  1. I guess that I'm happy that we got the deal done before the season began. I still question whether a "high motor" guy is worth the big bucks. I like Aaron's progression over the years, and he is our best DE, but could we have used that money to get a bigger and stronger DE to compliment the other two "high motor" guys we have on the other side? What is the opinion here? Also, I guess that means Jennings is history, as we all figured.
  2. Trying out for team dunce.
  3. I'd bet that we'll not see Pucillo on the field much. He seems like a veteran presence that can help Lawrence Smith with his experience, especially at handling negative criticism. If one of the interior linemen goes down, I would guess the Bills would make a roster move, like bringing Sobieski back from the PS if he makes it there later today.
  4. While I do not disagree with the opinion that Kelsay looks better against the run, I cannot understand one thing. Consistantly, the Bills have said that Denny is "solid against the run" and weaker against the pass. What is it that we do not see that make the Bills like Denny so much as a run stopper. His stock in this department has been going up each year. Maybe TSW doesn't know more that NFL coaches? Or not.
  5. Some of the truth that we likely will never know may be: 1. Sobieski's history of injuries are popping up again. He did hobble off the field in Detroit. He may still not have fully recovered. 2. When choosing who to release for the practice squad, the choices are often predicated by lack of interest by other teams. Since Sobieski is unknown he is an obvious candidate. 3. Pucillo may not be very good, but he is experienced and can be a bigger help to L Smith than a guy like Sobieski. If Sobieski goes unclaimed and makes the PS then you may see a mid-season move if we see an interior lineman go down.
  6. I predict that Gildon will have 3 sacks, McKenzie will have at least 2 sacks, Stephenson will recover 2 ST fumbles. Ken Simonton will have 100+ yards rushing and Sullivan will emerge as a driven tackle, and Haddad will have a long TD reception. Ooooops, they're all cut. Goes to show you how much I know. lol
  7. Next time, use a larger font. That way we'll be able to read it the FIRST time.
  8. Arizona 103 Miami 0
  9. For the love of Christ, could someone please explain to me why Jason Esposito is still on our roster???
  10. Excellent story. Tell us about the Durrand Roundtree - gangland connection. I'm sure the "hit" on Travis brown is somehow tied into this conspiracy. And, did Milloy forget to pay back his debt? I figure it was either a broken arm or a broken kneecap. How much was he into his bookie for, anyhow?
  11. Listen here. I was at the game. Lindell looked good. He had plenty of distance on the 49 yarder and didn't miss by much. He has look real good all preseason. He sure beats the heck out of Shafer. The out of bounds kickoff was called to the corner. So he missed by a few yards. Vanderjagt did the same thing a few minutes before. Would you cut him?
  12. Wouldn't you agree, Zolman looked pretty darn good for his first NFL game? I sure thought so.
  13. After the drive back to Fort Wayne, here are my comments from tonights game. 1. Mike Williams and Chris Villarial aren't clicking at all. When one zigs the other zags. Big trouble. Smith & Sullivan looked like Pro Bowlers in comparison. All this, primarily on running plays. Pass protection wasn't as bad as I honestly expected. Sully did get beat badly once. Smith lost his shoe and Tucker wasn't ready to come in, so they had to burn a timeout. Mularkey gave him an earful, bigtime. 2. In an effort to get a pass rush, the LBs are coming so frequently that if a back breaks containment or gets past the first line of defense, its a long gainer. Yes, the pressure was good all night, but the cost for that pressure is quite few long runs and short passes going for 20-30 yards. I don't know if I like this better than no pass rush at all. 3. Willis McGahee is not ready for prime time. He hits the holes and runs with power, but has no speed or burst. None at all. Not a bit. Plus, he put the ball on the carpet once. Kiss my a$$ Rosenhaus. Shaud Williams is a better runner right now. 4. Goodbye Travis Brown. That injury looked bad, real bad. I haven't seen a leg bend that way since Joe Theisman did it. I was in row 9. Ouch. (it hurt me, it looked so bad. Anyhow, Flutie could've gotten the ball further than Travis did on that long ball INT. 5. On that blocked punt, it wasn't anybody's fault on the field. Too bad the guy who was supposed to be in there was watching the implants on the cheerleaders. Of course, somebody should've noticed and called time out. 6. What happened to Coy Wire's tackling??? He can still hit, and he's around the ball, but he can't tackle to save his life. Two plays later he makes the pick. With Malloy out, maybe he makes the team. Otherwise, hit the road. 7. Both teams looked tired. I guess that's what you get on the last week of camp. Bledsoe looked as good or better than Manning all 3 quarters they played. If we would have had Henry in there we would've moved the chains more. 8. Few penalties... a great thing. Bledsoe's pick was clearly Shaw's fault. He cut the route off short as Bledsoe led him upfield. Bad read by the wideout. Has anybody seen Lee Evans? Somebody out there wore his shirt, but whoever that was, he isn't ready for the NFL. 9. Once again I am reminded how great the Ralph is. Let me tell you, the RCA Dome sucks. So do the fans that sat near me. Those that had a brain didn't have any class and those without... please wipe up your drool. Anyhow, I had a heluva time fitting my ass between the cupholders on those god-awful theatre seats. $79 friggin dollars apiece for a piece of crap seat. That is all for tonight.
  14. FYI, I am sitting at Aisle 142, Row 9, with my wife and friends. If anybody wants to drop over and say hello, I'll be wearing my Bills clothes.
  15. First, Wire did not make it past the first cutdown. That is next week. The Bills just got halfway there a few days ahead of schedule. Second, Wire is not a great ST player, and arguably not even a really good one. He is a serviceable ST player and possibly may become a serviceable safety. Please do not compare Coy to any really good or great players. The problem lies with deciding to continue the Coy Wire project, or begin to develop a hotter, younger prospect. The final decision will be based on guys like Rashad Baker's development as well as in commiting the starters to ST play. No matter how you slice it, there is likely no way that both Prioleau and Wire stick. As much as I wish it weren't true, right now Prioleau is a more effective player.
  16. Actually, I'd like to think all the doubters WOULD both hold their breath AND duct tape their mouths (and noses). Sure would be a lot more pleasant around here without all the doomsayers. lol
  17. Fax him a photocopy of your ass!
  18. Listen... There was no injury to JP Losman. He is fine and his captors are treating him well. You might see his double standing on the sidelines with a cast on his leg. Not to worry. It is not really JP. The Tri-lateral Commission is holding JP until the proper time and place. You will see.
  19. I remember back when Jack Kemp went down for the season during camp. That was a bad year for injuries, alright. By the time it was all over, we had Ed Rutkowski as QB. The moral of the story is that either: 1. JP Losman will be a heluva politician. or 2. This is not a big deal compared to the past.
  20. The Buffalo inferiority complex is promulgated by statements just like yours. You see, its a self fulfilling prophecy. "Just our luck" they say, and that's just the luck they get. Its always something, if you think about it. The Mayor, the taxes, the crime, the waterfront, the Bills... et al. "Poor, poor me." Take a look around you. Then, get a grip. The Dolphins... now they're snakebit!
