocated amount of money this year that will end up being payed out to dead people.

I have no problem with allocating money to causes that will increase the public welfare. Whether that be designing games or counting trees. You can't tell me it's about lining the pockets of someone who wants to count trees without knowing all the information on the project.

  15. Horseshit.

Really? Over 20 percent of all Americans depend COMPLETELY on social assistance for their "living". That number is on the upswing and is poised to explode when the baby boomers start "retiring" over the next few years.

Only an idiot would try to pass that off as a positive. There hasn't been a less qualified person to represent a party for the office, much less actually "win" the seat.

Which should be expected given the teeny differences between the retards in the Democratic party and the retards in the Republican party.

The more the government has gotten "involved" in trying to maintain "balance", the more out of balance everything has become.

So are you saying the retirees who spent 40+ years paying into the system are like parasites holding their hands out to the government for a check every month? Would you rather people be forced to work up until the day they die? I would much rather spend a few of my sunset years enjoying some rest and peace of mind before I die.

Obama is far from the less qualified person to represent a party for the office. He's not the best. Not to mention I didn't state it as a positive. I just stated a fact. He wouldn't have had a chance at the office if 30 years of poor financial policy and deregulation of the marketplace hadn't crashed the economy.

  16. You have to be kidding me. The Great Divider and Class Warfare Specialist caters to people just like the one below.

    youtube.com/watch?v=P36x8rTb3jI

This is really your answer to Larry's post? It doesn't even address his point. Class warfare is nothing but a made up phrase for the blowback from the middle class. You'll see this in most societies when the divide between the rich and poor start to reach the tipping point.

The woman in the above video is an idiot and I'm sure she got a rude awakening.

Go back and read the definition over and see if you can understand what was being said this time. Who again are the "non-producers"? They are not the ones spending all their money and borrowing, etc. The "non-producers" are the ones living off the rest and helping to vote the least capable into office.

Exactly what percentage of the population is living off the rest of us? I think you greatly overestimate it. Obama was voted in by both a popular and electoral majority. Most of whom are producers that are slowly losing their ability to produce in an economy where the deck has been stacked against them.

Ineptocrasy is also a made up word. Much like atain.

  17. While I agree that some of these are a waste of taxpayer money and I give Sen. Coburn props for bringing it up you have to track each of those examples back on an individual level to get a better perspective of whether or not it's waste.

For instance, studying the ways in which games are helping people learn, play, and connect with each other may be a good investment for designing games that help us problem solve.

What is the reason for the tree census? What are they planning to use the information for?

As far as 120 million being payed out to dead people, perhaps they should take just a small portion of that money and use it to fund an investigation into who's getting rich off the taxpayer dime.

  18. Read more: http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/news/local/111228-local-activists-call-for-air-jordan-changes#ixzz1hxKQHVy8

There are numerous underlying issues here outside of price that are of concern...

Seriously, $200 for shoes? I can't even the margins on those... I'll be they cost $5 pesos to make...

But if they have such a problem with the markup for point of sale perhaps they should shine a light on the fact that it's extreme. If Jordan and Nike want to look like d-bags for the markup that's their thing. Nike can charge whatever they want for them. You don't have to buy them if you don't want to.

  19. If he's such a master of the obvious, why did he accuse me of not being able to define socialism immediately after I provided the book definition of socialism?

But he's not an idiot. I'm just projecting.

Your book definition of socialism is narrow and extremely to the far left of the spectrum. The full definition and spectrum of it is too broad to pin down in just a few words. It can vary from collecting taxes from citizens and turning them back to the citizens in the form of a service to communal ownership of property or a service. Examples of this could be your local police department or a public park. Even in the farther left spectrum it still leaves room for the free market where wealth tends to end up in the hands of people who work hard and take risk. Take a vacation to some of the more socialistic nations in western Europe and you'll still see a wide range wealth distribution.

Once you get into communal ownership of everything including the means of production is when you start to make the move into communism. Communism also denies the market and seeks to forcibly suppress emergent systems tied to supply and demand. That's why it doesn't work. The market just is. It's like the laws of physics. Denying it is a revolt against reality. Communism can be considered a type of socialism thus why you might find that definition in a book. However they really are not the same thing.

  20. Wow, looks like you guys have had quite the circle jerk in here in the last 18 hours. I almost hate to have to post in here and break it up.

Oh so it all makes sense now. So you're one of those touchy-feely liberal psychologists aren't you?

My degree is in sociology. There is quite a bit of psychology in sociology though I don't think you need a degree in psychology to know what's going on here. I am currently working on my masters in sociology.

I've never encountered a human being with such mastery of the obvious. Projection is projecting?? Really?? Way to use the underlying word in the definition. Can't wait for your next lesson.

Def: Cat - an animal that is a cat.

    1.

    a projecting or protruding part.

    2.

the state or fact of jutting out or protruding.

    3.

a causing to jut or protrude.

    4.

the act, process, or result of projecting.

This is from a dictionary. I was speaking of psychological projection. Not to mention you can use the root word in the definition of one of it's sub-categories. I thought that placing the word project in quotation marks might tip you off to this fact.

Perhaps if you could procure, which means to get through the process of procurement, a steady job, you could then afford to obtain a dictionary, which is a resource containing words and their corresponding definitions, and through which atain vast, which means great, big, or large, knowledge like bigfatbills. Also, water is a wet substance with the properties of water.

See my above post. If you had bothered to attain a dictionary yourself and look up the word projection before you posted this you wouldn't look like such an ass. I do have a steady job by the way. considering you guys seem to be able to post all hours of the day I could deduce that you may not.

You can also read a little more about psychological projection here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_projection

Now is there any other information you need spoon-fed to you?

  21. I don't remember Conner being this angry. This stupid, yes but not as angry.

I'm not quite sure where you're getting angry. There could be some projection going on here. (that's where you "project" your own feelings onto another person to help you deal with them. Anger is usually the most common, guilt is a close second)

Or perhaps you are under the impression that pressing the "stupid" button works. (pressing a button is where you do something to try to manipulate the feelings or behavior of another person for your own amusement or to feel powerful.) An example of this might be when my 4 year old pokes my 2 year old in the back seat of the car for no other purpose than to piss her off. My 9 year old seems to have outgrown this phase of her development. You may want to try some therapy to see what caused you to get hung up here.
