I imagine that UB could get a few non-conference games with the likes of Syracuse,Penn State, Ohio State, West Virginia and maybe even Notre Dame. But, none of those schools are coming in to play in a slightly better than high school stadium, like they currently have. It might help elevate their program in the eyes of the big conferences and then if they want to make the commitment, they could make the leap.

We are all extremely disappointed that he isn’t developing like we all hoped. Some OL guys take time and the staff obviously sees potential there. As a few others have mentioned, he really doesn’t have very many games under his belt at guard. He is a tough guy with an edge. I’m sure Beane will find a replacement if some further progress is not seen.

Typically, you don't put long and tall men at guard. Their length seldom translates to the guard position. This is due to both the working area as well as their leverage. Long and tall men operate best with more space at a position where low leverage is not as important. This position on the OL is tackle. That said, freak athletes may defy traditional thought here. It is generally thought to be a bad idea, though. Maybe someone with OL experience could chime in about this.

It looks like although sloppy, they worked. It seems obvious that they're working on it and they'll eventually find the right combination. After all, you never know if what you've got will work until it either does or doesn't on Sundays. If it doesn't you just have to make some changes.
