How in the world do you know the Bills will be playing with the same schemes? I can't imagine that would ever happen year-to-year in the NFL. The same players in a new and revised scheme to better reflect their personal growth and another year of continuity may very well put this team over the top. It might not too, but it is foolhardy to expect the team to trot out with the same schemes.

Well, Mills sure ain't no Gilmore. -
Can someone explain to me the Pats strategy?

Unless they do something else besides Cam and a rookie, Jonnu won't make much of a difference. Catching balls on a one-hop off the carpet still won't count. -

What time did the party start? -
I suggest having the head coaches wrestle at midfield. Winner takes all.

Without getting a warning for bringing up the pandemic, this year has been very rough for a lot of people and former NFL athletes are not immune. The suicide rates and domestic violence cases have skyrocketed over the past year. I pray for everyone going through tough times in hopes that we can avoid tragedies like this. I hope that some good can come out of it for his friends and family. RIP Vincent.

That's the definition of kicking them when they're down.

Was that our easiest playoff loss to take?
clayboy54 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Going back to the preseason, most were saying that anything less than a playoff win would be a disappointment despite the rough looking schedule. I get that we looked like world-beaters at times this year, and I would've liked to see them in the SB too, but the Bills more than exceeded expectations from back before the season. Anyone who doesn't see it that way is likely still influenced by the incredible growth this team took during the season. It was a great year to be a Bills fan. -
Sean McDermott end of season press conference 1/26 11am
clayboy54 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh come on. You're better than that! Sean is as honest as a coach can and should be in this league. He brings a human element to these conferences and that's a lot more than most. Would you rather listen to Belichick? -
Buffalo Bills Offseason Primer. State of the Bills.

I really like your synopsis here Bobby. I am in agreement across the board. I do think that a lot depends on whether we roll with Frazier for next season, or move on, whether by choice or by necessity. Its kind of nice that if we have a new defensive coordinator and scheme, we have a ton of flexibility in personnel. So, if we lose Frazier, we can make some substantial changes across the entire defense and begin the 2021 season fresh on that side of the ball. On the other hand, if Frazier stays, then I think we'll see most of what you described. -
With Milano, I’d offer him a little more than he’s making now and let him walk. No way is he worth the big bucks. Edmunds moves over and we find a top-10 mike. Williams stays only at a reasonable price. John Brown will have to take a pay cut to stay. bye bye to the rest of them.

You can clearly see that Daboll had a blitz-beating game plan. Fool me once. They made adjustments as was evidenced by the 3rd quarter opening drive, which was masterful. You won’t fool me twice. The mark of a good coordinator and play caller is that they make good adjustments and they work. In this case, Daboll did and they were. if IgotBillstoPay wants to argue that the initial game plan was wrong, cool. But, adjustments were successful and well timed which more than makes up for the initial miscalculation.

1966 AFL Championship, Bill's vs Chiefs
clayboy54 replied to I'm Spartacus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry to disagree, but you are mistaken. I attended every Bills home game from 1963 until 1972 when I moved away. Cookie was better than Jim Brown. They were equal as power runners, but Cookie was much faster, more elusive, which was rare at the time, and every one of his runs was an “angry run.” The problem was that Cookie always had a couple screws loose. We was as crazy as they come. He was like that until he died. And, he played in the CFL and AFL. NFL players were always considered major-league, while everybody else was considered JV. Between his nutty behavior and his never having had a chance to play in the NFL, Cookie will never get the respect he truly deserves. Elbert Dubenion, Glenn Bass, Jack Kemp and Daryl Lamonica had as successful passing attack as anyone for their time. John Hadl and Lance Alworth in San Diego, coached by the father of the modern passing game Sid Gilman, were the only team of those years that were better. Don’t ever believe that the Bills were a one dimensional running team. They were not. The game clearly had not evolved into the game we have today, but the long bomb was king and the Bills had it to perfection for at least two of those years. -

If we are lucky, we get to whack Mahomes this week and Brady in the SB. That would really exorcise our demons!
