  1. His accuracy is crazy good.
  2. Lmao. ? buddy
  3. http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/using-name-or-likeness-another
  4. I think his conservative approach is to hide deficiency and limit mistakes.
  5. I agree. This is simply a tune up game just to keep preparations and the week to week grind well lubricated. We don't want a stale out of sync performance next week because of a "bye" week.
  6. How the hell did I misrepresent a stat line??? It is what it is. I didn't condemn Allens performance at all, I simply stated Jones "shredded" it. Someone made the comment it was against Washington. So, as you point out it is one of Allens better performances, and Jones faced the same team. I posted the stat line. You made up an assumption, I did not. I could care less how you try to downplay Jones' performance. His 5td 300+ performance speaks for itself. The rest of your coulda, shoulda, woulda conjecture is meaningless. Ill say it again. Im looking forward to Allen next year and if we are still having these same discussions in year 3, it's time to really re-examine the Qb position. Bottom of the league in passing for two straight years is not where we want to be, and in year 3 with a top 10 franchise Qb, you shouldn't be.
  7. Imo, we are probably in a similar situation as we are now. You never want a team that is polarized. Having a ridiculously good offense and a horrendous defense kind of puts you in the same position we are in now. Instead of praying for 3 and outs or a turn over, we'd be praying for Tds, big runs and catches. We would be focused on clock control and management to keep our own defense off the field and limit the opposing teams opportunities by using our offense as the first line of defense. The only advantage I can see is the league is designed to benefit the offense, so because of that, id say we get 2 more wins than what we have right now. 12-3. If we had a competent offense with what we have already on defense, Im thinking we may have only 1-2 losses this whole season. At this point, 13-2 or better.
  8. And Allen was 160 with 1td and a 110 qbr against the same team at Home. Jones was 352 with 5tds and a 132 qbr on the road.
  9. Here's what drives me nuts. Jones has put on multiple passing clinics this year. He just threw for over 300 and 5tds in his 11th start. In all honesty that is the kind of performance you expect from a franchise guy taken in the top 10. If you really want to compare apples to apples compare their rookie seasons. Jones has already displayed the capability to take over games multiple times. That is very impressive from a rookie. I don't think people really understand what I mean about accuracy. Its more than just his percentage. Its ball placement, throwing receivers open and making anticipatory throws before recievers come out of their breaks. There have been tons of completions that have been made by guys jumping in the dirt, through the air, etc. Does he make some beautiful throws? Absolutely. But they aren't consistent throws. He has a huge arm and relies on it too much. Break down his passes. He waits too long when throwing into tight windows instead of relying on anticipation of where that guy is going to be then delivering. Could he develop that? Sure. But I haven't seen much of it. Where I think he's improved the most is actually reading defenses and knowing where to go with the ball. I think that is his greatest improvement from last year. He just cant connect on those throws on a consistent basis. I actually think people underrate his ability to recognize what he's looking at and where to attack, he's slow through his reads at times but is definitely seeing the field better than last year. It is what it is this year. He's made some growth for sure, but not in the area's I felt were most important....accuracy and consistency. Im also still left wanting a big game from him. An arrival. A statement game to silence critics and doubters. A big 300+ yard game with multiple TDs where he simply puts on a passing clinic and gets in a "zone." Next year is next year. Year 3. If we are having these same arguments this time next year I think its safe to say he's not a franchise guy and most likely has reached his ceiling. I have no doubt they will surround him with even more support than he had this year. It's a make it or break it year next year imo.
  10. 4 - 300+ yard games 23 PASSING Tds 2700+ passing yards 62.1 completion percentage 88.9 Qbr In 11 starts... Better than Allen in practically every single statistical category and he's a Rookie on a horrible team. Id call that shredding it.
  11. Agree. Like I've stated previously I believe he's 25% pure magic and 75% leaving much to be desired. I love his personality, work ethic, grit and mentality, im just not even close to being sold on his franchise status. I expect more from a guy drafted 7th and crowned a franchise guy. His accuracy terrifies me. Too many times this year I've watched guys running wide open only to see a wildy inaccurate pass sail away. Im not ask for perfection, im asking for consistency. His biggest knocks coming out of college are still evident, even after nearly two seasons at the pro level. For me, personally, I need that "he's arrived" moment. I look around the league Daniel Jones shredding it, Jackson shredding it, Mahomes shredding it, all making strides puting up monster games and clutch passing performances then look at us and say where are these games from Josh? They just arent there. Especially for a guy you moved up to take at 7th. If he turns out great, ill eat all the crow in the world and admit I was wrong. And that wouldn't be a bad thing because then we finally would have a franchise guy for years to come. That is all I want. Im simply not seeing it.
  12. Yes, the same Barkley who came off the bench in the 4 quarter and drove the team down the field to score the go ahead TD Zay Jones dropped (for which he was cut for) and put up nearly more yardage in the final minutes of the game than Allen did in nearly a full game. Yes, that Barkley. Ps (love how you edited out my final sentence) thanks for the info I was unaware of the ignore feature and when you are consistently harrassed by the same member over and over I believe it is warranted to make a comment.
  13. Way to prove my point. You ignored everything i brought up in my post to make yet again another blatant accusation.
  14. If my opinions are tiresome don't read them, don't respond to them. Im a fan of this team and I post my thoughts about this team on this message board. There are quite a few others who feel the same way I do. It's not a crime to continuously post how great Allen is, to make excuses about his performances by blaming Wrs, O coordinators, O lines, the wind, the rain, the winter solstice, or any other excuses people want to make for him. Nope, no crime at all. Post away. Take a glimpse of how many Allen is great threads there are. The second a fan of the same team says wait a minute, Im not going to make those claims, im going to call it how I see it, they all of a sudden have an agenda, they're called names, they are silenced and they are harassed. Ive been on these boards for 8 years. Mostly reading opinions. Never cared to post because of the flaming people got for not going with the status quo. If you don't like my content nor agree with it, and its so tiresome to you, ignore it, like an adult. You can continue to throw out claims that Allen is improving over and over, yet offer no explanation as to why we are ranked 28th in passing or why his completion percentage is sub 60% on the year with a vastly improved offense around him. You refuse to see anything wrong with his game and continue to blame all the things he can't control as I already mentioned. You compare him to others in his draft class on losing teams, with terrible coaches, but ironically have better completion percentages and are generally more consistent. Pray tell, what does Allen look like on a Jets team right now??? Or a Cleveland team? What would his stat line be??? Its homerism. Plain and simple. The reality of this season is the roster is talented enough to win and the defense and great coaching have taken this team to the playoffs. I pray to the football gods Barkley starts this week against the Jets so fans get a glimpse of what a consistent accurate Qb on this team would look like. It would be a complete force to reckon with. I didnt call a mod, try rereading.
  15. You called ME silly. You ignored everything in my post in order to personally attack me. End of story
  16. Call the mods. You put a clear personal attack towards me, not my post.
  17. The only thing silly is you comparing Allen and his situation to Darnold and his. Ill tell you the same thing I told the rest of your band of merry men, you don't like what I post, then don't respond to it. I don't care to respond to, read, or interact with you in any way shape or form. In fact, if there was an ignore button I'd be using it.
  18. Darnold is stuck with Gase and missed a month of football. Baker is stuck with Kitchens who couldn't scheme up anything outside of dinner. If Darnold were playing here, or even Baker for that matter, both their stats would be way higher. The fact that both were thrust into two different systems in two years with two ***** coaches and still perform better than Allen should speak volumes. I can guarantee neither one of them are coached up or prepared as well as Allen week to week year to year.
  19. Also left out all his fumbles and combined his rushing Tds with passing Tds. Disingenuous to say the least. And a 1-5 record when he's under 60% completion vs 9-0 when he's over 60. No one likes to touch that stat though.
  20. What's next, Vinny Testaverde off the couch?
  21. Yea, brutal. 8 games against playoff caliber teams from this season.
  22. I'd honestly bench the entire first string defense and make the offense play they need all the work they can get at the very least at least the first half. We need to get a good quick fast start out of the O.
