Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
clayboy54 replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
He can sign with us as "Rick" and sign with da Bears as "Ryan". Then, he gets double the pay. Might be a little tired on Tuesdays, but so what? -
Fire at Mile High Stadium. Not a small one either.

Or aluminum bleachers. -
I don’t know where you come up with an established time. No two injuries are alike and neither are players’ commitment to rehab work. We have all seen some guys come back at 6 months. We have also seen guys like Teddy Bridgewater take 2 years. Maybe what you’re referring to is an average time stat. That’s a tough comparison as 350 lb linemen clearly have different physical challenges than backs, corners or receivers. So, I am saying that averages cannot apply to a given individual. It is obvious to me that Tre is driven. He’s driven to be the best. He’s driven to work harder. He will be driven to be ready. This is what makes me say that.

You guys are smoking some good stuff up there. Tre would need to get run over by a bus to not be ready for the season. Will he be his 100% best, perhaps not. But, he’ll be on the field.

I bet the board will be loving this signing. 😜

Dane looked better and better every week. Sure he's still learning but, it's not anything close to a disaster. I'm betting Tre will be ready, if not at 100%. Yes, we have to add somebody who's played in the league and a rookie. I strongly believe that someone that can play at the level Wallace was at will be fine and is all we need to get started. Remember, Taron has been a lock-down in the slot. Tre and Dane are 1-2 on the outside moving forward.

Bates is both versatile and extremely smart. If the offer sheet is at all reasonable, match the offer.

Wouldn't it be so very Billzy to have everyone completely lose interest in the NFL just as the Bills are ready to win the Big One? Just our luck! (Right?)

Quinton Spain comments on release from the Bills

Maybe that's why we now have a new OL coach. But don't let that hold up your crusade. -
That makes it legal, but it doesn't make it ethical.

Seems like a popular thing lately, doesn't it?

(Edit) Loss of coordinators' effect on success next season

Did you get a new TV? -
I completely agree. While it may not be true yet, opportunities are clearly presented for many to benefit by predetermining outcomes, if only in subtle less noticeable ways. Now, maybe this has been going on for years and we're only realizing it now due to the involvement of gambling in sports, but I suspect you can't keep impropriety from the game anymore. One or several bad actors will clearly be involved at some level. And truthfully, the owners themselves may be at the root of it all.

Will Brady bring in Joe Burrow as Josh's new back-up?

All this talk of a power struggle is naive to say the least. The boss is the boss and any of the underlings who don't like it can find the door. Since when does a coordinator have any right to usurp the power of the head coach? They don't. I think this is just sour grapes from a former head coach who doesn't like that he was fired. Making up sh!t about other guys to support your agenda will not get you very far in the NFL. GMs and owners have long memories and there are precious few jobs. This is not a good look for Flores. It would also be wise for Daboll and anyone else associated with this rant to distance themselves from the story.

But, can he eat a side of beef in a single sitting?

Maybe Josh kicked in a few bucks to keep Dorsey.

Since Simon so unceremoniously shut down the endorsements post, and I went to all this trouble, I guess I'll post it here: -
Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants

Expecting Daboll to concentrate on the running game would be like expecting to find a goldmine in your garden. Possible, but not very likely. -

Offseason Trade Prediction: We acquire Saquan
clayboy54 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that we need a bigger back with speed. However, we do not need to spend a bunch of assets to get one. I said I’d give them a 3rd. I doubt they accept that, so I’d look elsewhere. That said, I think Saquan could help the Bills. -
I will assume that you maintain autonomy with your boss at your job. Is that the way this works now? Cripes, McDermott is the boss and has the right to say and do anything he believes is the best for his team. No team has coordinators that cannot be overruled, or managed by the head coach. Neither does a corporation. Ultimately, if a boss fails then the entire staff is under fire. There is no situation where subordinates are not responsible to their boss. We get that you don’t like McD. However, you can’t change the way these things work.
