Actually, you can. According to advanced metrics the two most prominent metrics in determining a franchise Qb are clean pocket statistics and catchable pass percentage. Over the last 10 years, zero Qbs with the metrics Allen has over 2 seasons in those categories, has gone on to be a franchise Qb. If you think about the logic they use, its pretty simple. The majority of your throws in the NFL are going to come from a clean pocket. (metrics put it in the low 60%) If you can't be accurate during that percentage, the odds are completely stacked against you. "Accurate" refers to the second most valuable metric, catchable passes. Everything Ive read about advanced metrics concerning Qbs boils down to those two key categories. How accurate are your passes (giving receivers YAC with ball placement) and how consistently are you doing it? (clean pocket passing) All the other stuff will round out your game, but those categories are the most important in determining a franchise Qb.

Completing mid 40% completion against top 10 defenses in year two is no evidence of being great. He averaged 48% completion in his final 3 game stretch. He averaged 34 passes. Not sure how one can equate that with being great. The only success he had was against teams with losing records. In fact, he completed above 60% against 1 team with a winning record....the Titans. The defense nulified those teams with losing records to the point Allen and the offense really didn't need to do much to win. Games we needed the offense to actually score points to win, they were non existent. Those games were against teams with winning records that were well rounded. Allen is going to actually have to win games with his arm this year. No way the defense does what they did last year with 2020 schedule. We will have to score to win.

Buffalo Bills Embedded 2020 premiers 5/20

The Embedded series are excellent. I highly recommend them to anyone who hasn't seen them. I cant wait for more of these. -
Of particular note to me was the fact that a rookie Trubisky was 10th in the league when it came to throwing under pressure (accurate 38.5% of the time) but 26th in the league with a clean pocket (61.5%). So, prior to his first year with Matt Nagy, Trubisky was proving everyone right. He was able to throw a deep ball well when he was on the move, but in a clean pocket he’d make some really bad misses. Clean pocket passing statistic is the key metric. Bigger athletic quarterbacks are usually going to excel in scramble drills for multitude of reasons. 1. Coverage breaks down, leaving Wrs to slip open uncovered. The longer the scramble, usually the more open a Wr becomes. 2. Mechanics get thrown out the window and raw arm talent usually takes precedence. 3. Less psychological pressure exists because your scrambling to make a play thats not supposed to be made, vs being in a clean pocket making a play you are supposed to make. 4. Have the ability to create plays with legs and athletic abilities to shed would be tacklers. If you can't throw from a clean pocket you are never going to be a franchise quarterback. Unfortunately, Trubisky can't throw from a clean pocket just like Allen can't throw from a clean pocket.

Jim Kelly, "something wrong" if Bills don't take East

Jim Kelly, "something wrong" if Bills don't take East
TwistofFate replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This team is a Qb away from winning a Super bowl. If we had Mahomes, super bowl. Brees, super bowl Rodgers, super bowl Roethlisberger, super bowl Rivers, super bowl You get the picture. Also, the 49ers were 6-10 in 2017. So theres that. -

Exactly. The 49ers were 4-12 in 2018. They nearly won a Super bowl in 2019 with a 13-3 regular season record to boot. It happens all the time. -
Ridiculous. Everything should reopen already, and games set for September on should not even be impacted. Woodstock happened in the middle of a pandemic. What happened? Nothing.

One year ago today RIP Ezra "Pancho Billa" Castro
TwistofFate replied to CowgirlsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its a damn shame he's not around to see it all come together. Viva los Bills -
Absolutely not. Allen brings much more to the table, especially with running. Allens biggest problem is accuracy. Im not worried about him reading defenses all that much, that is a process. He can run around to buy time reading a defense, or simply run if he must. Reading Ds will come with time, and he has the tools to make up for not being the best at reading coverages. On top of that, he isnt dumb. I believe he scored mid 30s on wonderlic, which is up there.

Ill lay it out for you nice and simple. What im going to tell you isn't hypothetical, it's factual. 1. Allen has never completed 60% or higher at any point in his college career, nor 2 years now as a professional. 2. He's completed sub 50% (mid to low 40s) completion in 3 games this past season. Every game was a loss, every opponent finished the season with a winning record. His average attempts per game, was 34. (take a look at our schedule, we need big numbers and points to win this year) 3. With the exception of the Titans, every game Allen completed 60% or greater was against teams without a winning record. 4. Drops...Out of every team with 20 or more drops this season, Allen is the only Qb with sub 60% completion. 8 teams had 20+ drops. 5. Advanced metrics... Sports Info Solutions, which has risen to be one of the best most trusted analytical outfits in pro football, has Allen ranked as one of the worst Qbs in the NFL from a clean pocket, as well as on target throws.. (leading receivers with ball placement for YAC) These stats according to them, are the two most important metrics which determine long term franchise Qb performance. No franchise Qbs in the last 10 years have posted the poor numbers Allen has in those key metrics, in their first two years. NONE. The most similar comparison to Allens numbers, is Mitch Trubisky. 6. Allen has yet to do something as common and frequent as any other franchise Qb in the NFL.... pass for 300 yards in an NFL game. 2 years in the NFL as a starter, and he has yet to do something routine from NFL Qbs. Adding Diggs looks beautiful on paper, and to be honest takes away all excuses. But ill let you in on a secret...Our Wrs were running wide open all over the place last year and if you can't connect with them, it doesn't matter who that reciever is. I placed a bet on FACTS and DATA, not on unproven hopes, theoretics, and emotions.

And you'd be wrong. The gun charge is because he was charged with crime higher than a traffic ticket (DWI) while in possession of a gun. He legally owns the gun.

I lived in Houston for a year. Literally 24hrs living there I was pulled over by HWP just off the loop. Reason? I had PA plates and he suspected me of trafficking drugs. (he literally said it to me directly like that) He searched my vehicle for 35mins getting more and more pissed he couldn't find anything. Houston PD was on the scene at that point and they basically rolled their eyes at this guy when he told them what he was doing. HWP eventually left but not before threatening to arrest me for dwi because my pupils looked small and i was sweating. It was late October and I had just moved from PA where the temp was in the 50s-40s to the 80s. Houston PD eventually told this guy to knock it off. When HWP Left Houston PD told me he had called in a huge drug bust on me as he was pulling me over. So i know they trump up charges on people down there.
-
Yikes! Should #Bills DL Ed Oliver be suspended for his reported personal conduct violation, not only would he forfeit $81,725 per week missed, but the remaining $6.8M of salary guarantee on his contract will void.

They always trump up charges to try and get something to stick. Unlawful Carry of a Weapon An individual is prohibited from possessing a handgun while they are committing an offense (other than an offense punishable by a traffic ticket) – even if they are in a generally permissible place to lawfully carry even without a license. For example, imagine you put your handgun in your car where the handle is still visible, go to work, and after work you head to happy hour. Now imagine you get stopped and charged with DWI. Under Texas law, the officer can charge you with UCW because you were committing an offense other than a Class C traffic offense. So while you may have never intended to commit the offense of UCW, by possessing a handgun while committing an offense other than a traffic ticket, the officer can charge you with UCW. For whatever reason you seem to be making this out to be much more than it is. These look to be like trumped-up charges to land something and make it stick, most likely because states have lost tons of Revenue during quarantine. I would not be shocked in the least if his blood test results came back and he was either barely intoxicated or under the intoxication level. I wouldn't be shocked to see that unlawful carry get tossed out as well.
-
Doesnt look that intoxicated to me. Looks like he was out for the day riding an ATV and was headed home. Could explain why he had a weapon (in the woods) and why he was drinking (thats what you do when riding in the woods.) Guess we will have to wait for blood results and an explanation, but this whole situation sucks.

That 70% is there because they are the best at what they do, not because of their skin color. Heads would explode if the league said, hey, 70% of the NFL players are black, we need more white people to make it fair. We are elevating teams draft positions if they draft more white guys. Its the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in both scenarios.
