  1. No, we are in control of our own destiny. If we beat NE twice, we win. If we don’t, then they deserve it.
  2. Miami Tannehill has returned!
  3. "Pocket? Don't talk about—pocket! You kidding me? Pocket? I just hope we can block somebody, anybody!”
  4. I honestly do not think it is over the top. The message is ball security. Since The rookie dropped one last night, the face of the franchise will be back in on Monday night.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving all! Get ready to carve up the bird and the Saints. 🦃
  6. I respect you so much for the insight you bring and the obvious work you put in analyzing this team. So, please tell me what you believe is wrong with the OL. It surely isn't just five guys who forgot how to play, is it?
  7. Thanks for the well written analysis. I agree with everything you say. My only comment is that while you are accurate in placing blame for the undisciplined play on coaching, I have to ask the rhetorical question, "what can you do about it in this day and age?" You cannot make them run wind sprints or give you 50 pushups. Heck, you probably can't even hollar too loud or you'll likely get sued. As a coach who preaches accountability, all you can hope for is that the team leaders hold their peers accountable. Maybe they can guilt underachievers into playing smarter and harder. The coaches can only make personnel decisions based on on-field performance and even then, it's likely next year before lazy guys like Vernon Butler will be let go. Like you, I had a feeling about the way the Colts game would go. I'm disappointed but not angry. Happy Thanksgiving!
  8. I don't think it's weird, but it does go to show you what a crap shoot it is drafting players. While guys like Big Mike Williams and even Cody Ford were highly touted coming out, some of these "sure thing" picks just can't compete at the next level. Who really knows why? It really is just luck. Yet Spencer Brown seems to be the real deal. I suspect much of it is between the ears. Some of these guys are divas because they were coddled their entire life. Some of these guys are dumb as a box of rocks. You never know who you're getting until they pan out one way or another. Ultimately, it comes down to hard work and understanding what you have yet to learn. It appears we got very lucky with Spencer Brown.
  9. Maybe he will favor his namesake on such a family day as Thanksgiving?
  10. Your article this week is spot on, Shaw. Although, as you say above that they can't run effectively may be true, we'll never know because in order to be successful running, you have to get the defense to buy into biting up to stop it. Then as you know, you trap and use misdirection to make it successful. In essence, you have to run a good amount to make running work. Additionally as you know, the OL has to be committed to the run scheme and alter their technique accordingly. Maybe our OL guys would be good at it, but we'll again never know. You just can't be successful running from a pass pro OL scheme. Since we've proven that we are not a great line in pass pro, we'd have little risk to change it up and give it a try. Heck, JA17 would be in no more peril passing from a run-blocking scheme than he already is with our poor pass pro. Finally as you also know, the players just do what they're asked to do. They don't design the scheme or call the plays. The failure is on coaching. Let me ask you, what has changed from last year to this year insofar as coaching is concerned? I don't know anything behind the scenes anymore, but maybe you do. From a distance, I say DORSEY. Nothing else has changed. Maybe it's a Peter Principle deal, where passing game coordinator is over his head. Then again, maybe it's something altogether different. Regardless, I don't buy that everyone else in the league has us figured out, (except the JETS). It's gotta be something else, and it's affected this team from top to bottom.
  11. Then, you woke up in a cold sweat…
  12. But when you have nothing to lose… go for it.
  13. Nobody is saying anything of the sort. All these franchise QBs are great players. But, guys that can take their team to the top and keep them there are few and far between. Listen, it’s not an all-or-nothing proposition. It is possible to be a great athlete and not be able to carry a team to greatness. It’s a really fine line. Marino couldn’t, Kelly couldn’t (although 4x AFC championships is special), and there are all kinds of almost guys like Ryan. compared to you and me, they’re superstars. Compared to the Joe Montana’s and Tom Brady’s of the world, they’re pretty average.
  14. Nope, it’s really not. All that is, is one game short. Just like the 90s Bills. Other than wide right, nobody remembers the team that finished second.
  15. He’s very Matt Stafford like. Big time stats but never won anything. I call that mediocre.
  16. They should have a priest on the sidelines giving Matt Ryan his last rites. It would be a fitting end to his mediocre career.
  17. Oh, it made a difference alright! Not a positive difference, however.
  18. He’s already carrying a spare around with him!
  19. Redd Foxx was a funny SOB.
  20. Why don’t we have a “throw-off” where the longest pass wins? What do you think, Josh?
  21. It’s proven to be “the Raider Way.”
