OMG! Tre White is mentally ill. I read it right here! that’s the last straw… we’re well and truly cursed.

Beasley was a special talent. He ran great routes and always found the seam. He wasn’t afraid to take the hits, although that clearly shortened his career as we all saw. Maybe Shakir has a career like that but he clearly isn’t there this season. Despite the injury woes, Crowder was good at it as well. McKenzie… not in the same conversation by any measure. How can you fault a coordinator’s use of a position where you had your best guy leave, the next guy broke his leg, and the new hire hasn’t figured any of it out yet? Do you still tell Josh to throw the ball to a guy who can’t get open or any separation? Do you still game plan around guys who can’t catch? I dunno, but my guess is you don’t. That right there is what is happening.

I agree that Dorsey’s learning curve has affected on-field production this season. But, let’s not forget that Dabol went long stretches where he was unable to be flexible enough to shelve the cute plays and just hammer the ball. Dorsey has a lot of room for positive growth. Dabol is Dabol.

Did you see the KC game last night? Their screens against pressure were textbook perfect. It just killed the Chargers.

McKenzie is just another guy. Really, he’s just the class clown. The guy has nothing except speed. As an example, the 2-point play yesterday could’ve been converted if he stuck his left foot in the turf and cut it up at the 1. Instead, he doesn’t see that lane. Plus, he’s so tiny that he is afraid to take the hit. This is a terrible trait in football. And for some reason, Lil Dirty loses his concentration at the most in opportune times.

Beane sure as hell did address the secondary. He drafted Elam and Benford. Nobody expected them to be immediately thrust into the starting lineup. If we had a healthy Poyer and Hyde back there, they’d be fine enough. Take those two away and you’ve got a bunch of inexperienced, albeit very talented kids hanging out to dry. Nobody could’ve anticipated the decimation of our secondary. Nobody expected Tre to play dead. Plus, when you take guys like Tremaine out of the lineup you’re increasing the isolation of the DBs in the short to intermediate stuff. Dodson is okay. Klein is okay. But they cannot cover the middle like Tremaine does. Despite the TBD hate for 49, he really makes a big difference in our defensive scheme. All these things make your point hard to take seriously. If you want to say that about WR or OL, I can accept that argument. I cannot stomach your criticism of management regarding anything on our defense.

The point being that Rex is probably the best living 4-3 DC based on performance. Lousy HC, but great DC.

Ultimately, this will be a call that Beane has to make this offseason. Is he a part of this team, or not. Not a whole lot you can do now. You can’t just cut him.
