  1. We could call it, "The Cave." (or the Grave) Every game would be a night game. It wouldn't be wrong to say that the losing team was "buried." On opening day, they would hand out shovels. I'm here all week...
  2. It's just a small setback for the Dolphins, because they have the most accurate passer ever! And, we all know, "you can't teach accuracy."
  3. And the giant net drops on all the thugs from the U. Kills two birds with one stone.
  4. Fixed that for you.
  5. Come on John. Teller took a long time to develop. We gave him time, just not enough. Plus, Teller is not a great pass blocker. He's unquestionably a fantastic run blocker. Would he even fit on the Bills today? Likewise, Cody Ford might be a very serviceable run blocking guard for the Cards or someone else. Honestly, neither of these two guys are a fit on the Bills right now. If we had Teller back, we'd all be calling him a turnstile and a bust. But we don't have either now, and let's just leave it at that.
  6. He did... They didn't have to cut him, did they?
  7. Back in the day, they had the "Taxi Squad." It was a place to stash developmental players. The name Taxi Squad came from Paul Brown in Cleveland (I think), because he had a deal worked out where these players could make money on the payroll of the owner's cab company while they awaited another chance next year. That was because only the 40 roster players were allowed to be paid by the club.
  8. Back in the late 1960s, Paul Maguire had a couple that might have been just that. Once, while punting from his endzone, he hit the goalpost, (which was on the goalline at that time). That cost us because it was ruled a safety. On another one I remember, Paul was punting from deep in our own end and he kicked the ball into the backside of the up-back. As I recall, that cost us 7 in the ensuing plays. I also remember in one of those wind games at the Rockpile, Paul skyed one and the wind caught it. It actually sailed backward landing behind him. Again as I remember, that cost us 7. Lord know, I can't remember if we lost those games, but we didn't win many during those years. Someone else might remember those games better. So, yeah. A punter can affect the result of a game.
  9. The Melt is my absolute favorite place to get hardening of the arteries! YUM
  10. Was there a flying saucer in your area?
  11. He’s packing his belongings.
  12. Back in that heyday, my favorite subscription was The Football News. It was a great little paper that was delivered by mail every week. It was costly by online standards, but it was worth every penny. The Athletic - for just Bills news - is not worth it IMO.
  13. While Howard might be traded, I think Moss also could be, (or even Singletary). It’s nice to have a surplus and if the price is right, they’re for sale. I love seeing the rookies shine, however we cannot get too enamored with shiny new toys when the core is most important in a Super Bowl run. As an example, if nobody offers a decent price for Howard, it’s likely he stays and either Sweeney or Morris, (or both) are released. Fans might cry over a guy like Blackshear being released, but other clubs are also in the same, albeit weaker place. They aren’t going to claim an unproven guy on cutdown day just because he is available. He wouldn’t know their playbook and might not fit their locker room going into the season. You just don’t know. Then we can pick him back up for the PS. Instead, you keep the vets and if need be, make changes during the season. The expanded PS helps make this a much greater tool. So, the risk is worth the reward in most cases.
  14. The orange gloves show when the network goes to a commercial break. Typically, they hold the glove over their chest during a break and drop it to their side when the break is over. Watch the guy during a game. It’s interesting. Unlike the above reply, the guy doesn’t run onto the field or wave his arms or anything like that. It’s just an inconspicuous way the Referee knows when to wind the clock - play clock again. Did you ever notice when the network comes back from their break and the rejoin graphics that immediately the Ref blows the whistle and drops his hand to start the play clock? Did you just think the network timed it perfectly on a stopwatch? Nope. It goes like a well-oiled machine because of the guy with the orange glove and usuall a yellow vest with an X on it.
  15. If WGR used the dump button for anything other than profanity, their hosts would all be silent.
  16. I don’t think we have a fifth string.
  17. The Bills JV team has played most all of the game, too.
  18. That one camera person is clearly a still photographer.
  19. Yep. We’ll be lucky if we stop anyone this year. 😛
  20. I like this idea!
  21. I can see society getting around to fixing this somewhere right after we "fix" the rampant corruption in government and politics. Its all about the money. Here, there, everywhere. 🤑 Would you rather do things the right way, or make money? This my friend, is the real question.
  22. I hear he’s ready to lay the lumber on some Panthers tonight!
