Selective memory. I've seen plenty of recent photos on the news the last few days. Am I supposed to accept that his level of aggression has been firmly established?? I don't think so.

I want to be so done with this case. But, I can already tell Zimmerman is going to get off scott-free and not facing any repercussions for killing a young man who happened to look "suspicious" while walking to get snacks. We can argue as much as we want about this case. But the facts are this: Trayvon was going to and returning from a store that day. He was never intending to rob anyone or "attack" anyone. Zimmerman got over-aggressive in his neighborhood watch and somebody died. Sad to see.

Wanting justice for the murder of a 17 year old kid is agenda driven and just stupid. You're really upset bro!
-
This is just sad. I feel bad for you man.

Agree with this completely.

Listen to the tapes. I hate nothing more than people complaining about Al Sharpton...sigh.

Because it's pretty hard to be in imminent danger when you are that much bigger than someone and have a gun.

At the end of the day this is what happened: A kid wanted some candy during the NBA All-Star halftime. He went out and got it and then was chased down and killed by a man over 100 pounds bigger with a gun. Trayvon had no chance. The last person to talk to Trayvon, while he was being followed: http://gma.yahoo.com/trayvon-martin-killing-friend-phone-teen-death-recounts-063243901--abc-news.html

Has anyone been keeping up with this story? What a failure of the justice system! How this man hasn't been arrested for murder is beyond me. Details: Some Background 911 Calls Kid was found carrying.....a bag of Skittles and an Iced Tea.

Obama has polled pretty well against Romney in most states. I think he holds on to Pennsylvania for sure. I don't think Michigan likes Romney too much for all of his comments. Ohio may be a little tougher. Florida is also in play. Should be a good race, but I just don't think Romney can rally enough support. I don't think anybody likes Alec Baldwin. He is not funny and is an !@#$ in real life.

Would a Higher Top Tax Rate Raise Revenues?

Awesome post man. I will get back to this with a real response. Glued to the Sabres game right now! Haha -
Honest opinion: Do you think the Republicans can win the White House this year? I don't see it personally. I see Obama winning against Romney by a fairly close margin. Blowout if it's Santorum.

I am working a real job right now. That's was in college. The "good Americans" don't like to see people making money through "gambling". Haha. Playing poker for a living isn't easy or anything though... “The gambling known as business looks with austere disfavor upon the business known as gambling.” -
B-man whats up buddy?! Haha. I was just pointing that the video is well made and great political stuff. Doesn't matter whether I agree with it all or not. (Which I don't)

By the looks of things here, it seems there aren't many Obama fans. But, speaking from a purely politics point of view I thought his new campaign video is top notch. Great job on pointing out his achievements. You may not like his policies, but the guy can campaign better then the rest. I don't see him losing in November. Here is the video: It is sort of long, so I doubt many of you even sit through it. Haha

Our jerseys are great the way they are. I do hope we get a 3rd jersey with the red helmet. 90's throwback would be pretty cool, although I always preferred the 90's white jerseys more than the blue.

That's half of the fun for me. One the reasons I loved Economics so much. So many different views, theories, and perspectives. At my school, I had professors from all different schools of thought. The head of my Senior Seminar was actually a Marxist but was really cool and didn't just tell us that he was right. Very open-minded. -

Thanks for the tips man. I really do enjoy finance and had a great time learning all about it while in school. I am still reading a lot after graduating and looking into different areas of where I want to get into. This day in age, everything is about doing things yourself. Can't rely on anyone else or any company. That's the way I look at it. I think the Bush tax cuts in 2001 were fine and I'm the stupid liberal Keynesian. Haha. It was more the two wars and the CONTINUATION of tax cuts that I had a problem with. The economy was pretty good under Bush for 5 of the 8 years. The problem was that the cuts/spending had a long lasting effect. Rates should have returned to Clinton levels when the economy was better again. Never happened. -

Because as incomes rise and people are put back to work, they will pay more in different taxes. With so many being unemployed, there were much less people paying. You can't pay income tax if you have no income. I'm sure it will return to that magic number of 18.5% but we'll see. This is a much different kind of economic time with technology continuing to improve and less jobs being available. Economic growth is the key to raising more revenue. I think we can all agree on that. -

Oh I know. My degree was Economics concentrating in Finance and it's basically getting me nowhere so far. But, I'm continuing the grind. It just sucks because I like econ/finance so much but so hard for me to get a job dealing with it. I blame my lack of "real" work experience. I played poker in college as a job. -
No, actually I don't even read his blog. I have read some in the past but not regularly. I prefer the Economix blog on the NYT website. Very diverse view there.

Some may be saying that but wanted to point out that is not what I believe. I am pretty much with you. Once we get the economy moving again, people will be back paying taxes. The hard part is actually getting the economy to that point though. -

I believe it all taxes combined. Have to double check though. On the BEA website now. I'm in the real world and I write about it (rarely now). I pay taxes every day of my life. I don't have to pay a certain amount to understand how they work. Thanks for the advice though. Views change as you get older. It's already happened to me a bit. The rise in spending is a blip on the radar too. Why can't it go both ways? Actually the decrease in revenues was a much bigger deal than the rise in spending. See: Govt Expenditures vs. Govt Receipts -

So standard. I write about a lot of different things - life, economics, politics, sports, etc. You're so mad though...why?? And I'm not telling anyone how things should be run. I am giving an opinion. You sound old and bitter. -

He may have a little. But, I still think he drives home his point though. The view that cutting taxes will also raise revenues short term or long term just isn't true. Some politicians, commentators, and even economists believe that cutting taxes is basically a solution to everything. I don't even think taxes should be raised yet. Although, I wouldn't object to raising the tax on wealthy. (GASP!) It wouldn't affect them too much and it does raise revenues.
